I had a bit of a purple thing going on and now it's moved to orange.

Strange isn't it?

My mother loved grey and I always said we have enough grey in this country without wearing it. It can look great though.

I've always been drawn to Autumn colours, but for the last few I've surrounded us in a riot of colour at home.

My beloved late mother was married in a sharp grey suit with pink netted hat.
She looked fabulous.
I'll wear any colour that suits me. I like colour. Could never be one of these people that always wears black, for instance.

Always meant to try those colourway consultations.

I always seem drawn to a grungy green top or coat and like to highlight with a swish of scarf in citrine, coral or turquoise.
Am trying hard to brake out of my comfort zonegrin

I had my colours done and it confirmed that was right to be drawn to pink and purple.

I have always been drawn to Orange, and I like a strong Green as well.
But clothes wise, I tend to wear all colours, less likely taupe shades.

Hiya Stripeygran, do you m8nd me asking if you see people's auras? or is this unique 😉 for you. x

Sara1954 Sun 12-Oct-25 19:17:37

Love pinks and purples, in what I wear and my home.
Really dislike grey and brown

TerriBull Sun 12-Oct-25 19:21:27

Purple for me, it has been for ages I also like teal of late.

how do you get your colours done?

Babs03 Sun 12-Oct-25 19:30:50

I love all colours but not brown or beige so much. Black or grey is ok when set off by bright colours. I suppose my favourites are teal and emerald green.

Esmay Sun 12-Oct-25 19:31:48

Cherrytree59 .
Are you artistic ?
Are you creative ?
Do you feel strongly about colours ?
I wonder if you haven't got synaesthesia like me .
Apparently children have a tendency towards synaesthesia, but creative artistic adults retain and develop it .
I certainly see people as colours . It doesn't present as an aura ,but as a feeling .
I also see days of the week or months and other things as colours .
It's something that I seldom share with other people in case they think that I'm a bit strange !
But being part of artistic communities has revealed that I'm from alone .

Scottishthistle Sun 12-Oct-25 19:38:36

Hiya Esmay, you are not by any means weird. Personally i find it interesting. Thought it was aura related. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Have a nice night. x

Scottishthistle Sun 12-Oct-25 19:40:12

Not strange, typo. Again.

Bright pastels are my favourite colours. I tend to go for the blues through turquoise, teal and then towards the greens . You’ll never see me in yellow or lilac , beige, cream or dry pale pink.

Primrose53 Sun 12-Oct-25 20:30:55

I am always drawn to coral colours for sweaters, lipsticks and toe nail paint.

Georgesgran Sun 12-Oct-25 20:41:24

I had my colours done too - pably15 it was very popular ‘Colour me Beautiful’ in the ‘80’s. A friend and I went to a sort of house party (like Tupperware) then ladies were seen individually by the Colour Consultant who analyzed skin and hair colours/tones tones to match up to one of the 4 seasons. There was a fee, but we then got some advice (mine was not to colour my hair) and a swatch of suitable colours. I still have mine swatch and stick to them - purples and pinks and never peach or yellow.

winterwhite Sun 12-Oct-25 20:44:47

Pillar box red . Never beige, brown or black.

kittylester Sun 12-Oct-25 21:17:36

Exactly what Georgesgran said except was a gift from DH.

Boadicea Sun 12-Oct-25 21:42:29

Blue, purple, lilac, teal, turquoise, that sort of range.

Not orange or green. Ugh! Especially not together, or orange and purple together - I remember as a child we had a set of tablemats with pictures of flowers on and I absolutely hated the one with orange and purple flowers on it although I like purple on its own.

I too often associate not just people but words with colours.
April is definitely red, March is green, (why?!)
I also "see" every word I hear, even in French or Italian but not in languages I don't know.
It was a long time before I realised that not everyone else did.

I do sometimes end up with clothes colours I don't really like because I buy most of my clothes from charity shops.
