Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?

BlueBelle Wed 26-Nov-25 04:39:34

Morning Erica You ll always find someone around to have a chat with on here Sciatica is horrible as you can never find a comfortable position Have you got a comfy chair you can snuggle down in and to go back to sleep for a bit longer
I m going to see if I can have another hour It feels very very cold on my nose and now my hands typing this although I m wrapped up like a blooming cocoon

BlueBelle Wed 26-Nov-25 04:41:12

Morning Aldom you weren’t there when I was posting to Erica I wasn’t purposely ignoring you 👋

Susan56 Wed 26-Nov-25 04:52:55

Morning all.I have had a good sleep so don’t think I will get back to sleep now.It has been a sad time for my family and I think all the emotion led to me being exhausted and so a good nights sleep for once.

grandMattie Wed 26-Nov-25 04:54:26

Good morning everyone. Woke up at 2 am, but managed another couple of hours.
I never have any problem getting to sleep, it’s staying asleep that is my problem. It started mid-menopause when I had a frozen shoulder. It was so painful that I barely slept and woke up early. (And absolutely no codeine, it makes me dreadfully nauseous) Having said that I have always been a lark, but it what is termed an “extreme lark”!
On the rare occasion I decide to have a pill, I take 1/2 antihistamine which works a treat.
Hope your sciatica settles, Erica.

Hello everyone. I’ve been awake for about an hour, family issues whirling in my head. Sleep has been elusive since fibromyalgia arrived 34 years ago, I’m used to it although it’s easier to manage when my mind is quiet. Time for a bathroom visit then back to rest with the iPad for company. Hope you’ve all had enough sleep to manage your days. Go gently.

I've lain awake for hours. I'm staying at DS. Read a bit, listened a bit, had a glass of water. There's a TV in this room but I don't know how to switch it on. I can't go downstairs to make a cuppa as I'd wake them up .
I'm not very good at sleeping in other people's houses though this bed is more comfy and warmer than mine at home.

DS has a day off work tomorrow and is taking me to a country park for a dog walk. It's bound to rain.

They have been lovely to me and I am grateful. I was met at the station and was cooked a lovely meal with wine and we had good chats with both DGC who are at college and uni now.
It's almost time for the gm thread!!

Good morning everyone, been awake since 4.30. Busy day ahead. Waiting for a call from our surgery, then driving to sort out lots of different things that need doing.

Wyllow3 Wed 26-Nov-25 05:38:17

Morning all, not a good night, Bring on more daylight!

BlueBelle Wed 26-Nov-25 05:41:10

I m not good at sleeping in other people houses either grammareto I suppose you don’t fed you can toddle around if you want and you are aware of being quiet to not disturbed anyone I’m fine if I m in a travel lodge so it’s not the being away from my own bed or anything

Georgesgran Wed 26-Nov-25 05:51:53

Another good night for me.
Almost 4 hours solid sleep, which is more than enough for me and I’m happy with that. A busy day ahead - not that I ever have daytime naps. I’ll watch a bit of tv before I get up and dressed.

Aveline Wed 26-Nov-25 06:07:34

Awake since 4 again. So annoying. I put off getting up in case I fell asleep again but no luck. Will get up now and start the morning jobs. I'll soon be sitting by a roaring (electric) fire with a coffee and a good book. The cat's happy to see me anyway.

BlueBelle Wed 26-Nov-25 06:11:09

Sounds good to me Avaline I ll soon be sitting by my ‘roaring: gas fire drinking my coffee and eating my toast

Erica23 Wed 26-Nov-25 06:15:19

Thank you GrandMattie I’ve managed to get comfy on the sofa. Unfortunately DH couldn’t go back to sleep either so we’ve just had breakfast, we’ll be hungry again by 10am !
I don’t feel tired as I’ve had 7 hours sleep, but it’s still too early to get up, I’ve. been a lot worse since the clocks changed.
The news is all about the budget today, so might watch a bit of You tube.

Erica23 Wed 26-Nov-25 06:44:55

Hope you’re feeling warmer Bluebelle it does seem very cold this morning. Our heating has been on since 4am but still not warm enough.
My left foot is always cold, with full on pins and needles because of the sciatica, it’s a flipping nuisance. I’ll need to have a long walk today.

Mollygo Wed 26-Nov-25 10:01:10

Hope you’re all up and warm now.
Slept straight through till 7.25 when I got up to hang up the washing. I wondered why the dog hadn’t disturbed us, till I discovered she was nursing one of DH’s slippers.

Aveline Wed 26-Nov-25 11:05:16

Wow straight through till 7.25! Well done.
I'm just back from doing lots of jobs and feel so sleepy. I surely can't have a nap at 11am?

Georgesgran Thu 27-Nov-25 02:05:17

Taking a cup of tea and a caramel wafer up to bed now - it’s 2am and I’m hoping for my usual 4 hours. I prefer to stay up at night, rather than go to bed earlier and wake at stupid o’clock. Night all.

Grammaretto Thu 27-Nov-25 02:46:32

I shall try to get some more 😴 . At least we don't have to get up for work any more or at least most of us.

Mollygo Thu 27-Nov-25 02:58:22

Awake for no reason today. I guess I’ll read a bit and see if that works. At least I can take that tablet that says 30 minutes before food or caffeinated drinks now.

Usedtobeblonde Thu 27-Nov-25 03:27:27

Morning early birds.
I woke about half an hour ago and just lay thinking of nothing really.
It feels positively Saharan after the frost of the last couple of nights.
I can’t find my phone to check the temperature.
I may read a while, I don’t have to be up for anything later so I can sleep in if I doze off later.

Nannytopsy Thu 27-Nov-25 03:28:26

Morning! We are at DDs and came to bed earlier than usual so I have had 4 hours but still! Hip is hurting and their dog is on our bed! I will try again …

Usedtobeblonde Thu 27-Nov-25 03:29:09

It is a balmy 10 degrees, unbelievable really.

Grandmabatty Thu 27-Nov-25 04:05:00

Morning to you all. Can I join you? I've been awake for a couple of hours with pain in my feet. I'm contemplating getting up for a cuppa.

Wyllow3 Thu 27-Nov-25 04:16:31

Join you in a cuppa. No moon, or stars, I hope the sun still comes out later.

grandMattie Thu 27-Nov-25 04:27:37

Morning. Been awake for about an hour, gave up and am now drinking TIB and reading.
I agree about the temperature yo-yoing, hard to keep up with….
I believe it’s an El Niño year.
But we badly need rain to fill up reservoirs, aquifers, etc., just not in torrential amounts on odd occasions, just nice and steady.
