Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley , but with a slight chill with all the Sahara dust making it feel colder than it is .
The usual bus journey into Bicester, meet and chat to those I know .
Health wise OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Durham. Still dark, but I’m promised a dry day with a high of 12. I’ve laundry to hang outside. I usually wait until later to post after I’ve read others, but I’m up and about, as I need very little sleep.
So busy yesterday, just at home, but I didn’t stop - pleased with my efforts.
I’m going to check on my rental house this morning, then coffee with a friend this afternoon. We usually do mornings, but she has a couple of appointments today. Must contact my electrician and also ask when the gardener is starting up again, and the house insurance is to finalize - looks like I’m changing provider.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning Mick and those who follow. It's 9° and slightly damp in Polmont.
Yesterday I had a quiet day pottering. It was a lovely day and it was nice to be in the sunshine. My chives are growing. Dgs1 will be happy. He takes a handful at a time to chew. 🤑
Sadly my feet were very painful last night with lots of nerve pain. It's very annoying.
Today is early childcare day so I've had one coffee already and about to have my second. As usual for a Monday, boys to school/nursery then home to potter and nap before picking them up later. Dgs1 has football training and dd will pick up dgs2 later. Dsil didn't appear yesterday to put out the bottle bank so it'll stay put for another fortnight. It's annoying as I rarely ask for anything from them. I assume he forgot and I don't like reminding him. In the afternoon I'll do an hour in the school library. Right! Second coffee time. Have a good day all

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It’s 7C here with a promised 12C. Not holding my breath.
I had a dreadful night and a, feeling like a wet rag atm.
I’ve got nothing to say, so shall shut up.
Lovely blossom, corner, what is it?

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dry and dark north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where the forecast isn’t clever for the rest of the week - can’t complain as we’ve had some glorious 🌞days already in March, more will follow!

The Murder Mystery was brilliant (another Bucket List ticked) and I guessed correctly that the bride killed the groom…unfortunately I was overruled on our table of 8 (mainly men 😡) who insisted it was the groom’s mother! I refused to believe a mother would kill her son (rarer than rocking horse poo) and sat with a smug smile at the denouement…😇

Sorry to read of Mr Baubles leaking…I remember the Staff’s last hip op was the same and deemed normal but it scared me🫣 I’d have blue lighted him back to Gobowen without my nursing friend popping in and giving the benefit of her expertise and experience!

A lovely quiet few days baking and cooking in my tiny kitchen after my busy weekend will be just the ticket and I hope you all have something that pleases you too today x

Grandmabatty Mon 09-Mar-26 05:34:47

GrandMattie sympathy. I hope you can find time for a nap

Ashcombe Mon 09-Mar-26 06:06:04

Good morning from a damp and misty day Torbay. Yesterday the fog didn’t lift until after dark making for a very dismal atmosphere throughout the day.

Would it be possible for one of your neighbours to help with the heavy glassware for recycling, Grandmabatty? Just a thought.

Hope you can rest later, grandMattie.

Today I have to be up and out early for a hospital appointment for an echocardiogram as a follow-up to my valve repair nearly four years ago. I have booked a taxi as I’m not walking well enough to go by bus (arthritic knees!) and I have to be there by nine. Initially, I was seen annually, but I think it’s likely my stay in hospital last year regarding sodium deficiency meant I missed it last year.

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from s somerset, misty, foggy dull and fingers crossed for a pop of sun at teatime

My house has cooled, too much for me and my bedroom was too cool but I am not moaning, I have managed on and off with no heating or hot water for around two months this winter. Heating engineer is coming this morning and I think he will arrive at 8, I hope so. Brand new boiler for me, good quote for an exact replacement with an 8 year guarantee

Tbh it is good to know I could still do it. I have a large comfy sofa in my living room, any longer and I would be sleeping downstairs with remnants of the stove warmth.

I am hoping to be counting my blessings by this afternoon, the boiler will be working constantly for several hours to get some warmth underfloor and into the building fabric. Reassessing surviving without boiler input. I am doing ok, I still have enough smokeless ovals for three years, going by what I actually used. Logs enough for two years more.

A step at a time for me today, playing it by ear

Grandmabatty Mon 09-Mar-26 06:10:51

Ash my neighbours are older than me! That doesn't mean they aren't strong, but generally they are up later and I'm away by then

Grammaretto Mon 09-Mar-26 06:13:06

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Hill snow forecast.

I woke about 4am. I don't know why.
I had a quiet day yesterday, some housework, some gardening and half an hour of knitting in the sunny garden listening to desert island discs.

The film at community cinema was Quartet. It's old now but still good.

I'm going with a friend for a walk reccie today as we are leading it for real in May.

The murder mystery sounds fun Pantglas
I hope you manage a nap later gMattie
A nuisance about your feet Grandmabatty
Like you I seldom bother to put out the bottle box. I may drag it out soon because today's the day.

Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Mon 09-Mar-26 06:28:28

Good morning, another dank, foggy start here in south Glos, it didn’t clear at all yesterday.
I don’t think I have ever dog walked in such thick fog as yesterday morning, very chilly too. Tiddler and I wandered around, I kept to the level as I simply cannot do hills at the moment.
A friend came for coffee, she did most of the talking 😊
Best wishes to all 🌹

Good morning from Malta where a cloudy day is forecast with a high of 16°C. It looks like the rest of the week will have unsettled weather.

Did absolutely nothing yesterday as I had no energy at all.

Had a very long FaceTime chat with DD2 and DGD on their 7 hour drive to Gulf Shores, Alabama for a softball tournament. It is Spring Break there so they will be there until Thursday then do the long drive back. I don’t know how DD2 does it but I’m glad DGD is doing so well for the two teams she plays for,

That is annoying that your bottle bank didn’t get put out Grandmabatty. I know the feeling as I asked DS to take my gas heater down to the garage for me before he went away but it’s still sitting in the living room taking up space I require for other purposes! I’ll probably be a martyr and do it myself!

We have strategically placed bottle banks here, so I take what little glass I have to those otherwise they are only collected on the first Friday of the month which I am likely to forget,

I must get going today as I have to go out for shopping and to the ATM for some cash. I hate having an empty purse even though I have a card.

Just had a message from DD3 to say she didn’t go to school today as she’s unwell so can I pick the boys up at 1.30.

Hope you feel better later grandMattie, that’s how I was yesterday. You need a rest I think.💐

Best of luck with your hospital appointment Ashcombe. Very wise to take a cab.

Wishing you all a good day.🤗

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m quite sad to see the return of rain, the last couple of days have been so beautiful.

Thank you for asking after DH. He had a call yesterday from the orthopaedic doctor and has to go today for assessment. I didn’t know this but our nearest hospital where he had the surgery doesn’t actually have an orthopaedic department so we have to go to a different one. The wound is still leaking.

Apart from that, not a lot. I’ve a Sainsbury’s delivery at lunch time and will walk the daft dug three times throughout the day as usual.

Hope you manage a restorative nap later gM.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Morning Mick, morning All. Another grey, gloomy day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Damp, chilly mist was in the air all day yesterday. A morning carrying on labelling folders in my best printing in the hope the labels remain readable to others. My handwriting is dire. Future proofing the paperwork. Mr C insisted grumpy me should go out in the afternoon. We drove to an independent garden centre we’ve not visited for years. Only 15 minutes away. Fabulous plants, a new cafe run by a retired firefighter, we’ll be back.

A small piece of furniture is being delivered late morning, if there’s a dry bit I’ll whizz outside and plant the double primrose that came home with us yesterday. Once the furniture has arrived it will be play the what goes where game. I’m looking forward to it. Mr C? Definitely not!

I’m not sure what the tree is grandmattie. It was here when we arrived, looks like it was in the original planting for the development in 1985. Those clever identification apps say plum or cherry, it doesn’t fruit. I asked our gardeners the first spring we were here. The response made me laugh - it’s a tree with pink blossom. No matter, it’s a joy to have it in the view from our kitchen window.

Hope all is well and reassuring with the echo ash. Mr C hasn’t had one since his mitral valve repair three years ago, his first and only checkup after six months included just an ECG. He was moved to a two year list which is fine except when I last checked that clinic is running 142 weeks late. He seems well, we just hope and will follow instructions to see a GP if concerned or summon an ambulance if very concerned.

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a damp but bright Cornwall. The mists here were wonderful yesterday, swirling around very mysteriously as I took myself off to church. The service was lovely. Three young people gave their testimonies before heading off to the beach to be baptised in the sea after the service. I couldn't go to the baptism but I assume they all, including the pastor, wore wetsuits. 😃

Afterwards I took a bus to Wetherspoons and sat working out which hotel to book for my little break later in the month. I can only find one that doesn't allow dogs so that's the one it will be.

Today I'm off to my daughter-in-law's in the next town to have a good catch-up and I think she's making lunch for us. Yum.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Mar-26 07:04:40

Good morning from a foggy and grey S E Essex.

The burglar alarm man is due here just before 9am, then I shall go to the gym.

The Imp will be here for his weekly sleepover so I will pick him up from school.

Hope today is kind to you 🙋‍♀️

Buenos Dias again from sunny Spain!

Yesterday was a free day; had a walk to the local very busy Sunday market in the morning, where I found a long sleeved t-shirt, and a mustardy yellow cardigan which were bargains and too good to miss! I took lots of photos of the brightly coloured stalls
I then searched out a supermarket which had duct tape, as my suitcase needed repairing after it got ripped during baggage handling.
Mission accomplished, had lunch then started a new book.
After dinner lots of us repaired to the bar area where a live band performed, and most of us got up to dance!
I am amazed by the number of steps I have done whilst here, well over 12000 every day, which is a lot for me!

We drive further south today to the Murcia region and a new hotel.

Picture is the view from our hotel.

kittylester Mon 09-Mar-26 07:11:09

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire.

We have new cleaners today. They are doing a deep clean to begin with - starting at 9am!! Panic.

We had a lovely day with 2 of our grandchildren yesterday. DGS3 drove them here, ate us out of house and home and then drove home to their house. The bit he forgot was letting his Ma know that they had got home safely!

The flowers are from the garden.

Have the best day possible.

Gagagran Mon 09-Mar-26 07:11:55

Good Morning all from a very misty, central south coast. It looked like the film set for s Sherlock Holmes film when I peeped out this morning.

A busy day yesterday but a quiet one on the agenda today - just a bit of ironing following the laundry session yesterday. I used to have at least 15 shirts to iron every week when the children were in school and DH and I were both working and in the days when formal wear was de rigueur. I think the record was 17 on one occasion!

Hope you manage a catch up nap today GM. I seem to get one after lunch willy nilly!

Kind thoughts to all strugglers and hope today brings some ease and comfort.

Redcar Mon 09-Mar-26 07:22:39

Good morning everyone from a misty/foggy mid Essex. I hope it will clear this morning. Yesterday was grey and misty all day. I went for my usual walk and met up with some dog walking friends. I did some batch cooking, beef casserole, one portion for last night’s dinner and two portions to freeze, also some tomato and red pepper sauce for pasta. I’ll have some this evening and freeze the rest.
Today I need to clear the ironing basket and clear the dining table of the pile of papers that seem to live on it!

ash I hope your hospital appointment goes well today.

baubles it’s good that your DH has an appointment with the orthopaedic department to check on his leaking wound. Hopefully they will be able to reassure you both and sort out the problem.
karma fingers crossed that your boiler man arrives on time and replaces the faulty boiler quickly so you can be warm again.
grandmattie sorry you’re feeling rough this morning, have a rest today and hopefully you’ll feel better later.

Have the best day possible everyone.

fancyflowers Mon 09-Mar-26 07:27:02

Good morning all, from a grey North Yorkshire. I'm only up early because I have a cold and my restless legs have been playing up during the night.

A bit of ironing to do, and DH and I are going to clear out some boxes from the under stairs cupboard.

Then I will start preparing the vegetable lasagne for tea. Not a very exciting agend I'm afraid.

Sympathy to all who are battling illnesses and coping with forgotten promises.

luluaugust Mon 09-Mar-26 07:31:28

Good morning from a grey Peterborough. We had a very good Sunday lunch at Stilton yesterday and then laid around talking in the afternoon. Travel home today.
Hope all goes well Ash.
gM hopefully a nap later
Best wishes to all

dragonfly46 Mon 09-Mar-26 07:33:11

Good morning from misty Leicestershire.

We had a lovely weekend with the family marred by the fact that yesterday I foolishly stood on a chair and fell backwards onto the hard kitchen floor. I am now in agony and will see if I can get a doctors appointment.

I will now go back and read your posts. Have a good day everyone.

monk08 Mon 09-Mar-26 07:41:55

Good morning all from a misty Black country.
My steamer is leaking so need to buy a new one maybe go and look for one today, will see if DH has any other plans.
GM hope you manage a restorative nap.
Ash hope your appointment goes well, DH is waiting for an echocardiogram.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Jaxjacky Mon 09-Mar-26 07:54:05

Morning from a misty S Hants, our days are grey at the moment.
Ouch dragonfly I do hope you are just bruised.
I’m back on the voluntary phone today for the first time since my hip debacle, hope I remember what to do!
Have a gentle day all.
