Fitted sheets

After having to manipulate my bottom sheet again to put it straight I am left wondering if any fitted sheets have strong enough elastic around the edge to stop them wandering around when used?

Perhaps you’re doing to much ‘hmm hmm’ in the evenings Lily I sleep alone and mine don’t go anywhere 🤣

If you have a deep matress you need to make sure the ones you buy are for the deeper matress I had to get rid of some when I bought a new bed with deep matress.

Same as Bluebelle 😂

Get yourself a set of 'sheet suspenders' or bed sheet holders - they clip onto the underside of the fitted sheet and stop them from going anywhere. Absolute game changer - you can buy them on Amazon, eBay etc and they're not expensive.

I sleep alone, move around in bed a lot and my "deep" sheet doesn't move. I even have difficulty removing it when changing the bed as mine I think is superglued.

That’s true. Mine have to be at least 16” deep.

I have those sheet suspenders from Amazon. I think some sheets shrink a little and end up slipping but these keep them in place. They are so easy to use.

I gave up on fitted sheets a long time ago. Hated putting then on the bed and ironing them was worse. I use flat sheets with hospital corners and they stay in place perfectly,

Tenko Fri 27-Mar-26 13:24:01

I’ve never ironed sheets , fitted or flat . I just hang them straight out of the machine .

Dunelm have a good selection of fitted sheets in different depths. I buy a 32cm depth for my thick memory foam mattress and once it's stretched over the mattress there's no need to iron it because the creases get smoothed out in the process.

LilyoftheValley, maybe your fitted sheet is too big, because if it fits correctly it's quite tight, and isn't going anywhere! On the other hand, if it's too small and the corners don't tuck under the mattress enough, it will ping off!!

Maybe sodapop has the right idea and flat sheets would be easier 🤷.

I dislike fitted sheets, much prefer flat sheets I can tuck in

I now buy SK for my king, king for my double, by the time they have been washed & dried a few times they fit perfectly. Also I buy deep fitting sides as I have a panda topper& deep mattress.

I have no idea what you mean Bluebelle 😂😂😂

Dunelm sells fitted sheets which are different in depth. Dorma are usually quite generous. However, our newish mattress is so heavy, it's not easy to tuck in the corners properly on the top ends.

I do, just top half 😂

TerriBull Fri 27-Mar-26 15:24:53

Heavens! I've never ironed a fitted sheet, that's one of the best things about them grin

I agree with other posters, Dunelm for deep fitted sheets, I think Marks do deeper depths too.

BlueBelle Fri 27-Mar-26 15:30:04

Ironing sheets !!!!
I don’t think I iron anything 🤣

Elless Fri 27-Mar-26 15:33:37

Asda do fitted sheets (limited colours) that have thick elastic all the way around the edge but I am yet to see a king size one (bout some double ones for the caravan). If you've access to Costco they also do really good ones that are fully elasticated which I have used for the last few years and have been great.

LilyoftheValley Fri 27-Mar-26 18:16:57

Bluebelle. If only! I sleep alone. I think I prefer that way...... Thank you for the giggle¬

I bought some quite recently from Dunelm, the elastic is really thick arounbd the edge so it doesn't ping off when you move about.Mind you, ironing them is a bit of a challenge !

I may iron a few items a year, not sheets.

I dislike ironing, waste of my time.
