Just that really. I’ve just turned 70, and although I always used to dress really smart for work, comfort is my main priority now, as I suffer from very bad back pain, and seldom leave the house now. After a long (and quite expensive) search for comfortable trousers/tops to wear in the house, I finally came across M&S Modal rich pyjama tops and bottoms. They are great to wear as lounge wear, not just PJs? (Wouldn’t wear them outside though) but they actually (in my mind) don’t look like PJs, more like casual lounge wear.
My question is - I need a comfortable bra!! I’ve been wearing Sloggi comfort tops for a while now, but the last couple of bras that I’ve bought haven’t been up to their usual standard. My size hasn’t changed, usually a 36C, but they just don’t seem to fit as they did.
I’ve been looking online for an alternative, but haven’t been able to find one. It has to be non-padded, pull on (i.e. no hooks), giving enough support, and fairly thick straps. Does such a thing exist?
Please share your bra purchase experiences and tell me if you ever found the best fitting, most comfortable bra you ever had. I desperately need to find one! I have purchased many bras online, and have had to send them back (thank you Royal Mail for your pick up service) but I would appreciate any recommendations.
I would be prepared to pay a reasonable price for the perfect fitting comfort bra. I did look at Bravissimo, but their cup sizes are large - think they start at a size D cup?
Can anyone recommend their most comfortable bra?
Thank you.

Phew, I was beginning to think I was the only one in the world to fasten by bra at the front then spin it around.
It’s not rocket science, is it 🤷♀️
It's ages since I bought one from Sainburys Their sports bras are very comfortable.
I've also bought a very similar product from Avon .They stock more interesting colours .
A very busty friend buys Belvia bras from the net .

Why do you all need to get your hands around your back to fasten your bra I never undo mine I just step into mine have for many years
You must have very slim hips. I am jealous!
I’m another one saying get properly measured and not at M&S. I was once measured there around a thick winter jumper. I have larger cup sizes and go to bravissimo. Since using them I can say I’ve never had an uncomfortable bra. I think possibly wearing a too large band size is where most problems stem from
The last bra I bought was a lounge bra from Sainsburys, nice soft cotton and no fancy lace to irritate. Sold in packs of two and really cheap.
I bought an Anita twin from Bella di Notte, more expensive than I’d like, £62, it is so very comfortable, wide straps, no padding or itchy seams. But definitely fasten in front then pull it up.
A cheapie pull on one off Temu or AliExpress. I have fibromyalgia plus other things and it's the only one I can bear if I have to wear a bra. I ordered a few. FB sells them at vastly inflated prices.
In 2023 I had the misfortune of being diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram (no symptoms, no lumps and stage 3! - lesson here, please attend for mammogram when you are invited). I had surgery as well as chemo and radiotherapy. The instruction ref bras were, wide straps, padding if needed and definitely no wires. I found the most comfortable bra ever, and still wear them to this day. It was a George at ASDA post surgery bra, only available on line. It does have fastenings, but front fastenings which are easy to do up. It comes with removable pads too. These bras really do get my vote.
Another vote for M&S Flexifit bras. I recently lost a lot of weight so needed to buy new bras and wanted to stop wearing underwires. These are so comfortable, wash well and are very supportive.
I’ve always put my bra on back to front and spun it around. I’ve tried front fastening but the aren’t adjustable in the same way as back fastening and seem to quickly lose their ‘oomph’.
I like M & S Flexifit in both wired and unwired versions. So comfortable and with good support.
I've always been measured and fitted by M&S. I wear wired bras because as a 34E or sometimes an F, I need the support a wired bra gives. Their quality has dropped though and they certainly don't last as long as they used to.
I agree with others that comfort doesn't seem to be easily found. I'm not that interested if a bra looks pretty, I just want it to fit me properly and have straps that don't dig painfully into my shoulders.
I have yet to find one but intend to give the ones SHYSAL mentioned on Temu a try.
I cannot wear any bra which has a fastening - i hate anything hard on my back. I usually wear Primark or Matalan. So easy to pull on and so easy to wear.
In previous years I've had a professional fitter measure me - more than once, The recommended bras are usually so tight that I can't wear them for more than 30 minutes.
If I’m at home all day, I don’t bother wearing a bra.
But when I do, it’s a bra/vest type with pads sewn in.
Bought mine from Primark two years ago.
I also like the bralets.
Comfortable bra?! Surely an oxymoron,

I have yet to find one- sorry. The one I have prefer now I bought from Bravissimo several years ago but it is getting worn out. Due to losing a breast to cancer years ago it is even more difficult finding decent bras. I have no idea who designs them but they clearly don't have breasts- or even one breast!
I also use Bravissimo and find that they last reasonably well, though they often seem to discontinue the ones that I like. I need support and, unlike others, prefer a wired bra for this reason. They also do un-wired and pull on bras so they might be worth a look Freeandeasy?
You can speak to a fitter on the phone and if you give them your measurements they'll tell you what is likely to fit. If they don't fit you can return them for exchange or refund.
They also do un-wired and pull on bras so they might be worth a look Freeandeasy?
One of my friends can't get into a normal back closing bra and has found that front closing maternity bras are ideal for her.
(please forgive the repetition in my last post, I can't edit on my computer)
Bazza exactly Bazza, I have often wondered if men design bras, I cannot believe that after all these years someone hasn`t designed a bra that is comfortable and easy to put on and wear!

My feelings too!
Nandalot I also pull my bra up over my hips and I can assure you they are definitely not slim
Haven’t worn one since I was 20. 54 years ago.
The most comfortable bras I've ever had came from the Cancer Research people. They were recommended for post-surgery. I had a mastectomy with DIEP reconstruction and these bras fasten at the front. Very soft and comfy. Even 18 months further on and I'm back to 'normal' bras (though non-wired, for ever), I still sometimes wear them.
Hate bras! Haven't worn one for years now. I'm not hugely well endowed so what was sold as a sleeping vest with built in support from JL works so well I bought six of them. Unfortunately they're not selling them anymore which is gutting. They actually look like a smart vest top if the nicely wide straps show under a blouse. I'm hoping they'll get them in again 🤞.
Rotator cuff injury means I have to fasten bra in front and then turn it round to back. I did try front fastening but found them uncomfortable. The most comfortable bra is one by Fantasia brand though wouldn't say its a "leisure" style. I usually go for bra fitting as body changes almost every year. I find John Lewis best with M & S next.
