Good Morning Saturday 2nd May 2026

Good morning everyone, especially Mick on his.birthday, from a cloudy Northampton, with rain forecast later. Yesterday was so warm; we had all the outside doors open at the hall where we do our dance classes; neither.did I need a cardigan.

After dance I decided to go straight to the shops; had a welcome coffee in Costa before getting what I needed from M&S Food, (mainly a nice steak for dinner tonight!)

No plans to go out today, needing to stay around home, as Evri will be picking up a returns parcel to go back to John Lewis (the suitcase I wasn't happy with). I need to go to a JL store to look at other brands, and must inspect the insides this time! Evri should send me an email with expected pick-up time.

May get out in the garden at some time today to carry on with the weeding; I must also stake my peonies as they are getting top heavy.

Happy birthday Mick and those who celebrate today. Lovely morning so will be able to dry the washing outside, always a bonus. Need to collect pills from surgery and await Tesco delivery, so a fairly dull day in prospect but sadly that is welcome rather than a problem these days. My get up and go has definitely departed.

Good morning from a cloudy but bright Black Country.

We are going to Birmingham this afternoon, check in Hotel, then a meal before going to see Peter Kay.

Last night there it was evacuated due to a suspicious bag, so it may even be cancelled tonight. Last time we were there you had to pass through a metal detector before entering. So that must have picked up on something?

Good morning from a sunny NE after overnight rain.

Yesterday DD and SIL came for lunch and sat and chatted while we waited for a delivery.
We went to the supermarket and then cooked dinner together.
Today DS and GD2 will visit, brightens my weekend to see them and enjoy the music they play.

We love Grasmere too and I've spent many a happy hour choosing jigsaws from the vast selection in Barney's Newsbox.
DH has stipulated he wants his ashes scattering at Easedale Tarn, hopefully many years from now.

RosesandLilac, keeping you in my prayers. My MiL had small cell lung cancer successfully treated in her mid 80s. She found making decisions about her treatment harder than the treatment itself.

Hope your meal goes well, FriedGreenTomatoes. Such a lovely idea. Tears don't matter. If you can't cry about losing a loved one, what can you cry about?

A quiet day here. DH has taken the little chap to Tesco to give me chance to get some jobs done.

RosesandLilac, I’m sorry to hear your news but glad you are on the two week path now, rather than being in limbo. Once you know more and start some treatment things will, I hope, be more positive for you.

I’ve got part two of my dental extractions this afternoon - an upper wisdom tooth and a ‘stump’ of a much repaired tooth to come out. Soup and scrambled egg will be about all I can eat for the rest of the weekend 😕.
