Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Nov-25 01:21:31

I'm awake with pain in my feet again. I can't take painkillers just yet so I'm listening to audible in the hope it subsides.

Purplepixie Sat 29-Nov-25 01:39:32

Still awake here.
Head just will not switch off.

cornergran Sat 29-Nov-25 02:15:02

Just woken up after four hours, suspect that’s it but never mind. I’ve made TiB and have a biscuit, all without waking Mr C. Now we live in a bungalow with just a few steps to the kitchen although the process is easier it requires more stealth!

It’s mild again, dry outside just now although there is a yellow warning of rain for the day time. Now I’m awake I’ve also a head that refuses to switch off. It seems the skills to quieten it have left me. There are practical worries along with the family. I’ll get into a book soon, with luck will drift off to sleep at some point.

Hope the pain has eased off grandmab and you’re at least comfortable.

Off I go to the book. Hope most folk are sleeping soundly.

Like cornergran I have had a few hours and am wide awake now.
I came to bed quite late for me, around 9:30 and was asleep quite quickly but after four or so hours that is it.
This change in my sleep pattern came as a shock to me but I am getting used to it and accept is a the new normal.
I can’t be bothered at the moment to go down to make tea and my bedroom tea tray hasn’t been replenished, you really can’t get reliable staff these days!!!
I hope we all get through the night without frustration and possibly a few more hours sleep eventually.

Shirleyw Sat 29-Nov-25 03:41:23

Morning all, woke 3.23 so now back to bed with a cup of tea and doing a bit of scrolling before trying to nod off again. Once I go to bed I get to sleep really quick but wake so darn early, nothing is niggling me at the moment so it’s not that . Like another poster said, long gone are the days of sleeping right through lol.
Hope the weather isn’t as bad as they predicted. Off to see daughter and grandchildren later.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Gymstagran Sat 29-Nov-25 03:52:44

Hello everyone, I'm like you all, a very bad sleeper. I woke and checked the time, misread it as 5 and thought I'd done well. It was really 3, never mind. I've had my coffee and toast. Hopefully will drop off to sleep later. Will read and scroll until then.

JamesandJon33 Sat 29-Nov-25 03:53:09

Bore da everyone. I’ve been awake since just after twelve. I have a big evening coming up next week, at which I have to give a talk. So it’s all going round in my head. Be glad when it’s all over. Will try once again to go back to sleep.

HelterSkelter1 Sat 29-Nov-25 04:12:13

Hello non sleepies. Tossing up whether to go and make a cup of tea. I have water so maybe I will stay in bed until 6 and venture downstairs then. I must have fallen asleep at about 9 and when I first woke thought it must be about 3...and it was only half past 10!!
I would rather like a new bedside clock. A little travel clock in a leather case would be nice. There used to be so many of those for sale, yet I havent seen one for years. I never had one for a birthday present and always wanted one! Now is the time to buy one. I shall now investigate on line. Were they made by Timex? Has anyone got one from years ago? I suppose most people use their phones.

Erica23 Sat 29-Nov-25 04:28:22

I’m joining you ladies. DH got up thought he was just going to the loo, but he didn’t come back, so wide awake then, so here we are both downstairs 😕
I’m going for my usual Saturday afternoon walk with two friends, it’s going to be a long day.

Nannytopsy Sat 29-Nov-25 04:33:50

Hello! I was awake at 2 for a while and did Wordle. Went back to sleep and have just woken again. My eyes are drooping so I will try again.

Erica23 Sat 29-Nov-25 04:34:37

Helter. was looking yesterday at bedside clocks, I use my phone, but the trouble is it lights up then stays on for a few seconds, I don’t think I’m going to be able to buy one online as I need to know how bright it is, I wouldn’t be able to sleep with a light shining, but then how would you be able to see it.
I remember the ones you mean, haven’t seen them for years either,I don’t think they’d be big enough for me I’d have to put my glasses on 🙄

cornergran Sat 29-Nov-25 04:49:50

Still awake here. About to head off for my second cup of tea.

I saw two of those little clocks in a charity shop recently helterskelter, by the time I’d pondered and decided one would be useful for our travel bag they had both gone. There are some traditional ones advertised on Amazon along with the digital versions. I’m holding back, there was something about an older clock that appealed.

.

HelterSkelter1 Sat 29-Nov-25 05:32:58

Lots of bedside clocks on Amazon, John Lewis, eBay and Etsy but very few leather ones. Varying prices. I really need to see one in real life. The vintage ones all look a bit worn out. I think I will look in a jewellers shop next time in town.
They used to be 18th birthday presents I seem to remember. And were often pigskin more than a smooth leather. I really want one now!!! Time for a coffee now.

grandMattie Sat 29-Nov-25 06:04:34

Was awake at 12 feeling very hot, then at 2 feeling cold. Managed to persuade myself to go back to sleep. Only just woken up.
I need to be alert as I’ve got a busy day. (As the joke went, “be alert, we ned more lerts”! 😆

Mollygo Sat 29-Nov-25 06:23:30

Needed a drink so I’m standing in the kitchen feeling chilly waiting for the kettle to boil. Busy day ahead, so I think I’ll stay up, but I could be persuaded to snuggle down for another hour.

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Nov-25 06:37:57

I managed to get back to sleep for a couple of hours, then awake again. I took paracetamol and that's me just woke up. But no chance of sleeping now so I'm up having a drink.

Aveline Sat 29-Nov-25 06:55:40

I don't like to look at my phone when I'm awake during the night in case the blue light keeps me awake. I'm awake now though. Bad cat cat woke me at 5 after I'd managed to drop off after a earlier wake and trip to loo.
He really knows how to wake me and get me out of bed by noisily chewing my phone charger! I don't want the lovely boy to become a crispy critter!

TerriBull Sat 29-Nov-25 06:59:02

Back from the Cotswolds, as lovely as the bed there was, slept better in my own bed. I thknk I was missing my memory foam pillow. Still awake 3am, but went back to sleep nearer day break.

JamesandJon33 Sat 29-Nov-25 07:24:42

HelterSkelter. I have one of those clocks beside my bed. It belonged to my mother and I guess is probably about 50 years old. Still going strong .

BlueBelle Sat 29-Nov-25 08:14:07

Had a very strange night Went to sleep, sitting on the floor, leaning against my armchair ( don’t ask I m just a floor person, always have been) watching TV last night and woke up at midnight oh no, so filled my hot water bottles and went up to bed must have gone straight back to sleep and didn’t wake till 5 then after a wee, I dozed off again till 7 a huge nights sleep for me. Hence the reason I wasnt chatting on here
Have a good day everyone

Aveline Sat 29-Nov-25 09:01:00

Gosh. Well done on being a floor person BlueBelle. It's years since I could get down or the floor or, even worse, get back up again!

BlueBelle Sat 29-Nov-25 13:27:18

I m just lucky Avaline I m not a skinny little thing (14/16) never been part of any type of exercise groups rarely been in a gym and don’t do any daily exercises but I m still at 80 fairly flexible can touch my toes with straight legs can touch my nose with my toe etc etc so I m happily accepting it as a fluke if nature 🤣🤣🤣and I find the floor comfortable and I suppose familiar to me but if I have company I m a normal person and sit in a chair like a good girl

Aveline Sat 29-Nov-25 13:44:03

Wow! So bendy!

BlueBelle Sun 30-Nov-25 03:48:18

Anyone around 3 .47 I m awake and not feeling very sleepy yet

Greenfinch Sun 30-Nov-25 03:52:36

Yes, I woke up half an hour ago and am struggling with Wordle. May read for half an hour as that is more relaxing.
