Good morning from dry clear E Kent.
Well done, Mick, for losing Covid weight. Still, perhaps you should get a checkup. Glad the Giro is going well.
Mine went well, the doctor referred me to the local ENT specialist. Watch this space.
I’m going out to lunch with a WI friend in Ramsgate today. We’re going to spend vouchers I’d been given in early March, just before the virus struck.
It’ll be my first outing on the bus since lockdown. I do drive but parking isn’t easy, the bus is direct and free. We’re going to “Petticoat Lane”, a decommissioned church now used as an antiques and collectibles warehouse. Never been before, it’ll be interesting.
Hope the poorly, sorrowful and in pain have a better day. Stay safe.

Scentia Fri 23-Oct-20 06:31:53

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. Fresh out there this morning.
We have had our DD and DGS stay for a few days and watching her is worrying me I think she is depressed and I don’t know whether to talk to her DH as when I try to talk to her she says I am wrong, she just has morning sickness. I am not a natural interferer (sp?) so really am at a loss as to what to do. Oh my what a miserable post, sorry folks.
Work today and then a weekend of gardening and book box building as I was incapacitated last weekend!
Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and all who follow. You sound brighter today Mick, probably best to stay c!ose to home, until you are feeling a 100%.
It's too dark here to see anything, but I suspect Mr MD is going to get very wet playing golf.

I don't have much planned today, apart from a Tesco online delivery and sweeping up the millions well it seems like millions of leaves in the garden.
I also noticed last night my bulbs have all been dug up by an animal, so I will have to sort that.
Mellow Yellow, the trees arrived last night, but I haven't opened the box yet , but will let you know what they are like.

Because I baked last night (chocolate brownies and plum crumble) , whilst DH watched two football games, today's planned baking is done. As I'm ahead of myself, I may chill and binge watch The Indian Doctor.
Sending everyone, who has I'll health and worries, a virtual hug.
Thinking of all our missing posters and hoping they are ok.

Marydoll Fri 23-Oct-20 06:50:04

I have just been in the Kitchen and read of Susan's worries about her family. So many of our friends are struggling and worrying about family.
Scentia perhaps your daughter is anxious about her pregnancy, but doesn't want to worry you. It's so difficult trying not to interfere. ?

Sark Fri 23-Oct-20 06:57:10

Good Morning.
Still dark in Oxfordshire.
Pleased to hear you're feeling a bit better Mick
Scentia what a worry for you, it is hard knowing what to say/if to say anything sometimes..hope your DD is ok.flowers
Just a usual work day and home later to buzz around trying to clean the house to free up some time over the weekend.
My DH hates it when I am in 'buzzing' mood!!
Stay safe everyone and best wishes to all smile

Beechnut Fri 23-Oct-20 07:00:49

Good Morning everyone from damp Severnside. Mick ??I hope it stays that way and Scentia Marydoll has taken the words right out of my mouth about your daughter.

It’s been a week of weird dreams. Has anyone had Pavlova for a starter. I was serving it up at a wedding reception ?

I think I’ll do some crafting today and also think about how to display my pumpkin for Halloween.

Have the best day you can all ?

Nortsat Fri 23-Oct-20 07:05:12

Good morning Mick and the GM team on a pitch black morning in east London.

I have got meds to collect from the chemist and a parcel to post. No progress made with HMRC...
I plan Leek & Bacon casserole for supper.
I have bought some diced venison and might cook that in red wine, at the weekend.

Thinking of gilly, Bluesapphire and everyone facing challenges today. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Fri 23-Oct-20 07:08:12

Good morning to you all from a dark, damp corner of Devon,

After a busy day yesterday (I’m loving the freedom afforded by the end of quarantine!), I was sleeping later than usual but the street cleaning vehicle had other ideas! It drove past at 06.30 am (!) then just as I was nodding off again, back it came to make sure we were all awake in my block! Seriously, though, it is welcome as the piles of wet leaves are hazardous. The price I pay for living near three parks!

Back to my (socially distanced) “Move It Or Lose It” class today which has recently restarted. It’s a lovely group, led by a retired professional dancer and choreographer who is an inspirational teacher.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend and light for those in dark places.

Giro with a Brit in 3rd place overall at the moment
Mick I believe that moment has passed! Didn't an Aussie win!? grin
For goodness sake, put the chish and fips on hold and see your GP for a check-up!
Sometime ago Elegran was trying to get MEN to overcome their natural reluctance to see a doctor before "things" became desparate. Wise words! Unfortunately her advice fell on deaf ears (mine being one exception)
You have nothing to lose and you won't regret it! hmm
Good Health and Good Luck!

Rufus 3 more days there is only seconds in it , Aussie wins stage , but also an Aussie helped his Brit teammate to Third on GC , the race is lead by a Dustman.
Back to GMT tomorrow.
Mick

Morning All

It's light enough now to see there's low cloud here in the north of Norfolk and it's definitely getting colder. Winter drawers on.

I'm sitting looking at an array of mystery bottles of booze on the coffee table. I'm clearing out the pantry and they'd got themselves hidden at the back. Mostly of foreign origin, bought on holidays, we'll just have to try each one I suppose.

First though, I'm going to meet DD2 in Norwich today, to do a bit of shopping while we can.

Have as good a day as you can Everybody.

kittylester Fri 23-Oct-20 07:28:36

Morning all from a not quite light North Leicestershire. We had a lot of rain overnight - I think!

Realised at 10.30 last night that we hadn't put the bins out and the lorry has started coming at 6am. Went out to put them at the bottom of the drive and not one of the outside lights came on. I suspect there are heaps of cardboard strewn around now and it will be soggy now.

Hopefully DH will deal with it!!

brook2704 Fri 23-Oct-20 07:39:59

Good morning all from Inverness where it’s still dark but we’ve a much drier day forecast today. The garden is full of soaking wet leaves so I really must try to get out there at the weekend to sort it out!
Today is the last day of the school half term break here so I’ll be really enjoying looking after the DGC for the last time for a while. Not sure what we’re doing today though yet, I’ll ask them when they arrive!
I’d best get a move on so hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and those with worries and struggles have the best day they can. Take care all ?

Gingster Fri 23-Oct-20 07:48:41

Good morning all.

DD and smallest DG came in after school yesterday. The little love had tripped over and grazed her lip. She’s full of scrapes and scars. Knees , hands and face. She’s so small and when she runs her little legs can’t keep up a d over she goes! She cheered up when we made some autumn leaf collages. She loves a craft project.

DGD 3 won the school poetry competition . She’s only just gone to secondary school, so we’re all very proud. She received a chocolate orange, £10 Amazon voucher, a book and a certificate. ?.

Scentia sorry to hear of your worries re DD. Her hormones are raging and she must be extra concerned about her pregnancy after the miscarriage. I’m sure she’ll settle down as the months go by. It’s difficult if she doesn’t want to talk about it but just keep an eye on her.

Going out for breakfast with DD , so that will break the day up a bit. Might have a look round for Xmas stuff. We need to focus on something joyous and lighten our moods.

Keep on keeping on. That’s all we can do. Find something to smile about ??

NannyJan53 Fri 23-Oct-20 07:49:31

Good Morning from a dull and drizzly Black Country.

Meeting up with our u3a walking group today, we have to walk in groups of 6. Be good to be back walking with them. So I need to be showered and out by 9.10am this morning!!

I have had months of weird dreams Beechnut people have popped up in them who I have never met, or even thought about in the day!

It's a worry about your DD Scentia but from what I remember of my morning sickness (lasted 8 months) it
made me feel pretty miserable for months.

Half term is next week here brook although 12 year old DGD has today off as well. Her younger sister is not impressed.

Wishing you all a happy Friday and a good weekend.

Elizabeth1 Fri 23-Oct-20 08:02:48

Good morning all from a very dark east Fife it’s been raining too according to my DH. As he looks out beyond the curtains.
We’ve got a busy day ahead where we’re going to Falkland for a celebration lunch with our dear cousins who celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Now that I’m on the up and up I’m getting around more still keeping within the guidelines to keep safe. I’ve started using a Neuro physio who worked blooming hard on my left side well worth the cost I’m picking up a free excercise bike today too on advice from the physio everyone in the house wants to use it too. It’ll probably be a seven day wonder for my DH and sister but fun for a wee while. Me I’ll be using it as advised I’m going to be dancing at my friends wedding in Gibraltar next year. Keep safe everyone no chancing it DAE AS YER TELT. wink flowers

Sar53 Fri 23-Oct-20 08:04:56

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea . A big orange ball rising up from the sea, looks wonderful.
No plans today apart from making chocolate brownies, which I have been promising DH for a long time.
Well done to your DGD Gingster, you must be very proud of her.
11 year old DGD is isolating, school shut and all pupils isolating for two weeks, her 5 year old sister has an inset day but 8 year old sister has to go to school, she is not a happy bunny !!!
Have a lovely Friday and stay safe everyone xx

GrannyGravy13 Fri 23-Oct-20 08:05:39

Scentia I expect your daughter is worried about the pregnancy after her miscarriage, I know I was a nervous wreck during my pregnancy after a miscarriage.
Just be there for her, with little treats and an every ready ear / shoulder for her when needed. thanks

Beauregard Fri 23-Oct-20 08:10:44

Good morning from Derbyshire. Dry now with rain coming in later.

SIL's covid test came back positive. I'd convinced myself it wouldn't be, so it's quite a shock. He's feeling ok at the moment so I hope it doesn't get worse. I expect DD and the boys will get it too as they are all in close confines. DD had already isolated for a week because of a case with a child in her class. Because of that we, and others, hadn't been near them for several days, so it should hopefully have saved many others from catching it.

Hope everyone is feeling well and has a good day today.

cornergran Fri 23-Oct-20 08:12:09

Morning Mick, morning All from a dry, chilly corner of Somerset. Sky looks heavy though, neighbours funeral this afternoon, hope the sky is kind to the family. Thoroughly enjoyed our walk yesterday, the sun shone for us, not sure what today will bring, nothing that has to be done. Understand your worry scentia flowers. Your lunch trip sounds both interesting and fun grandMattie. I’m in the weird dream gang beechnut, quite look forward to them. Look after yourselves, thinking of those with heavy hearts or health worries.

Jaxjacky Fri 23-Oct-20 08:13:19

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening S Hants. Our house is untidy, last week measured for new flooring, yesterday blinds so I keep moving stuff. Last night the dishwasher decided to leak, so there are soggy towels to sort. So, best get tidying, although at the same time we’ll start to pack down the kitchen for the new installation.Minor issues compared to others.
Wishing you all a calming day.

cornergran Fri 23-Oct-20 08:13:59

Just seen your news beauregard. flowers.

Urmstongran Fri 23-Oct-20 08:15:49

Sun’s up here! ? missed you!
Good morning everyone from Malaga ? where a gorgeous sunny weekend is forecast.

The Mediterranean is a sparkling blue again and the palm trees aren’t dancing. A whole day to fill anyway we choose (provided it doesn’t involve transport of any kind!). Actually our carbon footprint must have been pretty low these last months.
?

The grandchildren are being allowed to go to school in Halloween dress up clothes today as half term break starts this afternoon.

A dilemma regards your daughter Scentia. I’d go with your mummy gut instinct and as other have said, keep an eye on her. Yes she’ll be anxious but I’d have thought joyous too, not depressed? If she has buttoned down, have a quiet chat with your son in law so that you are reassured when not with her seems best.

Hope Friday is kind to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x
