The Met never cease to amaze

Just when we are all disturbed by groups of kids running amok in Clapham, Met officees leave a bag of weapons including a sub machine gun and ammo on the pavement outside Sir Sadiq's house.
How lucky a group of youngsters didnt find it first before a memeer of the public who called the police. Talk about leaving a suspicious parcel unattended which we are reminded about constantly on the train!

The latter is very weird, I agree.

But we are wrong to assume all the guns were to protect Khan "at the same time", just because an officer had left them there - they may represent what the officers have in their vans.

However, I think Galaxy deserves the prize so far on this thread!
😂

You’re not wrong.
Applause 👏👏👏 to Galaxy I’m reminded of the scene in The good Life where Margo cried because she didn’t have a SOH 😂

Black Humour and sarcasm has always been my default position in dark times.

How could any member of the police force ‘forget’ weapons? Surely they check them in and out at the station as would be normal practice here ? I don’t get it at all. Was it deliberate or what ?

You'd think so!
Especially as they don't routinely carry them here in the UK, unlike Australia

I just wonder what tragedy could have happened if the guns had been found by people who would be happy to use them
If they have just left the guns by accident I would say irresponsible isn't a strong enough word. Dereliction of duty?

The guy who dragged the bag back to his bedroom? How lucky was he that on ge didnt go off. And kill himself or his partner or a passerby. It could have been anything in the bag. A bomb, a body. Whst a weird thing to do. A bag full of coins he thought. Even more weird.

He obviously hasnt heard the "See it. Say it. Sort it" rail travel mantra. Nowhere does advice say drag it back to your bedroom

It was an odd think to do.

Unattended bag? Surely most people would keep a safe distance and ring the police.

It's actually, "See it. Say it. Sorted". The last thing you do is to "sort it"!

MartavTaurus. You are right. It must be sorted...and I have heard it so many times!

Oh come on we have all done it. I left my guns in Tesco the other day. I had such a giggle with the security when I went back to retrieve them.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

God it's embarrassing for the Met. No wonder they've been suspended. Thank God they were found by a responsible citizen with no interest in selling weapons to the black market at a rewarding price.

An unfortunate incident.
I do not think we should pour down blanket blame on the Met though - they do a very difficult job.
The person involved will no doubt be dealt with.
