It depends how you process curious.
Are you interested in people fleeing from war and want to know more or do you find them strange in some way?

M0nica Mon 01-Sept-25 10:56:26

i am interested in most people.

Most people. Everyone has a story.

I am curious about people who live differently to me either because they are from another country/culture or because they are extremely rich or extremely poor etc.
I love any documentary that looks at different peoples around the world for this reason. Simon Reeve is particularly good.

I find other peoples families fascinating. I like knowing about my friends parents and siblings etc.

I love listening to peoples backgrounds. Family tree stuff etc.

I really enjoy hearing people's stories. Visiting very elderly people is fascinating. I love hearing first hand stories about life as it used to be.
Otherwise I enjoy the company of people with good senses of humour.

Elderly people have so many stories. Sadly they assume folk won’t be interested much. There’s an African saying “when an old person dies a library goes with them” or some such. So true.

Many’s the time I’ve wanted to ask my darling late mum something. Or my aunt. I miss them so much. Lovely ladies. We all did so much together which I’m grateful for, no missed opportunities to regret.

I do sometimes wonder how the very wealthy spend their time and money. Or how it must be working for the Royals or say celebrities like the Beckhams.

I’d be nervous even boiling an egg for King Charles. He likes things ‘just so’. I think he can be an irascible chap. I bet Camilla has her work cut out at times. Mind you, she can pull rank as she’s a year older - tell him (privately) to cut out his nonsense!

Yes, exactly this. Throughout my working life as a journalist, that's the thing which stuck with me the most. Everyone has a story to tell - guaranteed, some of the stories are more interesting than others - but often it is the ones you least expect who turn out to have the most to tell. And never judge a book by its cover either...

The sad thing is how much you find out about friends and acquaintances at their funerals. Incredible achievements and events in their past that you would never have dreamed of.

MammaTJ Mon 01-Sept-25 15:55:51

Everybody! I love to hear about other people's lives, what they think, how they feel.

JamesandJon33 Mon 01-Sept-25 15:57:31

All sorts. Their lives, their thoughts, feelings, diet, children, jobs.

Greenfinch Mon 01-Sept-25 16:08:38

Primitive people living in remote areas or people who lived thousands of years ago such as Biblical characters. I am interested in their simple lifestyles.

Yes, nanna8, and we have been to so many over the last few years.
Some people's achievements were incredible, some unexpected, but they never talked about them.

Have you watched Human Greenfinch?
It is available on BBC iPlayer now

nanna8, that has been my experience, too.

I am interested in everybody - some might call me nosey. I am always asking, asking, and asking. And I’m equally quite open about my life, my past etc etc.

Sago Mon 01-Sept-25 18:05:17

I would love to talk to the men and women living in oppressive regimes.
I read recently how a court (Sharia) ordered a rapists sister to be raped as his punishment.
Do most of the women accept this?
Do the men think this is acceptable?

Esmay Mon 01-Sept-25 19:32:16

I often ask people whete they cone from .
But this sometimes causes offence .
I'm genuinely interested in their culture .

Greenfinch Mon 01-Sept-25 22:32:26

Allira many thanks for pointing me in the direction of Human. I wasn’t aware of it but would certainly be interested in watching it. Are there just five episodes or does it go any further ?

Abnuyc123 Mon 01-Sept-25 22:42:32

Nuns. I’m fascinated about their lives, particularly the ones that live in seclusion and dedicate their lives to prayer.

When I was much younger, I was very interested in the life of nurses and then I became one. It turns out we are just ordinary people.

We missed the first one and I think watched four.
That's it, I believe. Ella Al-Shamahi is a very good presenter.

I must catch up with the first one and might watch it all again.

Don’t they want to bring that here?

No, you're not, Abnuyc123.
I could never be a nurse.
