Celery is one for me and also those tiny little corn cobs you get in Chinese cuisine. The other day I had a jackfruit smoothie. Yuck, sounds nice, tastes vile.

Ham, French fries, tomato sauce, mashed banana, banoffi pie-though I like non-smashed bananas and toffee flavoured stuff! They just don't mix well together for my taste.
Any sort of sea food other than tuna or ready-made battered fish.
I think a lot of these dislikes are more to do with the texture, rather than the flavour.
And I would never eat liver, tripe or other innards!

Liquorice and anything with a similar flavour eg fennel, aniseed etc. And I have never been able to stomach any form of cold meat.

More of a drink than food but I hate tea. How anyone can bear to pass it across their lips I just don't know.

Anything in a shell. Blue cheese. Snotty eggs. Fresh tomatoes. (and I have tried) Offal. Not too keen on Marmite.

Raw oysters. Scarred for life on my one and only attempt to eat one. Snotty eggs as named by my mum years 50 odd years ago. Eggs with runny whites. Still can’t eat them

Anything with artificial sweeteners in it including stevia, anything with palm oil or rapeseed oil, having to check slaughter codes on all the meat I buy. Download Yuka you’ll all be horrified.

Cheese - never liked the stuff but wish I did as its in so many dishes in cafes and restaurants !

Rocketstop2 Thu 19-Feb-26 16:22:38

Rollmop herrings, tripe, liver, black pudding. Oysters, mussels, whelks.
Pilchards or sardines in tomato sauce - olive oil is fine. Pork pies. Pigs in blankets. Sourdough bread. Camembert.
Pretzels. Wild rice. Green apples. Butter beans.

Peas! I am veggie and eat almost every vegetable but I can not abide PEAS! Those pesky little things get into everything! They seem to sit at the top of my mouth and refuse to go down my throat! I have never been able to stomach them!

Lilyflower Thu 19-Feb-26 17:19:49

Lentils, yuk. Sprouts, kimchi and other soured food, butternut squash. Nutella except in Ferraro Rochers. Plain yogurt.

Purplepixie Thu 19-Feb-26 17:20:34

Mushrooms. fresh tomatoes, oysters, liver, kidneys, brassica of any sort, smoked salmon. Could go on but for some it is their slimy texture. Brassica taste bitter with a sulphur undertine.

pen50 Thu 19-Feb-26 18:14:45

Potatoes. Egg yolks that have been cooked hard (love them soft though). Uncooked cheese. Liver other than calves' or chicken. Cinnamon by itself (okay in a spice mix). I can force most of these down for politeness other than potatoes and raw cheese, but I'd much rather not.

One of the low points of my life was when, as a nicely behaved and eager to please ten year old, I was sent to stay with a friend of my mother's when mum was having a hysterectomy. The whole family gathered round to watch me eat the evening meal - omelette topped with grated cheese, and chips. Had mum forgotten to tell them what I wouldn't eat? Or had she told them and they'd forgotten, or deliberately chosen to ignore? I ate - or rather, swallowed without chewing - a bit, claimed I was full, and went to bed very hungry.

I like most things and will try new foods but there is no way I would eat octopus or tripe. I don't like any meat that is supposed to be served rare, such as game birds although I will eat a good, rare steak. I could live without blueberries but I eat them with other berries as they are supposed to be healthy.

Gracey Thu 19-Feb-26 18:56:00

Halloumi.
What on earth is that all about?
It's sour and pretty tasteless - and even when grilled it's like eating squeaky polystyrene. I give it a wide berth and really do not
understand it's popularity.
Cucumber
Watermelon
And woe betide anyone who adds a slice of lime rather than lemon to my G&T.

Granny14 Thu 19-Feb-26 18:57:49

Coconut. I can detect the flavour of it in biscuits. I also dislike the flavour of licorice in herbal teas. Seems to be added to a lot of them. Fruit flavoured chocolates yuk.

madeleine45 Thu 19-Feb-26 19:01:19

I cant eat any cheese, it makes me ill. In our family you had to try things not just say you didnt like them and as my father said, Give her her due she has tried from gorgonzola to craft cheese slices, and no good with any of it. A real problem these days as cheese seems to be added to so many different things as a cheap ingredient. Dont care for garlic much but love onions, celery and mushrooms go into much of my savoury menus

Treebee Thu 19-Feb-26 19:15:44

Oh yes, milk on its own, Jaffa Cakes (it’s the orange jelly) and Cadbury’s Crème Eggs which make me feel unwell just to see them.

JustkeepswimmingDonna Thu 19-Feb-26 20:50:21

Baked beans. I have never liked them. I wish I did, but I just don't like their powdery texture.

JPB123 Thu 19-Feb-26 21:24:06

Oh tripe, chick peas, butter beans, the white of an egg.
