Good morning from overcast South Lanarkshire.

Happy birthday to you Mick and thank you for this daily thread. Hope you enjoy your day.

DH popped his head around the door of the room where I was ironing yesterday to say that his friend had called and he was going out to play. smile He came back with a couple of plants having visited a nursery.

This evening we are going to the wedding reception of young neighbours. The chap has been rather accident prone in the past and DH has driven him to A&E on more than one occasion after diy mishaps. The venue is a five minute walk away so we can go for a couple of hours and be back home at a reasonable time.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Happy birthday Mick!
Good morning everyone, it’s sunny here in south Glos at the moment but heavy rain is forecast later. The garden could certainly do with it.
I actually had a phone call from the lung cancer oncologist yesterday! As expected there’s small areas of cancer in both lungs but the recommended treatment is to monitor very closely with scans every 3 months for the first year and at any signs of growth then treatment will begin.
I also have an area of more concern in my bowel that strongly took up the radioactive tracer dye, it could be a polyp but may well be cancer 🤷🏼‍♀️ So, he’s put in a 2 week cancer pathway referral and here I go again! 😬🙄
I’m also being referred to a Respiratory Physio and will be carefully monitored for’a strange anomaly on your Pulmonary vein’.
Oh. What. Fun. Ahead.
Love to you all and a very big hug to Marydoll, my DH is being an @#£& too!

RosesandLilac Sat 02-May-26 07:54:00

If the bowel mass is cancer then the lung ones are secondaries…..

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny again, with a bit of high cloud, who knows what the weather will do today. Yesterday was a lovely warm sunny day, nice not to be muffled up in winter clothes, even if only for a day.

Happy Birthday mick I hope you enjoy your day.

ash I’m glad you are enjoying the sun on the Rhine after a tiring journey. Have a lovely holiday.

gingster I hope your visit to your seaside cottage is successful and you find the necessary paperwork. I hope you have an easy journey along the dreaded A12!

I need to tidy the many empty flower pots of varying sizes that are littering the garden behind the shed, to make room for a second compost bin. I’ll make a start on that today. Otherwise no plans for today.

Thank you for the photos bellasnana and gelisajams, I’ve really enjoyed looking at them.

Hoping those who are in pain or suffering in any way find some relief today.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is making a supreme effort but might struggle today..
A Very Happy Birthday to you Mick! Enjoy your day🎂🍺.

I had my covid jab yesterday and this morning my arm is very sore and I feel washed out. I can’t remember that happening before. Fortunately I don’t have a lot to do today except for a small shop at Aldi. I usually go early on a Saturday but I fancy it might not be quite so early this morning.

Enjoy your holiday, Ash😊!

Have the best day you can, folks.

My dear R&L what a bummer, but at least you are being looked at and not ignored. Hugs and prayers

RosesandLilac 🌹 I’ve been on the 2-week pathway a number of times. Twice all was okay, the other time Stage 1 breast cancer was diagnosed. Thinking of you.

Good morning from Shropshire.Bright sunshine at the moment but rain forecast later.

We had a nice time with the children after school. We had a few new things for them to do which they enjoyed. Both have requested an at home day today which suits. We have a toy box and some toys for my SIL’s niece which they are excited to take home later so we will get them ready.

Gelisajams we used to go to Grasmere every year with my parents. When dad died we wanted to get a memorial stone in the footpath at the church but there were no spaces left.Instead we had daffodils planted in the church grounds. We continued to go to the Lakes with the children.Haven’t booked this year yet but thinking it will be back to Grasmere for us.Thank you for the pictures.

FGT💐it will be nice having your daughter and son in law staying tonight after what will be I’m sure a day of mixed emotions for you.x

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷

Good morning from a sunny and already warm Suffolk. Happy birthday Mick.

I am on nurturing DGD3 duty today as she revises for her GCSEs which start on the 6th. She is very undemanding,a’perfect house guest’as our neighbour describes our little dog when they look after her occasionally.

All she’ll need is a quiet space and regular top ups with drinks and food. She told me last night that it takes her,not counting in the time for a shower at least 35 mins to get ready in the morning! That’s because of her skin care and make up( which is so subtle I hadn’t noticed it). Welcome to this new teenage world granny.

I hope those with worries or who are unwell have a peaceful day and a good one for all.

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

Happy 78th birthday, Michael!

The pain in my side and back, where I tripped on the sticky-up pavement, is still there but beginning to ease, so it isn't as bad as it was, thankfully!

After crashing back to bed just after 10 am yesterday, I managed to have a reasonably decent kip, flat on my back, hugging another hot water bottle, completely flattened and stuffed with paracetamol and Moo Milk!

I got up once for the loo and once for some orange juice, but that's it, I was well conked out and didn't get up until just before 3 pm! It was well needed!

As I have Melani Sanders We Do Not Care Club Handbook, £13.93 from Amazon, hardback, she's now written We Do Not Care Club Colouring Book, paperback, £10.99 through Amazon, so I've ordered that one too, it should be with me in a few days!

Have a good one, all of you!

Gelisajams Sat 02-May-26 08:16:23

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Sunshine here.

Happy birthday Mick with a big thankyou for this thread.
Enjoy your beer later.

My little Friday dinner party for 3 was a good end to the week though my backache was bad. Probably a mix of tension about the imminent house selling and from carting books around that nobody wants.

We watched deer cavorting around the bluebells in my garden. At this time of year it's a lot to give up.

Oh dear Rosesandlilac I am sorry to hear that you are on this particular journey. Sending hugs.

Gingster I love the sound of your celebration.

Glad Ash that you are enjoying the cruise.

Today more of the moving stuff around.
Encyclopedia anyone?

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where all is very peaceful except for bird song. Yesterday the weather was glorious sunshine all day and for the first time my 12 year old DGD wanted to tan her legs in the garden after school. Also she had rolled her skirt up so very short. Signs she is growing up I suppose 😂 DGS2 was happy playing chess indoors with his grandad. They do squabble at mo though and his first greeting to his sister after school was to shout “skirt” at the top of his voice as she got into the car which irritated her! He then persisted to pull her hair and kick her seat to get a reaction 😳Peace did resume fairly quickly thankfully. They do however bring so much laughter enjoyment into my life.

Today I will go to the Farm shop for BBQ meat and I fancy steak, salad and chips tonight. Will need to be on hand to help with dance class runs which clash with an away football match but otherwise will enjoy a quiet day at home.

Hope your dil is getting on ok MD and has a good birthday and your DH will soon get his BP under good control and your own health will be a little easier.
FGT hope today goes well.
Happy Birthday Mick 🍺🎂 enjoy your special day.

Lovely to see all the photos posted today. Hope the day will be kind to all 🌷
