Good morning from a calm, mild Cornwall on this my favourite day of the year. My only regret is that I can't be in Jerusalem with my son to celebrate the Resurrection. We had planned to go but for obvious reasons have stayed away. I can't foresee our ever getting back there which is a shame. Anyway, he's collecting me at 6.15 and we're going to my church's sunrise service on a nearby beach, where two young people are being baptised in the sea, which will be a joyous event.

Later in the day I'm going with both sons and their families to an indoor games venue in the west of the county for bowling and eating. I'm useless at bowling but will play a mean game of air hockey with my grandchildren. I suppose chocolate eggs may feature at some point too. 😁 Pask Lowen to you all.

He is risen, hallelujah!✝️
Hood morning and happy Easter everyone.
Yesterday was curate’s eggish. I went for my paper at the local Imi Tesco when the manager, with whom I chat, called out asking if I’d like some flowers. Yes please! She gave me two bunches. I didn’t quite understand the origin, but thanked her.
When I went back that way to lean the church,I had a tin of cookies, so I stopped and offered her and her staff some. The lads were very pleased.
I did my cleaning, but noticed that by 10,15 no one had come to get the coffee ready. So I dropped everything and started to set up. One of the scheduled ladies sauntered in after 10 minutes. I explained what had happened, so without thanking me, told m3 she’d take over!
The other person never showed up, so I volunteered to stay on. She hardly did anything.leaving me to do it all. I was rather annoyed, and left at about midday, as I was tired and fed up. (I’ve never liked this lady)
Once home, I spent a quiet afternoon, enjoying the boat race, which the Cambridge chaps won. Yay!
I was too tired to go to the early evening service at DD’s church in town. I also didn’t want her to feel an obligation to take me home, rather than take the bus.
Rubbish night, full of peculiar dreams.
Today, I going to DD’s other church, for the Easter service, then on to lunch with the family.
Have a joyful day everyone. Carpe diem ☀️🦩❤️🦩🦩 ✝️

Good morning and Happy Easter from Malta where we expect a fine day with a high of 22°C 😎

A quiet day yesterday but had a good walk with Milo. He does love to be out but stops to sniff at every post along the way. My DD1 says he’s sending ‘pee-mails’.😂

Surprised at around 8 pm when DD3 and DGS2 arrived to collect said dog. I was so happy to see them and hear what a great time they’d had.

DGS2 asked for Weetabix with applesauce so he had that before they left with Milo. I’ve still got the canary as there was too much to carry and I was already in my pjs.

I’ll go to Mass this morning and am invited to join DD3 and family for lunch out. It will only be the four of them as the in-laws are on holiday in Japan.

Wishing a good day to you all.🐣🐣

Good morning and Happy Easter from my hillside in south Glos. I don’t know what the weather’s doing but it was certainly very blustery last evening.
A lovely day yesterday with DS and his family. They went on a park run first thing then cooked eggs and bacon on their return 😋
Lots more chatting and laughter, it’s so nice having them here.
They return home later but not until we’ve had roast lamb with all the trimmings. DGS1 wants rhubarb crumble for pudding so I will be making that this morning, quick and easy and delicious with ice cream.
Wishing you all a peaceful day xx

Happy Easter!

Thankyou WhiteSwan63 for mentioning the orchard festival at Burton Angus
We changed our plans and spent a lovely few hours there.
The orchids were unbelievable. There were so many all over the house and all in perfect full flower.

Not sure what we will do today, maybe a walk.
Near here there is an RAF base that was active during the war but has now been taken over by nature. You can still see where the runway was and a few outbuildings.
Now it is a very pretty woodland and nature reserve with wild horses roaming.

The local church is also very interesting. It was partly destroyed during the reformation and was rebuilt with local bricks. I will go and say a prayer there

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from lovely s somerset, sunny today and breezy

Happy Easter. I am just about to be hedonistic, enjoying cacao and hazelnut spread on a slice of my sourdough plus an enormous mug of tea in a china mug. Simple pleasures after a good sleep

My rebounder is coming into its own, I do health rebounding. Moving one tall item made all the difference to re-positioning the rebounder and now it is to the side of my spacious hall. its new forever home

So today, another calm and happy day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and dry. Happy Easter to you all. Lovely photos Melanie
Yesterday I did everything I wanted to. The house is sparkling and the table set for today. Unexpectedly dd and the boys appeared. It was lovely to see them. Dd and I sat and blethered while the boys drew in the kitchen and annoyed each other. Tesco delivered all the food for today. After that, I tidied up the pens and paper and watched tv. I have a housewife's soul as I'm always happy when my surroundings are clean and tidy. I didn't hear much of storm dave. I've checked the garden this morning and there doesn't appear to be any damage. No snow either- unlike Brook further north!
Today the family will arrive for lunch. I'm not a fan of lamb and with 1 vegetarian, 1 piscatarian and 2 small boys in the mix, we are having a buffet. The table will be groaning as I never knowingly underfeed. My aunt is bringing a nut roast, ds is bringing a side of macaroni cheese and dd has made mini lemon tarts and brownies. I also have a viennetta in the freezer- ds favourite. He's coming early because he's doing a mini egg hunt for the boys at my house. So I'm looking forward to having everyone here. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up in South Yorkshire and it is blissfully calm after yesterday’s horrendous wind which has blown the garden chairs all over the patio during the night. I must have a good look round this morning to see what else it has done. What a year it has been for gale force winds.

DD and her menfolk are coming over for a traditional Easter lunch of roast lamb today. Easter is about the only time we eat lamb these days. We will follow it with pineapple upside down cake - SiLs favourite. Hopefully if it stays dry we will get a walk in before they go home.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
My DS#1 and DGD have their birthdays today.
We're having a tea party this afternoon.

Quaker Meeting will be at my house this morning followed by soup for lunch.

I am glad the sun has come out. A big change after yesterday.

Sorry to hear your health isn't too good today Mick

Happy Easter however you celebrate or don't.

Happy Easter, good morning from South Lanarkshire.

About an hour ago we had a flash of lightning and an almighty thunderclap followed by fairly heavy snow which carpeted the ground very quickly. We now have drizzle which has turned the snow to slush. Odd weather.

Mass this morning then this afternoon we will go to DD’s bearing eggs for the children. I’m looking forward to my first taste of chocolate, and possibly cake, in over six weeks.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Walking the dog then visiting the first Gardeners Fair of the year.
Roast leg of lamb for dinner, of course!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 05-Apr-26 07:49:14

Morning all on this Easter Day from West Oxfordshire.

It is rather blustery and wet.

Leg of lamb and all the trimmings for lunch followed by Delia’s chocolate bread and butter pudding with lashings of cream. We’ve nearly finished the teeny tiny chocolate cake so will have Simnel cake for afternoon tea. Our daughter will take some back to London with her. OH likes fruit cake but isn’t fond of marzipan. I am!

Daughter is going back this afternoon so OH and I will visit our favourite NT place tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Sun 05-Apr-26 07:50:26

Good morning all from about 5 miles from Dragonfly - where it is also sunny.

Enjoy the Gardener's Fair, dragonfly.

We are doing very little today. DH has a cold - wish me luck.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Happy Easter to you all.
It’s a mild 8 degrees this morning, high cloud, but with some blue patches. The wind has dropped, although we didn’t have the gales here, just windy enough to blow some flower pots around!
My back was very achy yesterday so I didn’t do much. My neighbour borrowed my battery mower and cut the grass in both our front gardens, and the wide strip which goes right across both gardens next to the pavement. It takes one charge of the battery to do it all.
I’m going to DD1’s this afternoon for dinner, it will be a roast, but I doubt it will be lamb as none of us like it much! I have Easter chocolate bunnies for all the grandchildren no doubt adding to the mountains of chocolate they already have!

marzipan a sunrise service on the beach sounds very appropriate for Easter Day and atmospheric too.

Beautiful orchids melanie, thank you for the photos.

grammaretto Wishing your DS and DGD a Happy Birthday, enjoy the tea party.

baubles I hope the weather improves for you! Enjoy the chocolate!

Have the best day you can everyone.

Morning from a dry and cloudy S Hants, even we had wind last night.
We watched a very satisfactory result for my football team last night, a tense game.
Today we will be at my daughter’s for lunch, son will be there too.
Enjoy your meet ups, thoughts with those have a quieter day or struggling.

barry, I misread the contents of your freezer, which puzzled me hugely! “ A frozen vendetta”?

Good morning from a n almost sunny Torbay.

A joyful Eastertide to one and all on this chilly morning! I like this picture of the first Easter morning and it reminds me of the Easter hymn, “You're Alive” by Graham Kendrick, especially verse two:-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Tf_gYmJaig

An indoor day sounds like a good idea for you, Mick to enable your system to recover.

How lovely to have flowers, grandMattie! A well deserved reward for all your efforts for others.

It's lovely to read of all the happy family times being enjoyed by various contributors. Yesterday, my DS and DGS3 joined us for a leisurely. breakfast at our favourite pub/restaurant on the Downs where we sat for nearly two hours, enjoying the food then a game together. My DGS3, aged nearly 10, is very engaging and has inherited my love of performing on (and off!) stage.

Wishing you all a blessed Easter Sunday.

Gagagran Sun 05-Apr-26 08:01:14

Happy Easter everyone from the central south coast! The sun is shining and it's calm and dry with a gentle breeze. 12 degrees on the garden thermometer so it's warming up at last.

I was up betimes (as Samuel Peyps used to say in his diary. Not sure what it means but it sounds interesting) I got the slow cooker going with a gammon joint and various flavourings, organised DH's breakfast, found the Easter egg I had secreted for him and tended to my seedlings growing in an egg box. Then made my cup of tea and waited for him to get up! He has just decided to put a load of his cycling gear in the washer so the kitchen is fairly busy. My Mum used to say "the better the day, the better the deed" but she would never have done laundry on Easter Sunday!

We enjoyed a lovely visit from DGS yesterday and he told us all about the Biomedical Engineering course he is on at university. It does sound really interesting and he is enjoying it and doing well. He was a sweet baby and little boy and now at 6'4ins, still is. A real gentle giant!

Hope all the catering goes well and family get togethers are happy and enjoyable. May all our troubled or struggling Grans have an easier day. sunshine

Good morning from a bright sunny Durham. What a wild night!! Lovely day yesterday with DD2 and family. Between showers, DGS2 managed an Easter egg hunt in my garden. The bunny had been busy.
I’m going out for lunch with DD1 and family today. She’s asked me to stay over, but I’m not sure, as I’m still coughing and getting reflux at night.

Best wishes to all. X
