Not too bad a night. No long sleepless hours, but I feel quite tired still. Not to worry, a quiet day ahead .

Grammaretto Wed 08-Apr-26 03:18:09

I woke about an hour ago 😔
I hope that's not it for the night. Nights are long.

BlueBelle Wed 08-Apr-26 05:24:31

Hope you’re all ok 👋🙋‍♀️

Doodledog Wed 08-Apr-26 05:30:03

I’m wide awake and have been for about an hour. I woke after a nightmare and had to check what Trump had done overnight. The nightmare was unrelated to the war, but I am not feeling very relaxed.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 08-Apr-26 05:56:03

Slept through till 5.30 thank goodness. The last few nights I have slept very poorly waking every 2 hours and Tuesday morning was a very early wake up.
I shall go and make a large mug of tea. Another sunny day forecast. What a treat.

grandMattie Wed 08-Apr-26 06:16:03

I have been sleeping a bit better recently. Mi still wake up around 430 but I’m an early riser. Normally, it’s the quality of sleep which bothers me.
I have loads of very odd dreams which usually puzzle me.
I have found the acupressure thing of massaging my middle fingers, to send me back to sleep, very helpful recently. Maybe some might like to try it.

JamesandJon33 Sat 11-Apr-26 03:38:27

Really bad night and I ‘m wide awake now. Been up and down to the loo…several times. Wearing.
But I shall read for a while and then try to sleep again .I ‘ll try the finger thing

Grammaretto Mon 13-Apr-26 03:12:21

I hope you got to sleep eventually J&J
I tried the acupressure so it may have been why I fell asleep.
I came to bed early but was woken about 11pm by my DS phoning me 🙄 to see how I was!

BlueBelle Mon 13-Apr-26 05:09:54

The last few nights I ve gone to 5/5.30, very unusual, but I m not complaining

GrannyIvy Tue 14-Apr-26 02:50:39

I went to bed around 10 ish feeling so tired then awake at midnight with my mind racing over family issues and read my book now looking at Gransnet. I just seem to be struggling to slow my mind down and sleep. DH it a snoring beside me. Nowadays I have pockets of two hour sleeps and never sleep for any long period of time. Oh well I will have another go at nodding off. Night night ….

HelterSkelter1 Tue 14-Apr-26 03:35:34

Hope you have gone back to sleep GrannyIvy. I have been sleeping in 2 or 3 hour chunks for a long while. Some times I can go back to sleep quickly, other times I am awake for a couple of hours. I try not to let it worry me and read. I always have water close by in case it is thirst waking me up or I go and make a cup of tea.
DH sleeps in a separate room so I can put the light on and have a potter about and not disturb him.
It is such a surprise if I sleep for a long stretch, but there's no rhyme or reason for why that happens.

JamesandJon33 Tue 14-Apr-26 04:33:28

Just woken up, which isn’t to bad as I went to sleep at nine.

grandMattie Tue 14-Apr-26 04:39:17

I’m awake, having gone to sleep around 1030, late ish for me. But I’ve been awake at least an hour.
I’m very very busy today and have been a bit worried how I’m going to cope with it all. This week seems to be jam packed with things going on and I really don’t need that much to do.
Well done for trying the acupressure, grammaretto. It might work or it might be the placebo effect, but whatever seems to work…

BlueBelle Tue 14-Apr-26 04:55:16

I think we are designed to have two or three short sleeps as we get older Grannyivy go with the flow and once you ve accepted it you ll relax and probably sleep better also I find going to bed later helps

GrannyIvy Tue 14-Apr-26 07:44:07

I did eventually get back to sleep but only for another couple of hours between 5 and 7 am. Hopefully tonight may be better at least no pressure to get up and moving early today.

grandMattie Wed 15-Apr-26 05:07:36

I didn’t sleep well, having lots of naps rather than a good few hours. It’s exhausting.
I was hit, threw off the duvet, with the inevitable result if becoming cold, pulling it up again, repeat, all night. But if I change it to a lower tog duvet, I’ll be cold… mi don’t enjoy this intermediate time of year.
Happy birthday for yesterday, roses, mine is today and I got the lovely (?) early present yesterday of being told I was pre-diabetic. I’m not overweight, eat only what I cook myself, don’t indulge in sweet stuff, take plenty of exercise as I no longer have a car…. I’m very cross about it. Perhaps that’s why I had a bad night?

JamesandJon33 Wed 15-Apr-26 06:42:13

This sleep thing is very strange isn’t it ? 9:30 straight through to 6:36 . Haven’t done that in years .

NanKate Wed 15-Apr-26 08:09:35

Happy Birthday grandMattie. 💐

I would say I have one decent sleep about every 6 weeks. I accept that things won’t change.

I too worry when I have had another bad night and have a busy day coming up. Nothing I can do about it sadly.

RosesandLilac Fri 17-Apr-26 03:32:37

👋🏻
After several great night’s sleep I’m wide awake trying not to get stressed about the pending results of my PET CTscan. I’m trying to be pragmatic but failing!
Isn’t this spring wonderful? I don’t think I have ever seen so many bluebells in the woods behind us and the trees seem to be greening up very quickly.
There’s a woodpecker nesting in a dead ash tree directly behind the house, I do so hope that we’ll see the babies on the bird feeders for the first time in several years.
I’ve asked my friend who’s a gardener to do my garden regularly, I can’t manage it at the moment and I really need to get on with ordering some bedding plants for my pots.
I do hope you’re all sleeping well x

Bellasnana Fri 17-Apr-26 04:23:53

👋🏻 RosesandLilac. I’ve been awake for an hour and have given up trying to sleep.

No wonder you are feeling apprehensive re your scan. Having been through the process with DH and both my sisters, I really feel for you. Waiting for results is agonising. 💐

Spring is lovely isn’t it although it is rather different here in Malta. We don’t have bluebells or very many birds but the fields are green and the wild flowers look so pretty especially when the poppies come out and mingle in with the yellow flowers. As soon as the very hot weather arrives it is all gone as the sun burns everything.

Well, I have made my tea so will drink it whilst it’s hot. I foresee a nap later although it is not easy once the wretched diggers start up. The noise shakes the foundations and goes on relentlessly. I shall enjoy peace and quiet until 7am when it all starts up again.

I hope you managed to get back to sleep.xx

grandMattie Fri 17-Apr-26 05:18:05

I feel awful for you R&L; I wish there was something I could do to help other than pray/think of you and send you virtual hugs each time.
Bellas, noise is horrible; I suggest you get ”adopted” by your friends during the day 😆. I thought migratory birds stopped in Malta, so you’d have loads in the season changes.
I love spring and for years hoped my birthday (two days ago) included two of my favourite things - English bluebells and asparagus! The bluebells in Bristol all seem to be the Spanish sort, unlike the several woods near us in Kent which were emphatically English! The worst year was during the first lockdown where I had/saw neither….
Hugs to you both 🤗

HelterSkelter1 Fri 17-Apr-26 05:57:16

Awake now properly. I did wake at 1.00 but luckily went back to sleep. I was very tired yesterday after a busy 4 days in a row which was unusual for me. My busy days are usually more spread out.
I can smell bluebell woods from my childhood in SE Kent. Cycling home with bluebells in my bicycle basket...we knew no better in those days. They sadly didn't last long in a vase. The spanish ones proliferate in my garden here in N Surrey and I love the touch of blue amongst all the new ßpring time green.
RosesandLilac I hope you get your scan results soon. The waiting does take over your mind and once you are awake that's it for the night. Be kind to yourself.

Esmay Fri 17-Apr-26 06:30:47

Over the last two days I've done more physical work than normal (these days) and I've slept better .
Maybe gardening is therapeutic .

Moth62 Fri 17-Apr-26 06:40:59

I was lying awake for ages a couple of nights ago and looked for this thread to post on, but couldn’t find it! I remember, Grand Mattie, you told me to look in threads I’ve posted in, but it must have been a while ago since I last posted, so it wasn’t there either. I gave up in the end! I haven’t been sleeping too badly recently, but I did that annoying thing I do when I have lots going on in my head of waking up after a solid 90 minutes of sleep and then tossing and turning for hours. Could I just also add my very best wishes to you, RosesandLilac. I, too, have been where you are now and know how awful the waiting is. thanks

grandMattie Fri 17-Apr-26 07:32:05

Moth62 Acupressure - massage your middle finger from wrist to nail, both sides, thumb one side fingers the other. You’re supposed to do it 30 times per hand, I usually do about 10….
