Good Morning Everyone,
Its just starting to become daylight here in Brackley this morning.
Usually at around 0530 the local Morris men perform on the piazza outside the town Hall , but this the pub which normally opened early for the proceedings as closed .
I will do my usual routine after breakfast with a bus trip to Bicester and chat to those i know .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning, Mick, I wouldn't normally be awake this early but I've had a restless night, came on here, and now I can hear all the wildlife waking up and I'm ready to go back to sleep! 😴

Have a nice time chatting with your friends in Bicester today. Glad to hear you're feeling well. The nice weather helps to put a spring in your step 😀. Take care.

Good morning from Malta where it’s cloudy and the high will be 21°C.

It’s a Public Holiday today (St Joseph the Worker), a fact which I had completely forgotten so went off to do my shopping and a few errands yesterday feeling quite pleased with myself for having made the effort to get out of the house.

On returning to the car I checked my phone only to have my happy bubble burst - I had missed my hair appointment at 11.30 Yet another ‘senior moment’ or what a friend calls a CRAFT moment ( Can’t Remember A F***ing Thing. 😩

Watched tennis, cleaned the front steps, steam mopped the floors and was disappointed not to see the boys as they had a party to attend.

A lovely surprise, then, when I heard little voices outside the door just after 7pm and there were my two Treasures and their mum. They had their dinner here before leaving at 9pm so it was a lovely end to my day,

I’ll have to wash my own hair today, a task I loathe but it serves me right.

Shame about the Morris dancers, Mick, I love them and was in my element visiting my sister in Broadstairs during Folk Week where there were different groups dancing everywhere we went. Happy days.

Thoughts always with our troubled friends and also greetings to all who read but don’t post, I hope you all have the best day possible.☀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and dry. There's a lovely clear sky which sadly has not to last.
Yesterday was a repeat of the day before. I did the ironing and put the clothes away. Then more clearing out the boys room and more weeding of the front garden. I had a lazy afternoon watching tv.
Today I have no plans. There's an in service day so I won't be going to the school. If it stays dry, I'll do more weeding. It's endless! I will probably change the sheets etc and wash them. Have a good day all.

White rabbits 🐇 🐇🐇 from an overcast Bristol.
It’s not as chilly as in the last few days. Yesterday’s diurnal variation was 13 degrees - too much!
May Day - is anyone going to hear choirs singing in the day, or seeing Morris dancing at dawn as the family is doing?
Thursday was quiet, I went into town and had a generally successful shop. After lunch I did my Spanish homework, I didn’t finish it as I found some bits too hard.
Today, after my class, I’m going over to the church hall to replace the covering of the remaining sound boards. Then, while I’m there, I’ll do my cleaning stint in the church.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Bellasnana how annoying for you! I have everything in three places, a paper calendar, on the fridge door and in my phone. That way, I rarely forget

Bellasnana Fri 01-May-26 05:54:33

grandMattie I write everything in my diary. Trouble is I forget to look at it and, as I usually have my appointment on a Friday, I get thrown by all these wretched public holidays. I think Malta and Ireland have 14 of them!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. The sun is getting its act together again, but there’s a light frost on the conservatory roof at the moment.

Yesterday’s woodland walk was lovely; swathes of bluebells still and the leaf canopy is filling out. I had lunch with DD and then came home and set to work on my knees weeding the edges of my front rockery where it borders the pavement. My neighbour brought her new cordless lawnmower over to show me as she knows I’m thinking of getting one. She set out to demonstrate what it could do - and the battery ran out! Ah well! I was still impressed.

Early this morning I have someone coming to give me a quote for cleaning all my guttering. There’s a lot of it so I expect to need smelling salts. After that I will walk down to the pharmacy to get my covid jab. A short session at school this afternoon, and that will be my day.

Hope you all have a good one folks.

Good morning, I have just been woken up by the 11yr old. He thought it was 7am not 6am 😡

Will be cooking his breakfast shortly.

My hay fever is rather bad this morning (itchy ears, sore throat etc, and feeling rather blurgh ) or I have caught something

Will see how I feel after a few cups of tea as to whether I go to the gym or not.

DH and I are going to the local Malaysian restaurant for dinner, they are all from just outside Kuala Lumpur, really nice people.

Good morning from Lancashire.
Thankyou for the good wishes and welcome back posted yesterday.

I've been awake since 5am, not because of the little chap, but because of the Jackdaw family nesting in the soffit and fascia above our bedroom window.
The eggs have hatched and I can hear lots of cheeping!
The parents come back every year and are particularly attached to DH's voice. They ignore me, but get very animated if he speaks. 😁

Yesterday was spent at home playing out in the garden. Today I'm going to take him to a storytime session at the library that I've heard good things about.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌻

Good morning, a bit of me is hoping it’s going to rain today. I sorted out my pots on the patio yesterday, the soil was bone dry, I have definitely been neglecting them 😢
DH helped me with emptying and refilling some of them - I discovered a very healthy dahlia tuber in one that I’d forgotten about 👏 They were all given a very good watering and I will feed them today.
I have various plants I have bought over the past few weeks online that need transferring into the garden, that’s the plan for today. I’ll probably have to get DH to do most of it.
Usual housework first then out into the garden.
Happy May Day x
🌹

Ooh, itchy ears is the thing that drives me mad with hayfever, GrannyGravy13!

Good morning from a bright sunny one in London where we’re staying in a Premier Inn near St. Pancras. It struck me last night how young everyone looks - so many old folk around my home area of Torbay!

We’re booked on the 9.01 Eurostar so an early start. Thank you for the good wishes yesterday. By this evening we should be on board our home for the next seven nights: the Oscar Wilde, sailing The River Rhine.

Wishing you all a happy May Day! 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 01-May-26 06:31:11

Morning all on this May Morning from West Oxfordshire.🐰

Book group was fun yesterday. We looked at various diaries. I spoke about Chips Channon’s three enormous volumes.

OH visited his bees yesterday. They seem to have calmed down. He reckons there will be a lot of honey to take off at the end of this month. It seems to happen earlier each year.

We are out for lunch today to one of our favourite places. Yesterday I made our annual feast with the new season’s asparagus. I always make Hollandaise sauce which we love. It contains three egg yolks and six ounces of butter so it’s a once a year treat.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a bright Black Country, where it is forecast as sunny until the afternoon which may bring thundery showers.

Visiting Mum yesterday is such a sad experience now, her short term memory has completely gone. It makes it worse as she is aware and keeps saying 'I don't want to be like this'.

Yesterday was such a gloriously sunny day, we even ate our evening meal outside. Cheese Omelette and Salad.

May join an organised walk this morning, but would have to be out of the house by 9am, so see how I feel later.

Welcome latedecember

Wishing you the best day possible

Good morning from s somerset, not as windy today and some sun

Great news for the family yesterday, dsonil went for a career job interview and three hours later had a phone call to say he did a very strong interview. He starts training in four months, an emergency service. Meanwhile he works at a very big lovely leisure company, all outdoor work with people. The best thing he ever did was leave teaching, thanks to a bully male headmaster who could not take the imagined competition from an ex forces officer who was also a superb teacher

Very strong winds here yesterday, they always come here with rise in temperature but I had a good long time on my recliner, reading outdoors. I had to water all my baby plants again, they dry out so fast in the wind. I do think I will be able to get many in the ground in a couple of weeks

I did some plying yesterday and now have to make skeins from that, probably today as I want a cleared table for the weekend.

This and that today, no big plans but I am hoping to put my recliner outside again

cornergran Fri 01-May-26 06:48:56

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is forecast a showery morning. Hope so. It’s very dry out there.

Volunteering this morning, a bag to the tip and Waitrose this afternoon. There’s so much else I need to be doing but until some energy and a clearer head return it’s basics only. I get really irritable feeling like this.

Have the best day you can everyone.
