Hello Kitcheners- hope you don't mind and apologies if a new kitchen has already been opened elsewhere but I couldn't find it if there has... I've done my best but it still needs a few throws and cushions to make it more homely, ready for the nights drawing in and chillier evenings. Some freshly baked scones, jam and cream on the side if you fancy a treat.
I hope you dont think it presumptious of me to start this kitchen as I don't post as regularly as some of you but do find Soops Kitchen a lovely place to drop into even if I've nothing to say.

Have a great time in Vienna, brook and DH!

GrannySomerset, I once found my missing wedding ring inside a rolled up pair of socks, weeks after it had gone astray. Dont give up hope. 🙏St Anthony

Thinking of all with worries, illness or sorrow.

Wishing everyone a pleasant and peaceful Friday. TOYA.

Such good news from you FGT. Fingers still crossed for you Grannysomerset.
A small group of us from choir went to see The Choral last night. It’s an Alan Bennett film, with a host of well known actors. Thoroughly recommended if you get the chance.
Are art from a bit of ironing and a bit of packing, the day is quiet. It’s pouring with rain and will be all day, so no gardening. I may make the Christmas pudding.
Best wishes to all

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Nov-25 10:26:55

Thanks for the update Baggs.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 14-Nov-25 20:25:32

I’ve had a busy day to put it mildly! OH and I went to an Arts Society Study Day on medieval architecture. We went in separate cars as after lunch I missed the final lecture and drove to Kew. Storm Claudia was at her most fearsome and wet and there was fog. I collected my granddaughter from school and later on we went to Pizza Hut. I am exhausted! We are going to the V&A tomorrow. It is only a few stops on the tube and I’ve been taking her there since she was small.

Have a good evening everyone.

brook2704 Fri 14-Nov-25 20:52:06

Thank you Baggs for the update on our dearest Soop, good to hear that she’s being well looked after and looking forward to a visit from her son

Lovely news Fgt so pleased for you both

We’re just back at our hotel after a very busy day here in Vienna - so much to see and do. We’ve packed a lot in since we arrived yesterday including the Schonbrunn palace & gardens, the Kunsthaus museum, a stunning light show at the Votivkirche and 2 different Christmas markets. Vienna is beautiful in the daytime and magical at night - it’s cold though 🥶
We visited a traditional Viennese coffee shop and just had to sample the Sachertorte - delicious. Tomorrow probably a wander around the historic centre and stopping off here and there for coffees or maybe Gluhwein at the Christmas markets

Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x

Thank you for the update baggs, I’m pleased that soop is being well cared for at home. I’m sure a visit from one of her sons next week will cheer her. I hope you’re well?

A lot of rain here in Essex today, but not as much as many of you have had. Not windy either.

fgt good news from you yesterday, long may it continue.

dragonfly I hope your DH is improving now and will soon be home.
I’ve done very little today, bingo at lunchtime was a success as I won twice! I wrapped the littlest granddaughter’s birthday presents up and unpacked and put away my food delivery. Did some washing and dried it. Now need to unload the tumbledrier and put the washing away!

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Scapa1 Fri 14-Nov-25 21:56:30

Brook glad you are enjoying Venice. So envious.

Jaxjacky Fri 14-Nov-25 21:58:34

Looks beautiful brook, see Inverness had a sprinkle of snow this morning!

dragonfly46 Fri 14-Nov-25 22:19:59

Thank you Baggs for the update on our precious soop.

mamaa Fri 14-Nov-25 22:31:43

Sending love and hugs to all who might need it tonight 💐 x

Nannytopsy Fri 14-Nov-25 23:16:32

Thank you Baggs. I have been thinking about soop more often lately.
A busy day today but I completely forgot that I was meant to be out this morning. Instead I had a really lazy start and made soup and Christmas pudding! Oops! 😬
Off early tomorrow to babysit for the afternoon/evening so we are in bed before usual. Sleep tight everyone x

cornergran Fri 14-Nov-25 23:40:14

Thank you baggs, home is the best place for rest and care.

Goodness it’s been wet out there today. We ventured forth to find roads awash. Not pleasant for sure

Time for sleep now. Goodnight everyone. Sleep tight.

gillgran Sat 15-Nov-25 10:30:06

Vienna looks great , brook, continue to enjoy your holiday.

A little drier here in Cambridgeshire today after a very soggy day yesterday. November weather indeed!!

Warm thoughts for you all in the kitchen, especially soop , fgt, dragonfly & all with extra worries just now. x
