Harry and Meghan. UK Visit.

Just been reading about H&M’s forthcoming proposed visit to the UK with their children, pertaining to the Invictus Games which are due to take place next year.

Apparently, it’s a private visit, and accommodation has been offered to them on a ‘Royal estate’, but no mention of where or if it’s been accepted.

Security issues not revealed, plus whether or not it involves meeting up with the King.

We shall wait and see how it all evolves.

Headline in today's DT:
Meghan plans first UK engagement in six years
Apparently in July "she will join her husband at work ?? in Britain ..........and carry out a visit to a hospital. The couple will undertake meetings and at least one public event together."

Is this true, or is it yet another press release from H &M, eagerly promoted by Hannah Furness , DT's Royal Editor?

If it is true, who on earth has allowed it? They are not working royals and she is not patron of any charities recognised here.

In which case she needs to be told what is expected from her, in minute detail.
And maybe written down, so there is no doubt about it all, from anyone.

NEWS:
They have accepted Royal accommodation.

With Andrew?

Althorp was mentioned.
Nor royal, but Earl Spencer considers he is; working towards matching Henry V111's record of wives.

I read somewhere they will meet the king at Sandringham.

I read somewhere they will meet the king at Sandringham.

Not in July, Sandringham House is open to the public from March through to October every year.

I agree with MerlotGran. I hate to think of the unkind things they will say about the Royal family this time round.

eazybee Sat 27-Jun-26 19:34:58

Shock Horror.
Harry has announced he reconsidering bringing his family to Britain because of a protection row; the security package for the trip has been denied.
The committee responsible for assessing their security is 'wilfully creating conditions that are making it nearly impossible for them to move around Britain', says a source.
No taxpayer funded protection, you see.
Gutted.

fancythat Sat 27-Jun-26 19:54:39

Why would things be announced[or was it just media], if security had not been guaranteed?

MarieElla Sat 27-Jun-26 20:55:53

It was announced on Radio 4, which surprised me.

fancythat Sat 27-Jun-26 21:20:32

Apparently they themselves announced they were coming[well their press office or whatever].
And have now pulled out[family not him]

Seems to me like drama. Again.
They must have known they hadnt got security sorted and would not like get it.

Playing games?
Meghan isn't brave enough and I think she would be foolish to come here after her lies about her inlaws.
"The hens have come home to roost"

Usedtobeblonde Sat 27-Jun-26 22:13:02

Please let it be true that they aren’t coming.
I would like the King to meet his GC but would not like the publicity for their brand which I feel it is all about.
On the other hand will they play on the fact that they have been denied due to safety concerns?

Rhetorical question- who the 🤪🤪🤪🤪 does she think she is?

Sadgrandma Sat 27-Jun-26 23:11:38

How on earth will they hide their children’s’ faces. Will they make them wear masks or cover their heads with blankets like Michael Jackson did?

merlotgran Sat 27-Jun-26 23:16:46

Maybe she’s training them to walk backwards?

CatsWhiskas Sat 27-Jun-26 23:29:37

MarieElla

I have eaten food in India correctly , after being shown.
And yes, I am snobish, but not racist. Using cuterly the correct way (both British and Irish) shows class and education.

I'm so glad my grandmother was insistent that I used my cutlery correctly. I'd hate to be thought of as lower class and uneducated. hmm

Purplepixie Sun 28-Jun-26 04:18:23

It’s a shame the king hasn’t seen their children in ages.
H&M say they don’t want publicity yet they love it.
I wish there was a solution for the sake of their children. I used to like Harry but he’s governed by her. Sad.

Sadgrandma Sun 28-Jun-26 05:56:42

Harry may not now bring Meghan and the children as he has been refused Police protection except when on Royal premises.

Calendargirl Sun 28-Jun-26 06:31:38

Why all the drama?

If, and it’s a big ‘if’, they do all come, why do we need to hear so much about it?

They could fly in discreetly, go to whichever ‘royal’ accommodation they have been offered, Harry could do his Invictus business (on his own, nothing that requires Meg’s involvement as the actual event is still a whole year away), the King could meet the family privately if that’s what he wants to do, then they could all fly back to California and it could then be reported on the news.

All this pre visit nonsense will have been released by the Sussexes.

Allsorts Sun 28-Jun-26 07:00:10

Their A list friends all gone, their business's all fail, they didnt want to be royal but everything they do is because of Harry's total status which they traded on, so they want back in. The King should never see Harry alone, he cannot be trusted. Definitely not Megan. Doubt William will forgive the total betrayal when he needed him most. He wants half in and half out. Bet he knows by now how manipulative his dear wife is. He was blindsided by love.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 28-Jun-26 08:23:42

Will they?
Won’t they?
Any publicity is good to keep in the frame.

Smileless2012 Sun 28-Jun-26 08:26:04

More of Harry's 'woe is me' and victim hood and what better way of going about it then to announce a visit and at the last minute say it wont be happening due to security concerns.

They could of course do as you've posted Calendargirl but then M wouldn't be in the limelight would she, and the pair of them wouldn't be making the entire thing look like a royal tour as they did in Aus.

What a horrible thing to do to Charles, who'd have been looking forward to seeing his GC and having criticised the British public for racism etc., what on earth makes them think we would want our taxes spent on their security!!!

NotSpaghetti Sun 28-Jun-26 08:36:51

I don't believe the palace has said they are coming...
I could be wrong but think the info was released by the Sussex' team

MarieElla Sun 28-Jun-26 08:39:10

It's bad enough having to accept that not one member of your family wants to see you....not even a distant cousin, but for it to be public information is humiliating....
Pair of fools!

2nd sentence - totally agree

3rd sentence - yes to it all

1st sentence - I dont understand, like calendargirl says, why that has hasnt happened[assuming that it hasnt].
Would it be because it all has to happen on Meghan's terms?
