How do you hang your washing out?

I hang tops with the pegs under the armpits so they don’t stretch and the peg marks are not visible. Does that make me a washing line freak?

It was just an observation! I wondered if I was just being too particular about my laundry habits

Agree with this arrangement OP and it means that the creases from the pegging on the line are less obvious because they are either just below the waistline or, in the case of trousers, probably hidden by the bottom of the top. This reduces the need to iron - always a good idea!

I hang bottoms from the waist tops some from under the arms and woolies are hung over 3/4 lines of my rotary drying line, underwear goes on a multi peg hanger.

I always hang/ peg trousers at waistband but tops it all depends on the fabric, jumpers and cotton t-shirts under the armpit in case they stretch but other things from the hem.

Woven fabric blouses and shirts are pegged by the bottom of the side seams, sweaters and jersey tops folded over the line and pegged at the under arm/side seam junction, jeans and trousers upside down and pegged at the seams………minimal peg marks and maximum drying potential 💪

My daughter and I always claim not to be neurodivergent in spite of if affecting most of the family, but when she showed me a photo of the school football strip hanging up to dry, she was worrying because she'd got the numbers in the wrong order and I was worrying because she'd hung them upside down!

The same as most others, jeans and trousers from waistband, shirts and blouses upside down from bottom side seams, jumpers in half, pegged under the arms, t-shirts upside down and pegged at side seams with enough folded over the line so as not to sag. I peg knickers and pants up by the waistband, and socks by the toes. I don't hang things randomly, it's all in groups, ie. knickers together, pants together, socks together, trousers/jeans and tops. The pegs have to be matching.

Now if this isn't mundane, I don't know what is! But it's conversation, so I'm happy to share 😂.

I do as others above for trousers, shirts and jumpers.
Smalls go on a little peg hanger all of their own.

Grannybags and thesunrisesintheeast made me smile because I too hang clothes in batches - though I hang all my things together and OH’s on the opposite side. Household laundry goes on the other two opposing sides. No idea why!

I have a rotary drier and try to hang light things on the inner lines, heavier on the outside.

Trousers upside down with two pegs on each of the hem on the bottom..

As my mother taught me. I hang trousers from the bottom of the legs and that way the waist gets more air. Everything else from the bottom but a dressing gown is neatly folded from the bottom. Everything is inside out so that the sun doesn't lighten the clothes.

When it's blowing in the sunshine, yes. When it's just hanging in an onset of drizzle, not so much joy!
