Real or fake

For years and years I always said we would never have a fake tree. Then two or three years ago we had one that lost almost all its leaves before New Year’s Eve when we had visitors coming round. So we rushed out and bought the best Fake one we could find (they were all reduced by then ) and it didn’t (doesnt) look half bad. So we’ve used it ever since. DH pleased as no need to buy one at great expense, bring it home & set it up as well as clear away afterwards. I’m pleased as there no vacuuming up of needles every day. Much easier & looks quite realistic once decorated. I think it will ‘see us out’ now

We too used to go to a local Christmas tree farm, choose one which then cut to order. Used to live it, but they were costing £35 to £40, (probably a lot more these days) and it is only just us to see it.

In 2008 we bought a rather expensive one from John Lewis, but that was the year of the worst news ever on December 12th, so I rather took against it.

We now have a group of 3 pre lit twig trees, ranging from just over 6 ft to 3 ft which get liberally decorated with silver and white baubles and look lovely.

There's a large piece of white wadding cut into shape that goes over the bases to look as if they are standing in a snowy woodland.

Real & growing in a pot. (British grown.) Sadly the (potted) one we had inside at Christmas 2018 & 2019 is a looking bit tatty now, so it's in the garden, awaiting planting-out. We'll get another this year.

Fake ones here. I like to see real trees, but not in my house as I’d get tired of having to clean up all the needles as they dropped.
