Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

Today we are going for a drive to Anglesey with DD1 and the children. My grandma had a cottage there which is where I spent the school holidays so a nostalgic day ahead.

It’s good your health has settled down Mick.

Thinking of our absent good morning friends and all struggling.Wishing everyone a good day 🦩🌻

Good morning from a dry Bristol. The yo-yo temperatures are here atm. I always feel flummoxed as to what to wear…
Yesterday was quiet, with my usual baking, and I made 3 patchwork blocks (they consist of 4x4 squares), a lot of time is spent pressing each of the seams…. My iron is always very busy.
Laundry done, dried on the line, folded/ironed and put away.
I had a quiet afternoon, only making a slow cooker chicken stew for the freezer, which is now full.
I watched the last episode of “Pilgrimage”. I find it very interesting to hear the celebs attitude to their faith or none. I was particularly taken by Hasan’s deep faith but also his attitude to everyone else’s. What a nice man.
FAB cafe this morning, book group this afternoon. I haven’t read the book (Gone with the Wind) as I had no desire to, despite much persuasion!
I hope that everyone has a good day - travellers, poorly and sad, the contented, everyone!
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a dark but dry Torbay.

A greeting that encompasses everyone, grandMattie, thank you!

Safe travels to Anglesey, Susan56, and I’m glad you’re feeling better, Mick. Take care.

DH is returning to France today so we shall be on the road to Newton Abbot by 7.00 am so he can catch the train to Paddington.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and I’ve been awake for about an hour. Had my first vat of coffee and two digestives (an early morning ritual). Today my energy company are changing both my meters to bring them into line with current broadband provision in the area (so they tell me). I am of the “if it ain’t broke, why fix it” school and imagine all sorts of difficulties. We’ll see.

GS came over very early yesterday and after breakfast we got stuck into gardening. He cut the grass, dug over the flower beds and moved plants around for me. Then we ripped sixteen feet of old broken bamboo screening off the back fence and went out to the garden centre to buy some more, having first had a disagreement about whether or not we could fit it into my Mini. His spatial awareness is not quite on a par with mine, and it went in, but only just! After clearing up the old stuff we ran out of time to fix it to the fence so that is now a job for another day. When he’d gone home I was so exhausted I made do with a sandwich and a handful of cherry tomatoes for tea and settled on the sofa for the rest of the evening.

Today will be a rest day. If the meter man cometh early I’ll go to writers group this afternoon.

Have the best day you can, folks

Good morning from the east coast and a lovely warm day is forecast.
I have DGS this morning so I’ll wait for DSs partner to message to say he’s up and dressed and I’ll pick him up. When he goes I have alot of pottering about including packing for our trip to London tomorrow.

Yesterday visiting my uncle the first thing he said to me was that the cook’s assistant had sworn at him and he has witnesses. I was in the office yet again for a chat. Of course one of the witnesses was his girlfriend and she is very mouthy. Oh my the politics in that place. 🤦

Grandmattie when you mentioned Gone with the wind, i thought that would be a great one to listen to on audible. I’ve bought it and only £3.00 for 18hours listening. I’ve always loved the film but never read the book.

Wishing a lovely day to all with many moments of joy🌼

Sar53 Wed 08-Apr-26 06:03:38

Good, very early, morning from the Essex coast.
Last night we went to a quiz at our local. Very enjoyable although we didn't do very well. There were only two of us whereas some teams had seven or eight players.
DH has an early appointment at the eye clinic after his Cornea transplant last week. He still cannot see out of his eye so we are hoping everything is OK.
I worry more than him.
We have no plans for the rest of the day so will go with the flow.
Have the best day you can everyone xx

RosesandLilac Wed 08-Apr-26 06:17:14

Good morning from south Glos, another sunny day today.
I sat outside enjoying the sunshine, there was a stiff breeze but it wasn’t too bad, hoping to do the same today.
I went down to my Shed after lunch and fell asleep, unheard of for me. I seem to be somewhat weary at the moment, no word from the hospital about the scans and biopsies, it could be another two months before I even see an oncologist and the waiting is getting agonising when I know it’s already stage 4…..
Anyway, I’m starting a new embroidery today, I’ve decided to crack on with the ones I like best! That’ll keep me happily occupied while I listen to a podcast or audiobook.
My garden is looking lovely, lots of primroses and dog violets and the bees are busy.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

GrandmaC47 Wed 08-Apr-26 06:28:04

Roses 💐 Good morning all. Another day with no plans apart from a Sainsbury’s delivery at 9.
Hope everyone has a good day.

grandMattie Wed 08-Apr-26 06:40:54

Oh, my poor dear Roses. How very difficult for you. Much liv3 and prayers. ❤️

karmalady Wed 08-Apr-26 06:44:51

Good morning from s somerset, another beautiful sunny day today

I was weary last night and went to bed early, I love the time lying in bed before sleep, listening to the radio set on a timer, no effort, just lying there

I painted the shed yesterday, a perfect window of opportunity for that, I was quite tired when I cycled home. Made a quick lunch and got some energy back. It would be so nice to have someone at home ready with lunch and a mug of tea but c`est la vie

I threw my last non-stick pan out and ordered a cast iron skillet, uk made and smoother surface than Lodge. I intend to use it for all sorts of cooking and baking, quiche and so on. Every time I use it, it will get a better and better natural non stick surface

I have to get package up from parcelshop today, just a 10 minute walk to the shops in town for that. Evri has become so unreliable lately, parcelshop is safer. Soup making too and not much else, apart from my hobbies today. RnR after yesterday

baubles Wed 08-Apr-26 06:47:11

Good morning from dry South Lanarkshire.

I missed much of yesterday’s lovely weather as I was working in the shop so I’m hoping for more of the same today.

It’s many years since I read Gone With the Wind, I may get the audible version too WhiteSwan.

I hope your DH’s appointment goes well Sar.

Some flowers for you Roses.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning from a still, bright Cornwall where I can see my giant Echium from my bed, looming in the burgeoning light. Another day of good weather ahead means I can do more clearing in the wild garden above my patio. Received my frost free freezer yesterday. What stars the Argos delivery men always are. They've brought many large, awkward-shaped parcels up to my first floor flat. They have to navigate a very narrow passageway past large black bins and are always smiley and helpful. So today I must go shopping for frozen goods before I become a gardener.

My granddaughter and her mum have gone to Cheshire for a full day of horsey events. A long drive from here. She will be beyond excited and I'll hear all about it on Friday when she's coming to me for the day.

Yesterday I met my newest friend for coffee. We met when she was newly widowed and clicked immediately. I have many friends and wasn't expecting to find another one at this stage in my life so I really value her company.

A parcel appeared inside our padlocked gate yesterday. It's for the café next door. I'm intrigued how it found its way inside our formidable metal structure, but will pop it round to the café in a few minutes as they'll already be starting to open up and putting their chairs and tables out on the pavement.

Good morning from Sheffield

Rosesflowers Waiting is agonising.

I planted beans and peas into my raised beds yesterday, fingers crossed for no hard frosts.
I shall go in the garden again today , there are always jobs to do. Everything is growing like mad

We are off into town this evening to see the stage show Fawlty Towers. It has good reviews .
We are going to Turtle Bay again for tea. We had such a bad meal there last time but they have offered us £30 off if we go back. We will try again and see if it’s any better this time

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from Malta where it’s to be a sunny day with a high of 25°C.

Yesterday the two chaps arrived right on time to clean my sofa bed. They did a wonderful job and I was most impressed. The chap who was the boss told me he had worked in the UK for many years and had cleaned furnishings at Buckingham Palace and showed me the Royal Warrant on the cleaning fluid he imports from UK, whatever it is, it smells lovely!

I watched tennis for a couple of hours, all finished by the time my treasures arrived looking sunburned as they had been to the beach. I’m afraid I told DD3 I was surprised at her for not putting sunscreen on them, she’s usually so particular.

DGS2 was fast asleep so I had the pleasure of DGS1’s company for an hour or so before his brother woke up. They really are the light of my life, such loving little boys.

I woke at 4.30 this morning and have only just woken feeling like someone has hit me over the head! I seem to wake because I have dry eyes which is painful and I have to put drops in.

Gone with the Wind is one of my favourite books. My late sister gave me her very old hard-backed copy (with tiny print!) when we were going on holiday to Atlanta and Savannah where the book is set. I enjoyed it much more than the movie.

Oh Roses that is too long to wait. You must be in turmoil even though you are being so stoic about it. Have you told your family your diagnosis yet or are you still keeping it to yourself?
It’s no wonder you are feeling fatigued. 😞💐💐

I’m somewhat irritated to be having Milo dog again today. My house is clean but he will come and make paw marks again not to mention jumping all over my clean throws. I told DD3 I wasn’t thrilled about it but she will still bring him so her cleaner can do her thing,

She’s bringing the boys over to see me before they go off strawberry picking. I suspect DGS2 will eat more than he picks. He loves strawberries!

Enough of my waffling, I haven’t had my tea yet so will go and get it although there’s an excavator hammering away nearby so it’s not peaceful at all. They have been digging the roads for weeks to replace old pipes so I expect we have a long way to go before they finish.😫

Safe travels to the travellers, prayers for the sufferers and a good day to you all.🤗

madeleine45 Wed 08-Apr-26 06:56:11

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a still grey morning but with promises of a warm day from the forecast. I am creaking around and somewhat impatient as I have things to do up the town and need to get going as early as possible but the body is not moving at the rate that the mind wants to so far!

The market will be on, I need to get to the bank, and the car is showing it needs a fuel change and so need to get onto the garage and see when I can organise that , and also get them to check the front tyre and make sure it is still legal and put the little cense thing on which is missing and annoying me you constantly saying the tyre needs changing etc. Then there is a lot I would like to get done in the garden., as of course , the weeds getting no support still manage to grow very well and fast. So a busy day is planned.

Yesterday was beautiful and I had a lovely day out in the car, going down quiet little roads, enjoying the wonderful blossom and the sunshine. In the early stage it was still very cold if you got lured out by the view and was quick to get back in, and use my binoculars instead. The day warmed up and it was just lovely to enjoy the views and seeing families out enjoying it too. I have had to have this vitamin D and so have the excuse that I need to get what sunshine I can. Anyway it was all very lovely and I stayed out for a long time and didnt get back home in time to go to the games group. I was rather tired anyway and dont think my brain would have been up to doing much. Such a joy to enjoy the countryside and deliberately ignore all news and remain calm. I am sure it was very calming and good for me physically as well as for the soul. Hopefully it is going to be another good day but must get down to jobs today.

Glad you are feeling better Mick, and hope you get your trip into Bicester ok. Susan56 hope you enjoy your trip to Anglesey. We had relatives who lived in Llangefni and used to visit there regularly but not been there for years now. GrandMattie hope your day goes well and the bookclub will have a more interesting book for you next time. I am an avid reader but have never joined a book club as am not at all interested in science fiction or thrillers so thought I would probably not like quite a lot of their choices and would rather spend the time reading books that I chose. Greyduster you will be ready for a rest by the sound of it today.

Hope the weather is kind for everyone today and we can all enjoy some sunshine, commiserations with anyone who has hayfever as it was a high pollen count yesterday and no doubt will be the same today. Success to your plans and a positive day to you all

Georgesgran Wed 08-Apr-26 07:00:35

Good Morning from Durham. A potentially spectacular sunrise has turned into just ordinary. It’s forecast up to 17 today, but again feeling cooler.
I’ve cancelled meeting my poorly friend this week. She’s immunocompromised and I don’t want her to catch this cold. I’m into week 3 now! Unfortunately, I’ve no energy to do the jobs that are piling up.

💐Roses - have you confided in anyone about your illness yet? I hope you get an appointment soon.

Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 08-Apr-26 07:07:30

Morning all from a mild West Oxfordshire. I think it’s going to be warm.

Roses🌹

A busy day yesterday. I took Milo the cat to the Vet at 8 am for his dental surgery. I had a call at lunchtime to say they weren’t extracting several teeth after all but cleaning and polishing them. That was a relief, especially as the final bill was halved! I collected Milo at 3 pm and he was very subdued. It sounds like he was a difficult patient until he was anaesthetised.

In the meantime the cleaner came and was slightly overlapped by the gardener. OH was out all day with his Shooting Club.

We are off to our nearby NT place today. It will be interesting to see how much their cream teas have gone up by. Anyway, it is a beautiful garden and OH loves looking at his favourite Burne Jones mural in the house.

Have a good day.

kittylester Wed 08-Apr-26 07:10:50

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

I have to get going early this morning as I am having a 'one to one' with my 'line manager' at 10.00. It will involve teaching and cake. DH is going to the gym.

A quiet afternoon, hopefully, as I am helping to deliver an online Carer Course this evening.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Wed 08-Apr-26 07:22:35

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. I usually see a DF but her eldest DD is still in hospital and she will be visiting her. We are hoping to visit our favourite garden and see how everything is coming on. A chat to DD1 later
Roses flowers
Safe journeys and appointments

ginny Wed 08-Apr-26 07:23:20

Good morning. Another sunny day forecast here but cooling later.
Roses I hope you hear something soon.
After six weeks I still don’t have the results of my eye problem and have had to find alternative travel insurance for our cruise. The original was bought as inclusive with the holiday and as I don’t know the outcome of the tests they won’t cover me at all.
DH is off to golf and I have a hair appointment. Afterwards I am meeting a friend for lunch , so that will be the afternoon gone.
This evening we are popping in to see DD2 and DD1 who is staying with her overnight.

ginny Wed 08-Apr-26 07:23:52

Oops, finger fumble.
Wishing all a good day.

cornergran Wed 08-Apr-26 07:24:26

Morning Mick, morning All. A sunny day forecast for our corner of Somerset.

Having survived physio yesterday we’re having a day out today. A not too far away NT property with interesting grounds.

roses that’s a long while to wait, it feels as if you’re being let down. 🌷.

Best wishes to everyone. Have the best day you can.

Grandmabatty Wed 08-Apr-26 07:26:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and dry. Quite cloudy though. Roses that seems too long to wait. 💐 Ashcombe safe journey back to France for your dh.
Yesterday was very productive, cleaning, washing, ironing and gardening. Everything has been put away properly. The garden is a work in progress but at least I've started it.
Today I will have a quiet morning then I'm heading to a friend for lunch before 3 of us visit our friend who recently lost her son. She has asked to see us for a little while. We will do what we can to support her.
I hope you all have a good day.

Gagagran Wed 08-Apr-26 07:26:48

Good Morning all from a sunny central south coast. How lovely to waken to such glorious weather. It gladdens the heart.

Just had a message from DPD to say they are delivering my new height-adjustable dining chair this afternoon. Very impressed with the speedy service from the supplier. I only ordered it on Monday!

DH is out for the day with his cycling friends so I have a quiet one planned with probably a nap in the mix as I had a disjointed night. No idea why but they do crop up now and then.

Roses I was sorry to read of the delay in your treatment. It must be a big worry for you and hard to keep the concerns under control. Virtual hugs on the way along with flowers

Kind thoughts of all our GNs and especially those with struggles, sadness or pain . May the day bring some comfort and ease for all. sunshine
