It’s been about romantic love and feelings for at least 130 years maybe longer.
If it had been William and daughter ( hair always looks good and pics are full face not a glimpse of nose) it would still be weird for Valentines Day.William and Catherine released lovely photos of the two of them together.

They have not released all the names. They told you they released all the names.

I celebrated Valentine's Day with my kids their entire childhood. Here in the US, the schools have Valentine's Day parties where kids get to exchange little cards and candy. My own mother gave us Valentine's Day gifts my entire childhood, so not a new thing. My husband and I have never celebrated Valentine's Day in almost 30 years.

Nothing to do with romantic love in everyone's house. I believe I love my husband romantically every single day and do not believe in buying overpriced crap that will die.

It is a lovely photo of Lily and Harry which makes no difference in any of our lives.

I wonder how differently this thread had gone if it had been William and Charlotte in the OP.

I think it’s a lovely photo of father and daughter, but I am saddened that like Brooklyn Beckham, Harry decided to publicly eviscerate his family.
If there were problems they needed to be discussed privately and not made into a regularly aired saga.

Here in the UK Valentines Day has been about the love and romance between a couple or even for a boy to give a girl flowers or a card who he barely knows.One of my DD’s was presented with a rose at the bus stop when she was 17.

The OP was about her hair, not Valentines Day. The thread descended into a bunch of people being upset because, checks notes, people who live in the US are following US customs and posted a lovely photo with a father and daughter.

It wasn’t a natural photo tho was it? Either fake or as another poster says, heavily doctored.

Here it's about declared or undeclared love towards one's partner or someone who the sender of the card may have their eye on in a romantic context, or as a joke. It's obviously morphed into something quite different in the States.

Are you joining in the condemnation of a woman who was going through surgery and cancer treatment, and wanting to keep her medical history private? The photo was supposed to reassure the public that all was well.

I don't know much about what happens in the USA so can't really comment.
Ask me what happens in France, and I can tell you it is a day for lovers. They don't give cards to family and friends there, but usually have an intimate celebration like a champagne dinner for two with maybe a piece of jewellry involved!

Anyway, what I find weird about all the celebrities calling their various children their Valentines, with an s, is that they must feel the need to have at least two or three or maybe more Valentines, maybe because they're so hungry for adoration from multiple people? Meghan and the Kardashians fall into that category.

No, I am pointing out the hypocrisy.
