I’m sorry you’ve been poorly, FGT. It’s horrible when you’re on your own, no one even to bring you a glass of water. I admit to panicking now, if I’m feeling even a bit under the weather, conjuring up all sorts of calamities.

A busy day here, I’ve not been in long as I’ve been out line dancing this evening. My feet are feeling tired now and I’m pleased to have them up!

I’m glad you were feeling better FGT and I hope you are back to full fitness today.
DH and I have been awake since about 3.30am so we have decided to give up and start the day. My mind is overflowing with things I need to do as opposed to the things I would like to do. The church is becoming a nightmare. I am supposed to be raising £200,000 for roof repairs. The rest of the PCC are conspicuous by their absence. There is a diocesan visitation on Monday and I have no idea where all the required paperwork is. If I walk away from it all, the church may well close and I don’t want that responsibility.
DD needs us overnight next week, probably, but didn’t book us. That would involve making arrangements with other people to cover what I should be doing. Aaaagh!
I want to get into the garden but it’s raining.
Enough of my moaning - it’s a help to unload on here. When I worked, the cure for too much overload was to book a holiday. This week I have booked two! A couple of days up the road in Norfolk and then a week away next Spring.

It’s a horrid, grey wet day here. I should move and concentrate on removing yet more dust. Where does it come from? Definitely spider season in cornerland too, I remove the little ones as humanely as possible then summon reinforcements for the big ones.

I have treated myself to one of those Flash magnetic duster thingys, actually they are not at all expensive.
You just attach a feathery head to a plastic stick and whisk round then throw it away.
It is excellent for ornament etc as it so light and glass which attracts dust is left dust free..
My GD has blinds at all her windows and she can wipe them all in minutes.

And yes SueDonim things are just so different solo aren’t they? I’ve lost some of my confidence over certain things since being widowed six months ago. I just try my best to focus on my strengths if I can. I hope you are coping okay. Not that there any choice in the matter. That’s the upsetting part isn’t it?

Good afternoon all. Glad to see you’re feeling better FGT2, that looks an ideal place to sit and listen to the waves. It’s quite sunny here but there’s a very strong and cod wind. MrB and I went to Lytham for a walk and we were practically blown back along the prom .

I have seen some of my niece’s wedding photos, beautiful and looks like everyone had a lovely day. By far the best thing is that her father was well enough to walk her down the aisle. He has dementia and is quite bad now, at the stage where he can’t be left alone. She is glowing with happiness and he is smiling.

It’s been a wet and windy day here, got rained on a couple of times whilst dashing into the gym and then again at the hairdressers. Never mind though I’ve got my hair done now and it feels a lot better. Nothing to do this evening except chill out on the sofa with a cosy throw and watch TV - still to be decided!

The beach was interesting today. A sunbed and parasol which has an €8 charge in Málaga for BOTH is €20 here! Ouch!

I said to my stepfather multiply that by 4 days and it’s €80! A lot of money. I can’t think how families of say 4 go on. He laughed when I said if I skip dinner tonight I’ll stay on track financially 🤣🤣

Hi all, two lovely pictures of very different sea fronts, thank you both.
So pleased you’ve seen some pictures Blossoming and father of the bride could perform his duties for his daughter, magical for them all.
We’ve had glorious rain here for hours and hours, I heard it in the night, it eventually stopped about 2, water butts are full.
Meanwhile, in between opening the patio doors and breathing it in!, the pharmacy were chivvied, they came up with the goods about 5.
The upstairs has been dusted and vaguely hoovered, two rooms are rarely used now, days of GC sleeping over are mostly long gone.
I then sorted out my file of seeds, some have been been binned, only a few need replacing as we grow limited veg these days and this year no flowers. Next year will be different.
Well done on booking holidays Nannytopsy far more interesting than fund raising, a tough challenge.

Hello everyone, what a lovely wet day! I think it started at about 5 this morning and rained non stop until 5 this evening. One water barrel is full to overflowing and one of the others is filling slowly. All the watering cans are half full, I can’t lift a full one any more.

The lawn is greener, but not sure how much is actually grass growing. Certainly a lot of grass growing on the front flower bed, so I’ll hoe it tomorrow.

I went to the garden centre and bought more bulbs, and got wet. Got wet again when I went out to post a birthday card! Not sure if either if my waterproof coats is actually waterproof!

nannytopsy I hope you get a lot of support in trying to raise such a huge amount of money. Are there any grants you can apply for? The National Lottery fund for example? Well done for booking some holidays, a welcome distraction from fundraising!

Hi kitchen pals. We had a very poignant funeral today for one of DH’s pals.

I need to finish packing for our early flight to Jersey tomorrow. I am contemplating leaving my tech at home, so if I do not post I shall be thinking of you 🙋‍♀️

There was only a light drizzle here yesterday. We are promised downpours but none appear.

Some kind soul stole my blue paper bin . This is the second time it has happened so I suppose I will have to buy yet another. The next one will be graffitied with my house number, no more discreet numbers.

I have bought a cheap coverless duvet, 13.5 tog. I will fit a sheet between me and the duvet then I shouldn't need to machine wash it so frequently. Drying will be a nightmare if it isn't cold enough to have heating on indoors. My old one will be close by I think.

It cost over £30 so if it doesn't work out I will not have spent a fortune.

I spent a lot of today sorting out my new iPad, changes woth no obvious benefit are annoying.
MrJ cleared the patio and side of the house of moss, chucked off the roof by birds, messy monkeys.
The local Air Ambulance has been busy today, hopefully all is well.
We will be having our electric blanket discussion soon Charleygirl as to when it goes on the bed, it’s MrJ’s task, he sorts the cables well, but I use my half 😏

Hi everyone. A cooler day today, but dry and bright. Chair yoga was good and I really felt better for being stretched! Not sure that I’m feeling the benefit now though, or perhaps that’s due to my hoeing the front garden this afternoon!

jaxjackyI was thinking about the electric blanket this morning and wondering when to put it on the bed. I don’t have to use it yet of course, I think I’ll ask DD2 to help me with it at the end of the month.

charleygirl I have a sheet between me and the duvet during the summer so I don’t have to change the duvet cover so often. Soon I’ll abandon the sheet and go back to fighting the duvet cover more frequently!

Hello kitchen people,

A long and busy day.

Packing first of all. The taxi is picking us up at 6 am tomorrow for the start of our trip to the Italian Lakes.

I went to my friend’s ’at home’ for her 90th. It was a good occasion. Lots of drinks, food and lots of her friends.

We had an early dinner as I went to a meeting of the Local History Society, which was very interesting.

Sleep 💤 tight.

In the 20 years I’ve been coming out in September I have never seen rain this torrential! The heavens opened at 11pm and there’s been thunder too. Luckily I was in my hotel bedroom but I heard the shrieks outside on the pedestrianised street from so many holidaymakers who’ve got caught out in it. They will have walked to their accommodation looking as though they’d had a dip in the sea I’m sure!

It’ll be back to sunshine tomorrow I expect. If there got to be rain any time before 7am is perfect.

Evening! I’m just in from WI where we saw an amusing theatre group. 2 new members - always welcome!

A late visit from me just before I turn off the light and snuggle down
I’ve had a busy but enjoyable day, nothing special just the gym, coffee with pals, a short riverside walk and then dancing this evening. My feet are tired and definitely happy to be in bed. Tomorrow is a quiet day with nothing planned for me, DH will go to the local Men’s Shed whilst I have a lazy morning

I’ve managed to resist putting the heating on yet but it won’t be long before I do and then the electric blanket will come out of the cupboard too
I’ve been thinking about a coverless duvet too charley, putting the sheet with it is such a good idea 👍

brook last night was my first night sleeping under my coverless duvet. I spent ages finding a 13.5 tog but stupidly thought that pillowcases were included, but no, and they can't be bought separately. The colours weren't my choice, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money in case I didn't like it.

I needed my usual hwb and during winter 2 extra blankets but for £27 a good buy. No usual fight to even get out of bed. Research well brook but be careful, most are for "summer" only.

No rain, the sun is peeping through. I don't feel 100% but there is nothing wrong with me if that makes sense.
