Thank you, baggs, as always for the update on soop and McSporran. I hope you are ok. Love to all of you.
The Lebanon to be heavily bombed
Good Morning Tuesday 26th May 2026
Hello Kitcheners- hope you don't mind and apologies if a new kitchen has already been opened elsewhere but I couldn't find it if there has... I've done my best but it still needs a few throws and cushions to make it more homely, ready for the nights drawing in and chillier evenings. Some freshly baked scones, jam and cream on the side if you fancy a treat.
I hope you dont think it presumptious of me to start this kitchen as I don't post as regularly as some of you but do find Soops Kitchen a lovely place to drop into even if I've nothing to say.
Thank you, baggs, as always for the update on soop and McSporran. I hope you are ok. Love to all of you.
Thank you, Baggs, it's good to know that our dear Soop is being well nursed at home, with her beloved, and looking forward to seeing her son soon.
It is very good of you to keep us updated, much appreciated. Take care.
Thank you Baggs. It's lovely to know that she is being well cared for and a visit from her son will make her very happy I'm sure.
FGT...did you hear about the rumpus over the pub quiz? I hope the happy times continue for you and himself and it's good news next week too.
Dragonfly..prayers for you and that your DH continues to improve each day.
Gluhwein is a must methinks Brooke!!!
Redcar...well done on your bingo winnings.
Llfl..Enjoy the V and A
Good wishes to everyone.
I've got to fly, I was supposed to be up and out and hour ago.
Thank you Baggs. We miss Soop very much. I often think of those in the kitchen, particularly those who are struggling with ill health or have family who are ill.
I've managed quite a lot of cleaning today and a trip to buy birthday presents as well as a nap. There's only a small ironing to do. Have a good day all.
Hi all, I saw that neine in Urmston, I’ll be looking for smart watches at our quiz, particularly the team who keep winning!
Another ear suction today, only had it done in August, but I’ve now got a monthly payment plan which means I can go as often as I need to.
It’s been the last ‘warm’ day before the cold air creeps down tomorrow, I’ve looked out my thermals and gloves.
I hope for news on Mrdragonfly 🤞 all is well.
I hope all those, with germs, bad limbs or feet, even just a little fed up are feeling a degree better today.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments, Vienna is definitely a beautiful city. We’ve done more exploring today there’s so much to see and do, 3 days doesn’t seem anywhere near long enough
Tomorrow we head home - you’re right Jax it’s snowed in Inverness whilst we’ve been away 🥶
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
Glad you’ve enjoyed your city break brook. Lovely photos thanks for sharing. Some of us are enjoying holidays vicariously. 😊
Baggs thank you once again for being our bridge to thesoops
It’s good to know they’re looking forward to their son’s visit. Family hugs mean such a lot during tough times. I hope they can draw strength from one another. Please pass on my very best regards.
No, I didn’t see/know about those pub quiz shenanigans neine until a friend told me. How utterly embarrassing. Especially if they were local. Twits. It’s not as though they were competing for the town hall clock!
Hello kitchen people. Gosh, I’m shattered. I took my granddaughter to the V&A and we had a lovely day. Lovely, but exhausting! We had a delicious lunch in the Members Room and there was a craft activity which she took part in when we first arrived. She helped choose some Christmas presents in the shop for my great nieces and great nephew. My elder son was in touch when we got back to Kew with photos of the little house they’ve bought in the middle of nowhere, about two hours from Inverness. Tomorrow I’m taking granddaughter to her lacrosse lesson and my daughter is coming from south London and we’ll go out for lunch.
OH had a Beekeeping soirée this evening. He said he came joint second in the blind honey tasting and won the raffle.
Have a good evening and sleep 💤 tight. I’ll be in bed soon.
Lovely photos of Vienna brook, it looks beautiful.
It’s cheering to see photos of everyone’s holidays or city breaks, like fgt I’m enjoying reading about other people’s holidays.
A real November day today, grey, drizzly and feeling a little cooler. I’ve done the ironing and read the paper and not a lot else, but I’m still yawning! Boredom probably!
Night night everyone.
Lovely pictures Brook. My cousin has lived there for over 50 years but we have never been.
Sadly things have not improved in my corner of the woods.
Night night everyone.
A tough time dragonfly. I’m sorry there’s no brightness for you yet. Hope you can sleep and rest.
Thanks, Baggs, for the update. Lovely to hear one of her sons is visiting next week. The time will fly.
Pleased to hear Soop is comfortable and looking forward to seeing her son.Thank you Baggs.
Vienna is magical Brooke, so glad you enjoyed it.If you go again the Spanish riding school is amazing.
Dragonfly🌻
I’m missing driving but I know I wasn’t really safe so will have to get on with it.A busy week for us DH has a couple of hospital appointments, hopefully the doctors are now talking to each other!!It’s our twins 50th birthday on Saturday.(how did that happen) we have our northern DS and DiL coming for the weekend and celebrations planned.
Photo of Spiros having a quiet moment but, when he has his mad 5 minutes I’m sending him to Charleygirl. 🤣🤣
So good to hear your having some happy times FGT.❤️
Spiro is adorable
Hello kitchen people.
Love that cat!
Another busy day in Kew land. I drove my granddaughter to lacrosse. As I was parking someone whizzed round the corner and caught the back of my car. They drove off speedily. There is scratching and a slight dent. The car isn’t even a year old yet.
We met my daughter for lunch. It took her two hours to get from south London to Kew as the District line was down. By the time she went home the train was running again.
I am taking granddaughter to school very early as she has choir practice and then sorting out my things and driving home.
A fairly busy week looms. Waitrose tomorrow and a diabetes prevention talk. Tuesday is a telephone consultation about my forthcoming colonoscopy. Wednesday - U3A lunch and WI meeting in the evening. Thursday - hair cut and consultation with an optician. There is a U3A Art history meeting in the afternoon…
Have a good evening and sleep 💤 tight.
.dragonfly hoping for better news for you soon.
fgt I hope your DH’s chemo goes well this week.
It’s been very cold today but fortunately dry, as my family and some friends were scattering my godmother’s ashes in her orchard today. All went well then we went indoors for hot sausage rolls. She used to make them in industrial quantities and we always had them for lunch when we visited! Followed with eclairs, which she also made. This time it all came from M&S!
I’m really tired now as I was awake at 3.00, just dropping back to sleep when I got a text from my niece in Australia wishing us well for today. My phone is misbehaving so I haven’t got it on ‘do not disturb’!
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.
Ladyleftfieldlover what a buggeration for you! I had a lovely catch up with family earlier in Linlithgow. Then home to potter about. I've rested my dratted leg, put the bin out, put the frost cover on the car and washed all the floors as well as ironed. A pleasant day and I'm happy to be getting back to normal. Tomorrow is early childcare day so an early night for me.
Love to the Soops thanks Baggs for the news, glad Soop is being well cared for but would expect nothing less from her dear man.
Good evening all.
I have been quiet for a few days as I have been very down with this treatment pattern of the sun damage.
I know that so many of you have far more to worry about but that doesn’t help with my situation.
I so heartily regret sta ting the treatment before Christmas, if the GP has given me all the facts I would have delayed a few weeks.
I really do look a mess and it is sore and irritated all the time.
My nose is one big scab, dark and messy.
I really don’t want to be seen.
I am starting to cancel things as it is not going to look better any time soon.
I feel very sorry for myself and I am sorry to moan about it to those of you who wish it was the only thing they have to worry about.
It is as it is and I will get over it eventually.
Utbb, sorry you are feeling low. you are right though, you "will get over it eventually". This is a warm & friendly place to share our feelings.
My warm & friendly thoughts to you & to all in our soop's cosy kitchen.
Hi all, quite a busy, certainly chillier day. My friend and I went to a local makers fair, some lovely art, glassware, jewellery and others, I just ended up buying a card. Then we picked my son up from dropping his car in for a service, we all then travelled, not far, to my daughters for a roast chicken lunch.
Home, then meat draw, we won a prize and chose a boneless pork joint, great in the slow cooker for pulled pork.
You’ve been a lot busier llfl hope you’re now relaxing.
Spiros looks well at home Yia you must be pleased he’s settled.
Sorry to hear dragonfly
Sleep well tonight *Redcar 🤞
jaxjacky well done on the meat draw, pulled pork sounds good!
utbb I’m sorry that your nose is so sore and scabbed over. Hope it clears soon. What a shame that you are having cancel events because of it,
yia spiros looks very comfortable and very much at home!
Night night everyone.
utbb💐 I'm sorry you are feeling down. It will pass.
Yia butter wouldn't melt in that cat's mouth. He can come here anytime, where he would be loved and cared for, and he would notice such a difference in his life.
He is so handsome.
I have no heating or hot water here, just delightful. I spent a small fortune last week getting my two TVs fixed. No signal because blocks of flats are being erected in the Waitrose car park, which is around a mile as the road goes, but a couple of fences as the crow flies. The Building Manager will have an unexpected visitor next week. I have lost HD but I appear to be able to watch what I want, which isn't much.
