A bit of a rarity for me as I'm usually asleep at this time. I stayed up late as I was researching something online. I did actually find what I was looking for (electric shavers and replacement heads - I'll get one or the other).

I'm hoping to be up around 8am but I won’t set an alarm.

JamesandJon33 Wed 01-Apr-26 02:59:03

I ‘ve been reading for a while but thought to sign in now it’s nearly three.
April is here hurray!

harrigran Wed 01-Apr-26 05:13:39

Only came to bed at 12.30 and been awake since 4.30. I was so tired last night I thought I would sleep longer.
You are in my thoughts Roses, it is a lot to process.

JamesandJon33 Thu 02-Apr-26 05:46:04

Woke at 4 to a great big moon shining in through the window. Lovely outside. Silent and silvery.

Grammaretto Thu 02-Apr-26 05:54:58

I have had hardly any sleep so just made a cuppa and will try for an hour before facing the day.

I hope you've managed some sleep after your appointment Roses but perhaps there's too much going through your head.

grandMattie Thu 02-Apr-26 06:44:25

Me too, grammaretto, I’ve been awake for the last 3 hours. It really annoys rather than worry me. I’m like a wrung out rag when I have so little sleep.
Much in my heart and prayers,*roses*.

Bellasnana Sat 04-Apr-26 04:41:52

I’ve been awake for half an hour and am having a cup of tea as it’s too late to go back to sleep and too early to get up.

It’s so quiet you could hear a pin drop but my brain is working overtime as usual. 🙄

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Apr-26 04:46:54

Morning Bellasnana! We are visiting and came to bed earlier than normal. I have been awake since 1.30. I’m not in pain nor uncomfortable, just annoyingly wide awake.

Bellasnana Sat 04-Apr-26 05:21:54

Hope you manage to get back to sleep Nanatopsy. It’s worse being awake when you’re not at home.

Georgesgran Sun 05-Apr-26 02:32:39

I’m taking a cup of tea up to bed now. It’s about my usual time to retire. The wind and rain are so wild, I don’t think I’ll try to sleep. TV’s on for 24 hours in A&E.

JamesandJon33 Sun 05-Apr-26 02:54:16

I’ve been awake since around one. Just playing Solitaire and I read for a bit. Quieter outside now so will try to sleep
. DD and Dyson in law coming for lunch , so I have to be a bit more on the ball.
Pasg Hapus everyone

Good morning. No sleep as yet. Just cannot switch off despite a fairly busy day which included a walk. My head seems so full of thoughts and worries and "what ifs" once I'm in bed and it's dark and quiet.
Well, it's not so quiet tonight. Storm Dave is
raging outside. The wind against the house is very noisy. OH is snoring softly.

Rather than get up I read my Kindle and
played a couple of games of Sudoku on my iPad.
The family are coming over to ours for dinner tomorrow so another busy day. I am now worrying myself that I really do need to sleep or everything will be an uphill struggle.
Think I'll go downstairs for a cuppa (decaff) and wrap myself up on the sofa and watch a bit of TV. I seem to nod off that way.
Night night to others awake in the wee small hours.

MG55 Sun 05-Apr-26 03:30:12

Wide awake club here. Been awake for a while.
Checked outside for any wind damage but everything seems fine.
Wondering if I have enough food for the family buffet lunch tomorrow and going through the timings for the hot food!
Hope everyone nods off soon.
Happy Easter 🐣🐣

Vincennes Sun 05-Apr-26 03:31:46

I've always looked after grandchildren youngest is 9 now. My daughter informed me he won't be coming anymore. Doesn't like having to get up early to be dropped off as she starts work at 8 am. His brother who is almost 16 is looking after him. All they do is stay indoors play games online. I feel I served my purpose and no longer needed .

SophiaxScot Sun 05-Apr-26 04:13:07

On my 2nd tea break of the night on Tesco nightshift,2 hours to go then off till Wednesday,This is how boring my life is atm that Taxi home after last shift of the week is a highlight 🤣

fancyflowers Sun 05-Apr-26 04:27:17

I'm awake again with my restless legs, which won't let me sleep. I have set my alarm for 09.20 but I don't know if I will get up at that time. I might sleep in konger if it takes me a while to drop off again.

JamesandJon33 Sun 05-Apr-26 04:42:17

I haven’t gone back to sleep yet. 4 hours awake. I’ll be a wreck in the morning

Doodledog Sun 05-Apr-26 04:44:50

I’ve read for 90 minutes as per my resolution, but have finished my book and am still wide awake. I have no real plans for tomorrow but would rather not spend it feeling tired.

BlueBelle Sun 05-Apr-26 06:38:33

Vincennes it happens I afraid they grow up and no longer need us if his mum starts work at 8 he would probably have to be up 7 or 7,30 to be dropped off so you can see why doesn’t want to come to start the day so early especially if he’s got a brother to look after him at home
Don’t worry about him playing games it’s what happens. Why not invite him to sleep over once a week and then you could take him out for the next day but don’t be upset if that’s not what he wants they do grow out of us. He’ll maybe grow back in again when he gets older.

HelterSkelter1 Mon 06-Apr-26 02:20:04

Wideawake now at 2.00 and thought it must be 6.00. I seem to sleep in 2 hour chunks at the moment.
I will make a cup of tea and then hop onto the Books thread and see what GNs are reading. I picked up a book by Kirsty Wark the radio presenter and it's really good so far. I shall dip back into that as well. I hope everyone else is fast asleep.

HelterSkelter1 Mon 06-Apr-26 03:02:17

Looking at the newspaper headlines with my large mug of tea and I wondered what the first thing the Royal Families do when they get back indoors after dressing up for Easter Sunday.

Does Catherine throw her hat in the air, on with her jeans and flat shoes and flop on the sofa with a large mug of tea as well. The boys race around the garden with their dog/dogs. Charlotte cartwheeling across the grass. Camilla in comfy slippers and a G&T. KC off to his greenhouse. Would love to know,

Grammaretto Mon 06-Apr-26 03:39:50

Hello night owls!
I don't want to join you but here I am again.
I've been up and made and drunk a large mug of tea.

I suggest that the Royals do exactly those things HelterSkelter ☺️

HelterSkelter1 Mon 06-Apr-26 03:48:56

Maybe Camilla is wideawake as well and is reading the Books thread!! And KC is snoring quietly in a Royal way.
I have made a 2nd mug of tea and now back to my book set in Arran.
Grammaretto It is comforting knowing I am not the only person unable to sleep in the UK.

Jalyn Mon 06-Apr-26 04:32:47

Another one here who has been awake for 2+ hours. I've done wordle, quordle, wordlinkle and now scrolling through various GN threads. So annoying as I have a busy family day tomorrow. Expect I'll be ready to sleep again when it's time to get up 😢

BlueBelle Mon 06-Apr-26 04:49:05

Well I ve had a very good night went to sleep about 11.30 and just been woken up at 5.20 by my fire alarm going off ….Now it’s a new fire alarm, had it about 4/5 months, there is absolutely nothing happening no shower or cooking, obviously why on earth would a newish fire alarm go off for no reason at all ……. Very unnerving.
