What colour car do you have or did you used to drive?

For the first time in my life I have a red car. I love it. I’ve had it a couple of years now. It is funny but many of my friends ( we are all over 70) also chose red ones. We used to always go for dark grey or navy. We still have a dark bluish mauve one that my husband drives . It is easy to find it in the car park, much easier than the grey one which you had to wander around to find when you forgot where you left it!
When the children were young they pleaded with us not to get another mustard yellow one - horrible colour but it must have been popular then in the 1980s.

Shiny Blue, most of my cars have been black, but I have owned one red car and loved!

Black, but in the past I have had red, green, blue, silver, white and brown cars.

I had a red KA and called it my ladybird.
I then had a black and red Juke which I also loved.
Now we are down to one car we have a pearlised white and black one!

Latest is bright blue, so I can find it in the car park amongst the mass of black, grey, silver, sludgy brown, white!

Before I bought that car, I was standing at the bus stop one day, counting how many of the passing cars were NOT one of those colours.
Out of around 50, maybe 5!

Mine is orange. Had it 10 years and still like the colour. It’s easy to find in the supermarket car park when I forget where I’ve left it.

We had three red cars and was glad when the next was blue and then we moved to silver. My current car is British Racing Green. I said I would never have a green car but I love this one to bits. It’s iconic.

Dont know why but I dislike red cars would never buy one, I have black now but have had grey, 2 blue, white but my favourite was two tone silver roof then navy below the windows I loved that car.

My car is a silvery blue.
I think it is a shame that the majority of of cars seem to be black or various grey tones.
I would really like a bright colour and I would never buy a white one.

I've had a red one, a blue one, a red one, now a blue one. I wonder what colour my next one might be?

Jaxjacky Wed 06-May-26 14:01:54

I’ve had black, beige, white, back/purple, metallic blue, pale blue and now white.
The first white was an Alfa Guiletta, loved it, the metallic a 2 litre Vauxhall turbo (Cosworth head), expensive to run.

My car is listed as pale blue but is actually brilliant white. My former one was jazz blue. I've never had a red car.

Ours is red………….with a splattering of Sahara dust apparently 🤷‍♀️

Visgir1 Wed 06-May-26 14:22:26

I tend to go for the "Red" shades too. My first car was a Mini (loved that car) it was Orange, then I got a Burgundy MG Miget.
From then on mostly Reds, few Whites in the mix but my current car is Red.
DH goes for more light Blue's or silver's with a couple of Blacks thrown in.
But out of all my chums I'm the only one who has a Red Car.

I don't do green cars either, but I would love a classic British Racing Green Mini Cooper S! Current car is a charcoal grey - and I would never buy a white car, especially a white Range Rover, which just screams tackiness to me.

Never had a car but mostly seem to be white in my family and we re definitely not a tacky family…. bit judgemental there Viceversa all are home owners in very decent jobs

merlotgran Wed 06-May-26 14:30:49

I couldn’t care less what colour my car is (it’s metallic blue, since you ask) so long as it passes its MOT every year. 🤞

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 06-May-26 14:36:07

My Kia Picanto is Adventurous Green. I would love a yellow car. Most of my previous cars have been blue, except for a silver Yarris and a beige Austin Allegro.

Jaxjacky Wed 06-May-26 14:38:49

Phew ViceVersa my white care isn’t a Range Rover, I'm saved from being tacky!

When my granddaughter was asked what sort of car she wanted she said not red. They are so lucky ,these kids. They get bought a car each when they turn 18. We never dreamt of anything like that, just totally out of the question. Different times.

dogsmother Wed 06-May-26 14:41:28

Only ever bought one car from brand new and family choice after eliminating the ones everyone said no to ended up buying silver.
So the various others have been chosen not by colour but rather by their other attributes.
Although currently I’m on one white one silver (we share) driving each others for different reasons.

It’s not an MG ‘B’ GT is it Greyduster? My dream car! But actually anything in British Racing Green would do!
How can white cars be “tacky”?!
Ours is dark blue.

Many years ago, I drove a Mini in the colour described as " citrus". It was known in our house as the snotmobile, which we felt was a more accurate name
