I agree. No longer worrying about my lack of sleep has been a great thing; it no longer preys on my mind. I sleep no better but am no longer anxious about it.
Been awake for nearly two hours. I’ll probs have a nap after lunch.

JamesandJon33 Sun 08-Feb-26 05:55:40

Good night last night. 9 to 5:20, with two wee breaks.

BlueBelle Sun 08-Feb-26 07:19:50

Midnight till 6 is wonderful for me, definitely going to bed later has worked for me and also total acceptance
Have a great day everyone

Esmay Sun 08-Feb-26 07:21:34

I think that my subconscious mind keeps me awake.
I've got Communion today and as I drifted off last night my mind was full of the things that I need to take for craft.
I also thought to myself that a good night means not feeling tired in church .

And what happened ?

A very bad night !

watermeadow Sun 08-Feb-26 12:04:25

I don’t take my iPad to bed but am very often awake in the night. Last night, fed up with being too hot in bed, I went and got it to look for a cooler duvet.
There was a message for me, sent last evening so I replied. This morning I wondered if my daughter had been surprised to receive my answer at 1.49. I hope she’d turned off her phone and hadn’t been woken up.
It’s easy to forget that most of the world is asleep when we nocturnals are doing normal things like ordering a new duvet (4.5 tog)

grandMattie Mon 09-Feb-26 04:48:28

I’ve had another short, fractured night. It’s really annoying as I’ve been sleeping reasonably recently. Ah well.
Hope that you’re all tucked up in bed, warm and asleep!💤

BlueBelle Mon 09-Feb-26 05:12:45

I m tucked up warm in my sleeping bag, under my duvet, and then under my lovely furry blanket and my hot water bottle is still warm (as you can imagine I unfortunately don’t have central heating)🤣
Had an unremarkable night 12 till 5 , so my norm.
Out to lunch with some school friends today, I ve come to realise there’s only one I have anything in common with, so
I m not really too excited, but it’s all about getting out after being stuck close to home weatherwise
Anyway have a good day everyone.

HelterSkelter1 Mon 09-Feb-26 06:13:27

I fell asleep about 10.00. Woke at 3. Back to sleep I think straightaway after a loo trip. And have just woken up.

I had planned to write down my sleep pattern for a week to see if it all evens out, but keep forgetting. So I shall start right now after a good night.

I can't hear rain nor wind so that's good. And it doesn't feel too cold. Getting on for half way through Feb. Hopefully the kitchen won't be too Arctic as I am off down there for a coffee.

Enjoy being cosy OP and GM.

DH had a bit of a nightmare last night, woke me with a shout at 12:00. Then went straight back to sleep. Me? Not until gone three. Then he woke me with a cup of tea at 5:40. ?????

Gymstagran Tue 10-Feb-26 02:51:37

Thought i'd done really well, looked at my watch without specs on and thought it was 5am. With specs on it really was just 2am. Ah well, hopefully dose off again soon.

cornergran Tue 10-Feb-26 04:51:54

Slept for an hour and that’s been it. Been enjoying reading since and had no idea the time had moved on so much. The last few nights I’ve had several really decent sleeps, I’m not complaining at all. The most taxing thing today is a trip to the tip, I can probably manage that grin.

Hope you dozed off again gymstagran and the everyone else has had a good enough night. Back to my book now.

Esmay Tue 10-Feb-26 05:22:47

I seem to drift off at about eight and wake up in the early hours .

JamesandJon33 Tue 10-Feb-26 05:39:30

I went to sleep about 10 and when I woke up I thought it was morning. But it was only just past 12. So disappointed.

Gymstagran Tue 10-Feb-26 06:00:34

Thanks cornergran i managed another 2 hours until now

grandMattie Tue 10-Feb-26 06:15:30

I had an odd night. I never get up for a wee, but this morning? It was about 0130. Took me a while to get back to sleep.
I also had a load of bizarre dreams, one involving matching black velvet covered buttons!
Hope everyone has had enough sleep to keep going.

HelterSkelter1 Tue 10-Feb-26 07:04:40

Now I am remembering to write down my hours of sleep ...or non sleep, I am surprised that both nights I have had almost 8 hours although very disjointed. Yesterday I was busier than normal and tired by 9.00.
I shall carry on recording them for a week or more.

JamesandJon33 Wed 11-Feb-26 04:23:14

I’ve been awake since half-one. My brain is in overdrive. I have to be up at six, so am afraid to go back to sleep now. I’m bound to oversleep if I do.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 11-Feb-26 05:05:37

Awake at 3 then slept till 4.15. So not bad. Almost 7 hours.

I also would fear sleeping through an alarm and missing a 6 am wake up call.

Have done Wordle and will read the news headlines then carry on with my book. Have a large mug of tea and its too warm for a hot water bottle top up. I hope everyone is still asleep.

mum2three Wed 11-Feb-26 05:17:51

Wide awake and raring to go at 4am. Sadly, I have to be quiet because of the neighbours. I need to buy a house in the middle of a field so that I can get started on the day's work instead of creeping about until 7.

ferry23 Wed 11-Feb-26 05:25:55

I finally remembered to come back on to this thread just to make sure I wasn't alone with my insomnia! I fell asleep in front of the TV for about an hour and a half around 10pm and since then have dozed for half an hour twice. I've given up now - come 11am I'll be able to sleep for England. angry

I have a new meter being fitted this morning and a boiler service late this afternoon, hoping to be able to grab an hour between the two.

grandMattie Wed 11-Feb-26 05:33:12

Wow, helter, some night!
I had my regular 5ish hours, but no weird dreams remembered.
My regular hosting of the AgeUK FAB cafe this morning in my church. It's a bit restricting as only two of us are church hosts, and the other lady is rather sociable and very scatty.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 11-Feb-26 05:51:52

Yes GM now I look at the hours I have written down I have had 3 nights with a 1st sleep of almost 6 hours. Asleep by 9 and then awake at 3.
No idea why, but I have had my evening meal early at 5 for those 3 nights. And the days have been a little busier than normal.
I shall see how the rest of the week goes. Fingers crossed it will continue.

BlueBelle Wed 11-Feb-26 06:55:06

Slept through most of the evening !!! Then went to bed at midnight and went through till 4 had a wee and back till nearly 6 so had more than my 5 hours plus my downstairs napping time that ll do me off to work at 8 so all good

HelterSkelter1 Thu 12-Feb-26 04:43:10

Asleep by 9 I think and awake at 4.00. Again 7 hours. What is different?
Early evening meal at 5.30. Then a banana and a glass of oat milk at 7.00. It doesn't sound like a fun life but I have many worries so to sleep from 9 till 4 is so helpful.

I hope others on this thread are still asleep.

grandMattie Thu 12-Feb-26 05:06:35

Glad that you have managed such a good night.
I usually go to bed around 9, but read and “gather wool” until 10ish.
I had 6 hours last night. I didn’t have a nap as I was going to my book group and didn’t want to be late. Even the men enjoyed the book, which had been my choice. I was really pleased.
