Do you find yourself drawn to a colour?

I had a bit of a purple thing going on and now it's moved to orange.

Strange isn't it?

My mother loved grey and I always said we have enough grey in this country without wearing it. It can look great though.

I like royal blue and sapphire, and bright red. I’m always drawn to clothes in those colours when I’m out shopping. I think it’s because I’m a summer lover, I find autumnal colours quite depressing to wear.

Reds, blues and grey green or forest green are my favourites with camel, cream and grey for woollens. Black or navy for trousers.

I loathe pink, but like coral. Wouldn’t consider lime green, mauve or yellow.

I tend to go for the same colours in carpets and furnishings.

Turquoisey blues but it's been hijacked by a political party.

Reds and corals, not wishy-washy pinks, otherwise blue and more blue. Navy blue to tone it down.

Purple for me, it has been for ages I also like teal of late.

I also like teal of late.
Yes, teal as well, not as bright as turquoise but on the same colour spectrum.

Blues: my whole wardrobe is mix and match. I have tried adding in other colours but can’t seem to find a comfortable one somehow. Blue and white seems to be my combination!

I am a riot of colour .... especially since discovering Lucy and Yak!

Love colour.
Teals, blues, powder/baby blue,
Powder/dusty pinks
Black washes me out.

@Boadicea and Cherrytree59, it sounds as if you have synesthesia. It is where the senses merge and is actually rather fun. About 1% of the population has it. I have it, too, but in a slightly different way as mine is sound related. I sense colours for the different keys - G major is green, F major is orange, D minor is indigo, C minor, the key associated with funeral pieces, is black. B minor is remote and silver, whereas cheerful A major is red. This is just a sample. When I read, many words have different scents - my favourite is romance, which gives me a fragrant rose perfume.

When it comes to clothes, I love colour. I have found that Autumn colours suit me best so red, gold, burnt orange, brown, burgundy, green, peach and pink are the colours I wear most. I like blue but find that I have to be careful with the shade of blue and it is better if it is not the dominant colour - French navy is better than airforce blue. I prefer navy to black, which is very draining on me and leeches out all colour on my already very fair skin. The worst colour for me is grey, which gives me a corpse-like complexion. Not good. I have had a lot of compliments today on the outfit I wore to church. It was a Joe Browns dress in diagonal stripes of red, brown, white and burnt orange, which l teamed with a vintage St. Michael label open cardigan. The cardigan is brown with burnt orange lapels. Both items were courtesy of Vinted.

I love green, yellow and purple, but not all worn together or I will look like abruise!

I meant to add that the old rules of pastel colours for older ladies seem to have been thrown out, thankfully - unless, of course they are the colours that suit us best - and we are now able to find our own way with confidence as we generally know what suits us. Anyway, such dated rules were made to be broken. We might be older ladies but it doesn’t mean we want to dress as older ladies.

I love all shades of blue. Most of my clothes are blur.It is strange that the sea and the sky are blue too.It must be God's favourite too.Green must be his 2nd choice😊

I love autumn hues. I knitted myself a cardigan which has all the colours of autumn in the yarn, stunning.
I also like lovat green and dirty pink shades.

henetha Sun 12-Oct-25 23:54:23

Pinks and reds for me.
Although I do like blue clothes as well.

I like turquoise but not necessarily for clothes. We have a turquoise glass splash back in the kitchen and I love it. I look best in blues but I like most colours except yellow and not keen on orange.

Deep plum and purple, plus autumn colours spiced up with dull gold.

I plan my garden flowers each year with a colour theme. This year it was white purple and orange, next year it will be blue white and pink bedding plants.

I love purple and green, plus blue sometimes. These last 2-3 years I’ve also bought and worn a couple of orange summer dressses.

My walls at home are sparkly pale grey in my hall, teal spare bedroom and grey kitchen.

Sara1954 Mon 13-Oct-25 06:25:39

I love purple and teal together, it’s the theme of one of my reception rooms, I find neutral colours very depressing,
Winter clothes can be depressing as well, but this year, although brown seems to dominate, there are some lovely jewel colours around.

You have reception rooms? I am seriously impressed.

Our home is rather beige I'm afraid.

I like most colours somewhere in the range. Turquoise, coral and leaf green, pale and royal blue, some pinks, love cream shades too. Just bought a apricot top and a cream skirt. I used to have mid brown auburn hair, now I am white, which I love as I wouldn't be dying it so my colours have altered.

Flippinheck Mon 13-Oct-25 08:36:55

Most shades of blue for me and that is obvious to anyone visiting my home.
Blue is also the dominate theme in my clothes, though I do also like purples and reds.
I really dislike the sage greens, greys, beiges and muted blues that my late mother favoured. In my mind these are the colours of old age. Apologies to anyone I am offending. It is just what I apply to my own wardrobe.

Horatia

I've always been drawn to Autumn colours, but for the last few I've surrounded us in a riot of colour at home.

Me too.

TheWeirdoAgain60 Mon 13-Oct-25 09:01:12

Minion yellow!

Witzend Mon 13-Oct-25 09:06:50

For a long time now, it’s been all shades of green. Something to do with now preferring to be away from city centres, from being surrounded by buildings, etc. I need to be able to see green!

Musicgirl Mon 13-Oct-25 09:22:57

To add to my far too long earlier posts, my favourite colour of all is, and always has been red.

shysal Mon 13-Oct-25 11:05:38

Always blue, in any shade.
