I had a very early night and was asleep by about 10.00 pm which is very unusual for me. I was so tired all day yesterday, but here I am again. It’s as though I can’t stay asleep for more than four hours.

MayBee70 Sun 22-Mar-26 02:37:09

I’ve just had a cup of coffee as I’m going away at 6am and am still packing things. And I’ve got to put grass seed down and put moss killer on the path. I can’t put the seed down while the dogs here in case it gets into her paws and I’m hoping it grows while I’m away. Is it just me but, on the very rare occasion that I have an argument with someone it makes me quite ill and I can’t stop going over it all in my mind trying to make sense of it. I envy people that can just move on from such things. It’s a good job I’m going away; it should clear my head.

J52 Sun 22-Mar-26 02:46:10

I’m awake as well. After a long run of sleeping well, I’ve had a couple of nights when I just can’t get to sleep.
I’ve listened to a story, looked at the I pad in the dark downstairs to avoid disturbing DH. None of this has helped. I’m going back to bed now to try again.
I hope you have a good holiday MB70 and can forget about your neighbours.

MayBee70 Sun 22-Mar-26 02:59:07

Thanks J52. I’ve always got on with my neighbours so it’s knocked me for six.

JamesandJon33 Sun 22-Mar-26 03:24:40

Morning all. Hope all goes well for you MayBee and you have a good visit.
We are about to seed the bottom of our garden. It was all veg beds but a bit too much for us now.
Quiet day in the offing, but a walk into the village for the Sunday papers first thing. 3 mile round trip. Best done when the sun shines.

I am awake with my restless legs, it's hell on earth. It's a side effect of my kidney disease but I have an appointment with my kidney specialist in a few days so will ask about getting some relief from it.

I am permanently exhausted through lack of sleep, it is so debilitating.

crazyH Sun 22-Mar-26 04:22:50

After tossing and turning , i’ve decided to give up trying and make use of my time. So I retrieved one of the many photo albums and tore up (didn’t want to use shredder for obvious reasons ) the photos that my children would never be interested in. So, one down 7 or 8 to go. If I do one every night , I think i could the lot in about 10 days.
I shall now to sleep . If I dont, so be it. I’ll play some word games.
Good night !

crazyH Sun 22-Mar-26 04:24:19

Am sorry for those who are awake, due to illnesses - that’s tough 🌺

Aveline Sun 22-Mar-26 09:09:52

I stopped contributing to this thread as I found that it really helped me to just relax and go with the sleep flow. I'm sleeping pretty well and if I don't, well, it's OK.
My reason for posting today is wandering if changing the clocks upsets everyone's sleep patterns. The clocks go forward next weekend. My sleep often goes haywire for a bit after that then settles. Is it just me?

Georgesgran Mon 23-Mar-26 01:54:14

Heading up to bed now. I’ve had DD2, DGS2 and their dog here most of the day, so a relative early night for me. I always tidy up at bedtime, so that I come downstairs to a house that just needs a quick dust/vacuum.
Hope MB70 has a good break and the problems are resolved in her absence.

Georgesgran Mon 23-Mar-26 04:03:22

I’ve given up - about every 10 days or so, I don’t sleep at all. It doesn’t bother me, I’m fine afterwards and never sleep during the day, unless I’m unwell. I’m off downstairs for tea and a biscuit and will wait until dawn to get ready for the day ahead.

Nannytopsy Mon 23-Mar-26 04:48:40

I came to bed relatively early for us (11 ish) but t now I am wide awake. Tummy is really uncomfortable which doesn’t help.
I’ll try again.

Grammaretto Mon 23-Mar-26 05:26:48

I've been awake since before 3am. I probably had a few hours up till then. It will have to do. I may have a nap this afternoon.
I'm going to my DGD school concert tonight so had better be awake for that!

BlueBelle Mon 23-Mar-26 05:50:01

Avaline.i really do think the key is acceptance once you stop worrying you are much more ikely to drop off
The clock change makes no difference to me I still do about the same rhythm of wake /sleep

I seem to follow a similar pattern. I wonder if it is the phases of the moon! There doesn’t seem to be an explanation. I slept like a log last night!

Doodledog Mon 23-Mar-26 06:42:47

Another for-hour stint for me.

Esmay Mon 23-Mar-26 12:33:17

I went to church then a lunch social which was nice.
Came home and crashed out for a couple hours and then started to attack the overgrown area which is now into year 38 of the dispute with my neighbour .
I realise that from our conversation during the week that he contradicts himself all the time.
More promises about addressing the issue.
It was hard work .
His brambles have entwined themselves around a tree .
Came in and fell fast asleep until the early hours .
And a restless night ensued .

cornergran Tue 24-Mar-26 03:41:40

A similar pattern here georgesgran and j52 except I seem to run in weekly cycles.

No excuse for not sleeping. It’s been a fun, busy day with good friends who are staying for a few days. I know I’ve been anxious about food, I’m out of practice , so far so good and we’re out for lunch tomorrow (today!) so no need to fret about that.

Oh well, I’m happy enough. Warm and comfortable as I hope you all are. .

JamesandJon33 Tue 24-Mar-26 05:13:14

Woke just on four this morning. Just finished Spider and Solitaire and read a silly book for a while. Mound of ironing to do this morning and heavy rain to look forward to later.

Aveline Tue 24-Mar-26 05:15:48

Oh joy. Wide awake at 3am. It's very windy here and the windows are whistling. I've been lying awake trying to trick myself into going back to sleep. No luck. Will just get up.

RosesandLilac Wed 25-Mar-26 03:54:43

‘Morning 🙄, tossing and turning and giving myself a headache.
It was blowing a hoolie earlier but seems to have quietened down now.
Well, I had an unexpected phone call from the hospital yesterday afternoon, the CT has shown up nodules on both lungs, probably indicative of malignancy so awaiting lung cancer clinic appointment to see what happens next. I’m oddly accepting of this, it’s what I suspected as an ex smoker.
What will be will be. I haven’t told anyone yet.
Given up trying to sleep, so glad I have a Tassimo in my bedroom.

Bellasnana Wed 25-Mar-26 04:45:31

Oh Roses I’m so sorry you’ve had bad news about the CT scan. Sending you a big hug. You are very brave but I’m sure it can’t be easy.😞

I’ve been awake for an hour as I’m a bag of nerves thinking about family things that are weighing on my mind. I’ve just made a cup of tea and will no doubt be tired when it’s time to get up.

These are the times I miss DH even more than usual. He was always so supportive and got me through so many difficult times. He wasn’t a worrier and I’m sure my constant anxiety must have driven him nuts, but he loved me anyway.

RosesandLilac Wed 25-Mar-26 06:24:38

🤗🤗💐*Bellasnana*, the wee small hours can be very lonely, can’t they?

JamesandJon33 Wed 25-Mar-26 06:53:10

Hope all goes well for you Roses

Luckygirl3 Wed 25-Mar-26 09:14:06

I am sorry to hear the bad news from your scan Roses and hope that you will have some clarity about treatment soon.
