New Years eve

No, they spend it with their friends, as did we until we all got a bit old and couldn't be bothered any more.

Christmas is for families, New Year is for friends, is what we go by.

When the parents were alive they were always invited together with a few friends but most people I knew didn't do that and just celebrated with friends of the same age.

Never been invited, wouldn’t dream of it, our contribution occasionally is to have the grandchildren here so they can have fun with their friends. We did spend Christmas together.

I always tell them if they're at a loose end they're welcome here (not that we do much) but wouldn't expect to be invited to theirs!

New Years has never been a big thing for us, I’ll have dinner at my daughters but I’ll walk home by 9ish.

I can't stay up that late either way.

I have DD's dog parked with me for a couple of days, wouldn't
want to be invited , honestly it would bore me and I couldn't
stay awake and be sociable.

Will meet up with DD and GC in afternoon.
..Will join EDS early evening for a drink in pub and .....we will be home by 9pm very latest.....won't see my youngest DS ( 24) at all.....we are invited to a friends party but I can never be bothered with new year

I don't expect to be invited out to adult kids' homes for New Years eve.

We have a tradition of Chinese take-out for dinner on New Year's Day, very casual. There is American football on TV that DH watches, and some of the AC might be slow moving after an evening out, so it works well for us.

Dd1 is having a party and has invited us, which was very nice, but we said no thanks - for a start they’re 60 miles away, secondly, all their friends are around 30 years younger, and thirdly, we stopped wanting to party on NYE decades ago.

I dare say we’ll wait up for Big Ben and have a glass of fizz, but that’s it. A pair of right boring old farts now, but we don’t care.

Like my kids to do NY with their friends. I do childminding if asked but quietly celebrate midnight all cosily in bed. Bliss.

Yes, we’ve always had Christmas with our family, but not New Year’s Eve, not since the DC left home anyway. Our NYE celebrations are a bit quieter these days, but we’ll still see the New Year in at a house party with good friends.

Never had a NYE with our adult children. Probably due to the fact none of us enjoy NYE. Great when in teens/20s, but since then we've mostly stayed in. The amount of fibs I've had to tell.

No. We have never joined our daughter and her family on NYE or Christmas Day.

My partner and I spend NYE alone at his place. We have a lunch out at a local restaurant or pub and then nibbles and fizz in the evening. See midnight and then head to bed. My daughter and son in law are having a house party for their friends and although I live with them I would rather spend it with my partner and the dog 🥂

Christmas family, New year friends for all ages.

No , my AC do their own thing at NYE . And we do our thing . Sometimes we go to our local pub or to a neighbours house . Sometimes we stay home with some fizz and an early night .
The Christmas period for us is quite busy and hectic , so it’s nice to chill at new year . Having said that , I’m not a fan of NYE . By the 31st I’m knackered, and sick of eating and drinking ! .

We will spend it with the grands this year as their parents are off to a friends party. But that’s the most we ever do
