Blissfully I have only had to buy presents for two grandchildren (agreement among adult family plus friends for no presents ) so I don’t need to go round the shops hearing all those ghastly Xmas songs.

They could use these as a trial in I'm a celebrity.

Lock you in a box and make you listen to them whilst covered in tinsel and quality street.

I do like Wham’s Last Christmas.

But apart from that I really only like proper carols, sung by proper choirs. I can’t bear ‘popular’ singers doing them with breathy or screechy voices, or trying to put ‘expression’ into them, or the arrangers buggering them about and putting twiddly bits in.

Rocking around the christmas tree is awful, only battered by the terrible video of Shaky in a christmas jumper, playing snowballs with lots of rosy cheeked children.

When a child is born makes me cringe.

Whams Last Christmas

We went to see the film!

I don’t like Cliff Richards Mistletoe & Wine and Whams Last Christmas.
One of my favourites is Chuck Berry’s Run Rudolph Run, it’s so upbeat.

I shall be practising them all over the next week 🙂

Slade sang So here it is, Merry Christmas It gets on my nerves more than any other Christmas song because it is played by every supermarket on repeat from November 1sr until Christmas Eve. It was Wizzard who sang I wish it could be Christmas every day. Still annoying but not as bad as the first one. I’m not keen on Mariah Carey’s offering but it is positively world class compared with Stop the Cavalry! As for Jingle Bells…. I love proper Christmas carols, though, and my piano and violin pupils start learning them in November in order to have a repertoire of them by Christmas.

All of them, apart from one.

Mariah Carey, Shaking Stevens, and Wham top my most disliked.

Slade 'I wish it could be Christmas every day' is top of my Oh no, not again' list too.

I tend to sing along when shopping - sure I'm pretty high on some people's dislike lists too!

All of them annoy me until December!
