This evening it’s chicken risotto as I needed to use up some leeks and yesterday’s roast chicken.

It’s happily cooking in the Thermomix whilst I waste time on SM!

Risotto is my go to comfort food, I just love it and I always have ingredients to cobble one together.

Today

Wheatabix Bran
Left over lentil stew - which although doesn’t sound very inspiring is very tasty.
Lamb Tagine with probably rice or maybe couscous

A chicken curry, since I’ve just stripped the roast chicken we had on Sunday - carcass is simmering away for stock. It was a fair sized one, so I’ll be getting at least another 3 meals out of it - smaller bits for a chicken stew, stir fry or egg fried rice. Was free range and not cheap, so I do use every scrap.

Fish cakes tonight with broccoli and beans, and perhaps one or two baby potatoes.

Norah Wed 13-May-26 14:36:28

Pasta, cream sauce (cannellini, mustard, nooch), salad, bread, fruit.

Pasta à la Nonna (aubergine baked in the airfryer and flesh scraped out, mashed and mixed into a tomato and basil sauce) on spaghetti. Fresh fruit for afters. Yum.

‘Cottage pie’ chicken mince, broccoli and carrots.

Chipotle chicken - fairly sure it has a proper name but not sure what it is.

Well, we had the Lamb Tagine that was planned for yesterday, as the left over lentil stew turned out to be quite sufficient for a main meal.

Tomorrow
Poached egg
Kiwi fruit
CB Cottage Pie with carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. (Out all afternoon)

Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts, quinoa, salad, green goddess, bread.

And berries.

Allira Thu 14-May-26 22:05:10

green goddess

What is that?
I thought it was the name of a fire engine

Aldom Thu 14-May-26 22:32:41

Green Goddess is an interesting salad dressing.

Allira Thu 14-May-26 22:34:56

Oh! I'd never heard of it.
🙂

Green Goddess is an interesting salad dressing.

I'd not heard of it 'til recently so I bought a bottle to try.
'Interesting' isn't how I'd describe it; I thought it was revolting. But each to his own as they say!

It's linguini with spinach, cheese and mushrooms tonight.

We are having my sister and her DH for the weekend and I’m cooking. My DH is the good cook in our house but I can have my moments so my menu for this evening is.
Paul Hollywood’s smoked salmon and spinach roulade.
Venison casserole with asparagus, and mashed potatoes
Nigella’s Calvados Syllabub to finish.
All washed down with a glass or two of nice wine.
How’s that for one upmanship? 🤣🤣

JamesandJon33 Fri 15-May-26 12:50:11

We are having the quiche we were going to have last night.
We had unexpected visitors for lunch yesterday.Wagu burgers, salad etc., so didn’t want a large supper. I just had a slice of cheese on toast.

It depends on the recipe one uses. And the fresh herbs.

Norah Fri 15-May-26 13:00:45

Noodles, crispy tofu, spinach, peanut butter sauce. Salad, berries.

Jaxjacky Fri 15-May-26 13:53:29

Broccoli and cheese quiche, baby potatoes and peas. Friday’s tend to be easy as we go to our local at tea time.

Allira Fri 15-May-26 15:26:01

Pan fried 😀 sea bass with Jersey Royal potatoes, asparagus and broccoli spears.

Sago Fri 15-May-26 15:29:51

Roast chicken with Jersey potatoes, salads and slaw.
I will make bread rolls in the morning then we will have chicken sandwiches for lunch.

Greyduster Fri 15-May-26 16:26:47

Spaghetti Bolognese with a large(ish) glass of Chilean Malbec.

Allira Fri 15-May-26 16:28:16

Oh, and a chilled NZ Sav Blanc too. 😀

Witzend Fri 15-May-26 19:24:26

A substantial veg/chicken soup, with some of the last bits of the chicken plus the stock, and parsley dumplings (veg suet) - simmering away for another 10 minutes.

One of our favourites tonight. Asian parcels. Sugar snap peas, broccoli spears and peppers with a piece of salmon on top. Sauce made from ginger and dark soy poured over. All encased in a grease proof paper parcel. Usually eat with wholemeal rice.
