Good morning all from Glasgow, where a yellow weather warning is in place until tomorrow.
I ve had a dreadful night, with much discomfort and bizarre dreams. The dreaded cough is back and I suspect something is brewing, because my chest hurts,
Taking into account, everything that is going on, I am wary of breaking open my rescue pack.
Another busy day yesterday. In the middle of Sainsbury's, I saw a missed call from DH, informing me the lady, who was supervising the curtain hanging, had been trying to reach me.
The curtain fitter had arrived, but the painter hadn't painted the new baton, as requested.
Thankfully, Sainsbury's is only ten minutes from the church, so I made my way there.
The fitter said he wasn't prepared to come back a third time, and after inspecting at the baton, I made an executive decision and gave the go ahead.
After they were hung, I thought they looked great, but the parishioner insisted they were not hanging properly and the poor chap had to remove the pole and refit it.
She was correct!
I was sitting in my car, sending messages about items for the bulletin, when I didn't notice the young man, who types the bulletin, walking past.
I caught up with him and laughed when he said he didn't want to disturb me. I was messaging you! I said.
Although I was tired and famished, I accompanied him to the office, where I supervised the writing of the bulletin. This meant that I wouldn't have to proof read it later and read the many queries, he usually messages. ๐
It was after 2pm, when I got home. Sitting down to enjoy my well earned lunch, I noticed a missed called from the Golden Jubilee Hospital, but was was unable to retrieve the message. I had no idea, who had called. NHS calls are usually from a generic number, so I was curious.
I have the Jubilee saved on my phone, because that is the National Heart Hospital, but I knew it couldn't be a heart appointment.
Thank goodness for Google. I eventually retrieved the message and my colonoscopy is booked at the Jubilee for Monday 6th October.
I will tell my family a few days before it. Dollie and her parents are off to NYC on Friday for the Ryder Cup and I do not want to spoil their holiday.
Tonight we are having an Indian meal after the Vigil Mass with
Dollie, her parents, DD and SIL.
We were meant to have Dollie overnight, while the adults had planned to attend race night, which has now been cancelled.
The restaurant is a five minute walk from the church, so DH will drop me at my usual time and come back for Mass. It would be silly to take two cars.
I hope you are making good progress, Kitty and belated birthday greetings to your mum, Susan,
GrannyGravy, praying that the building work is at last going well, without any more surprises
Have a good day folks, I have to troubleshoot the parish website, it is so flaky, because it is a free app and the clergy won't pay for a more sophisticated one.
I have so much updating to do, but am having trouble logging in. ๐ก
Until recently, I hadnt noticed how nany parishioners relied on it for information.
Some baking is necessary and I have promised DH, leek and potato soup for lunch.
Another busy morning ahead!
I had a brief message from Blossoming, she is not up to interacting.โฅ๏ธ
Have a pleasant day folks.
