Hello Kitcheners- hope you don't mind and apologies if a new kitchen has already been opened elsewhere but I couldn't find it if there has... I've done my best but it still needs a few throws and cushions to make it more homely, ready for the nights drawing in and chillier evenings. Some freshly baked scones, jam and cream on the side if you fancy a treat.
I hope you dont think it presumptious of me to start this kitchen as I don't post as regularly as some of you but do find Soops Kitchen a lovely place to drop into even if I've nothing to say.

How lovely you can treasure these moments FGT.

mamaa Fri 19-Sept-25 22:19:05

Lovely to read about the FGTs happy day and hope that those awaiting results etc get good news. x

Naughtyneine Sat 20-Sept-25 07:48:07

So lovely to read your post FGT and wishing for more days like that for you both.
Glad you are home safe Jax..I hope you managed to avoid the M5 and the knock on effect of the accidents that closed sections of it for most of yesterday.
I've got a Bio Bank scan today that they have said could be up to 5 hours, and then onto see friends in Wiltshire, I hope I'm not hurting too much by then as we haven't seen them for many months.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Jaxjacky Sat 20-Sept-25 08:25:50

neine that was the first jam, A30, M5, A30, gridlocked.
utbb I was sorry to read last night that you’ve had another upsetting week, it must be exhausting, looking back is easy, but forwards it must be xx

Usedtobeblonde Sat 20-Sept-25 14:45:55

Good afternoon, or rather a very wet afternoon here in Stockport.
I wasn’t going out anyway but it would have been a Nono.
So pleased you made it home ok *Jaxjacky, what a journey though.
Our bus services were on strike yesterday, all weekend and Monday so even local car journeys are taking forever.
I take on board the advice from people not to look back, I know it is a negative exercise but truly at age 88 I am finding it difficult to look forward.
I question how much time I have left.
I expect it is the present situation affecting my judgement, I must snap out of it.
I hope the ones not well and their carers are coping today, my very best thoughts are with you all.

Usedtobeblonde sorry to learn you have troubles once more, I hope you find a solution 🌸

Blossoming Sat 20-Sept-25 15:30:45

Hello lovely people! I am nearly home after my latest hospital nightmare, spending a couple of weeks in a lovely nursing home just across the bridge from my home and my love ♥️. I’m very tired so probably not up to posting much just yet.

Blossoming Sat 20-Sept-25 15:32:22

P.S. Jaxjacky I am watching the steam trains 😀

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 20-Sept-25 15:37:12

Glad to read your post Blossoming- hope you feel better soon.
I’m from the NW originally and think I recognise the marina. Smoked kippers spring to mind😉
I went to Lancaster University in the late 70’s and my Mum and Dad had a boat on the Lancaster Canal in the early 90’s.
Owd Nells was a favourite place of theirs and they liked to moor their boat nearby there. xx

Get well Blossoming flowers

Nannytopsy Sat 20-Sept-25 16:52:39

Glad you are back with us Blossoming and I hope kitty is home soon too. Anaesthetists are generally an odd bunch kitty - even my best school friend is a case in point!
Love to everyone in the kitchen. There is a 5L box of lovely Loire rose on the table from one of our favourite vineyards - do enjoy!
We are at a guest house 2 hours from Calais, so tomorrow should be easy driving, apart from the M25 when we leave the Tunnel. Today the Satnav was in a bad mood and took us right through massive roadworks in Rouen instead of a much more straightforward way. She might find she gets turned off if she keeps this up. 🤬
Love to everyone

GrandmaC47 Sat 20-Sept-25 16:52:58

Blossoming, so good to hear from you. Hope you improve quickly. Enjoy the trains.

Georgesgran Sat 20-Sept-25 17:41:33

Lovely to have you back Blossoming please look after yourself.

When I had a knee op kitty the Anaesthetist visited me - in scrubs, clutching a mug of coffee and a slice of toast!

I hope SueDonin is ok.

Thank you for opening the new one 👍🌸

Hi 👋 Blossoming it’s lovely to hear from you, but sorry that you’ve been feeling so poorly, sending you the gentlest hugs ❤️

We’ve had an interesting day here, we’ve been exploring a couple of local buildings as part of the Doors Open Days (I think it’s called Heritage Open days in England). First we went to Inverness Justice Centre, it’s quite a new modern building and we had a tour of the various court rooms, the Hight Court, Sheriffs Office, interview rooms, solicitors chambers etc and then down to have a look at the cells. They showed us the whole process from when a defendant is brought over from either the prison or the police station, where they’re held before the trial, where they enter the courtroom and sit etc and then what happens if they’re sent down. Then onto Inverness Town House which is a beautiful building in the centre of town, there was live entertainment and complimentary teas, coffees etc. Something a bit different today but very interesting

Uttb always thinking about you and the troubles you’re facing. What a nuisance about the buses and hope the weather improves soon and you can get out and about

Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x

Yes GG I saw that we had reached the 1000 post limit and the mods had said that the thread was now closed.
I couldn’t fit all that in the post heading so had to abbreviate it, although I realised later that what I’d put looked like it had been ‘shut down’. That’s when an edit button would’ve come in useful. Sorry about that if I misled anyone.
