Christmas cards

Our Christmas card list has got out of hand, heading for 150. Not all need stamps but quite a lot do and lots are people we knew years ago and probably won't see again. What do you think would be the reaction if I went 'e' card with those I have emails for and requested email addresses from some of the others? I know ecards don't go on the mantlepiece but in these tough times the postage cost is scaring me.

We've bought ours, they're on the coffee table, we've been sitting looking at them for the last ten days, haven't actually got the address book out yet, it's a fag! but there are some people, not seen for a while that we want to keep in touch with. I like getting the newsy ones from a couple of old school friends and likewise mine back to them, I leave to the very last because I tend to do a fair bit of writing in those. Some of my husband's clients from his working days morphed into friends and he still has quite a few to write on that side.

I imagine much of this will die with our generation and possibly the generation behind us, young people don't really do Christmas cards, I'm not sure some of them know what a stamp is, but if they do, they'll be shocked as the rest of us at their price. One of the main reasons, along with the EChristmas version will confine all this rigmarole into the mists of a bygone era.

I find younger family members don't bother or use moonpig. I love Xmas cards and always send them. I keep special ones each year as I can't bear to get rid of them. Same with b/day and mothers day cards. My kids will have a shock when I leave this mortal earth!!!!😊

Have got all my cards ready for the post, when the two day strike is over.
When do you think is the best date to receive a Christmas card? When is too early?
I don’t mind if they’re early, I just pop them in a drawer until I want to put them up to admire.

One of my sons doesn't even open the cards. I have seen a stack of them on his hall table after Christmas. His girlfriend opened them eventually and one had a fairly large check in it from his grandmother.
hmm
