Breakfast in bed, yes or no?

I have just read an excerpt from Baroness Glenconner’s book.
It describes how at house parties all the married ladies received breakfast in bed.

It seems a very outdated practice.

I cannot think of anything worse than eating in bed or even a bedroom for that matter.

Now a cup of tea is more than acceptable bit food a big fat NO!

Would you relish a breakfast tray in bed?

I have a friend who was invited for the weekend with her husband to a very grand house party. Neither she nor her husband knew about ladies being brought breakfast in bed, so they both went down for breakfast They couldn't understand why they were being glared at by all the men having breakfast, until a maid explained that her breakfast would be brought to her room
That was only about 25 years ago.

Reminds me of Downton Abbey! I always thought their breakfast didn’t look anywhere as nice as the one the unmarried ladies and men were eating downstairs. A cup of tea in bed is a nice treat sometimes, but I couldn’t be doing with eating in bed. I want to be up and about once I’m awake.

Me too. Wake up, get up, wash, dress, then coffee.

My partner and I always start the day with breakfast in bed if we're both here.
It could be any time from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.!
He is self employed and works from home so he can choose his hours. I sometimes still work away for up to two weeks at a time.
Sometimes he makes it, sometimes I do.
For him 1 - cups of tea and Marmite on toast while reading the news on his phone, for me toast and marmalade and a satsuma, three cups of tea and a mug of hot fruit juice (yeah, I know it's weird but it helps me go...) while I check e-mails etc on my laptop and we take our vitamins etc then have a game of Boggle...or two...or three depending on what day it is.
I often do my admin in bed as it's the warmest place!
I sit up and my plate catches any crumbs but I always have to clear crumbs from his side (and sometimes mine!) as he slumps and they go everywhere.
I never used to eat breakfast at all when I was younger, just up and out and eat around 10 a.m. but we value our time together and never get up without have had a really good cuddle.
We both dread being left cuddleless at some point in the future :-(
