Seems it’s now Harry’s uncle - the Earl of Spencer - having his turn at a “tell all” book.

Diana died 29 years ago so I think it's rather late for this book to be considered cathartic.

I admired him for the way he spoke at her funeral but IMO this book is as you say FGT's more mud slinging.

His book A Very Private School about the abuse he suffered at his boarding school, was chilling.

Many more men came forward to say they had also been abused.

He’s her brother, they were very close, next year is the 30th anniversary of her death.

If he wants to write about his much beloved sister then good for him, it’s not mandatory for anyone to buy it, or to read it.

I simply cannot see the point of being “outraged” and accusing this man of “mud-slinging” with zero evidence.

It’s a bit ironic for him to be passing comment on other people’s marriages when he has 3 failed marriages to his name! And a track record of treating his ex wives unkindly eg Victoria - “I’ve supported her through thick and thin and she’s definitely that” - really nasty.

His speech at Diana’s funeral was brilliant in its eloquence and totally hypocritical imo.

Cossy already snippets are out. He writes that “Charles said that she (Diana) would soon be forgotten”.

Mudslinging.

To be honest I really disliked his speech at Diana’s funeral, it was understandable given the emotion at the time, but it left the impression that it would be he alone who would bring up Diana’s sons, a travesty of what actually happened as, of course, they continued to be brought up by their father.

Who knows what actual input he had, given his own divorces and remarriages.

His speech at the funeral was dreadful; spiteful and divisive. With three broken marriages behind him he is in no position to criticise those of others.

easybee if you'd heard the applause from the many thousands outside the abbey that was then taken up by those inside, the speech went exactly as it was meant too!
