What are you going to eat AFTER Christmas?

Is it going to be bread and dripping - to recover from the expense? Or a New Year detox?
Or are you counting on leftovers? If so you have clearly never entertained my 6’4” nephew who has hollow legs or my eldest GS who is rapidly heading the same way! No leftovers when they visit.
Perhaps you already have a freezer full of “other” food? Or will it be macaroni cheese/pasta and tomato sauce/gnocchi with the same?
My post Christmas resolution is to eat up the assorted things I have no idea exactly why I bought - the duck breasts, stewing lamb, side of sea trout and ALL the bags of frozen veg -(those may become soup.)
And I will try not to be sidetracked by all the incredible reductions and yellow stickers on “Christmas” food.

Home-made soup. Fruit.
No wine

I might lose a stone by the end of January!

Turkey and ham salad. Turkey curry. Brie and grapes on sourdough bread. Trifle. More trifle. Then steak pie at New Year.
After New Year, back to plain fare

I’m not hosting, so I doubt I’ll have leftovers. I do plan on making a lasagna though around the27th/28th

Well we honestly don't overbuy food for Christmas, it's just a glorified Sunday dinner and we will get back to our healthy eating the day after Boxing Day. Of course we do get extra bits and bobs for Christmas, but once they're gone they're gone.
We love good food and eat very well, but not to excess.
We donate a cheque to our local food bank before Christmas and I don't mean to preach, honestly I really don't, but we prefer to do that rather than gorge ourselves

Going to Son and DiLs Christmas day. Will eat small dinner and have a big dessert. That's my treat. Will probably eat a couple of chocolates.
Apart from that everything will be same as usual.
I won't be doing any special shopping.

We will have a lot of leftovers this time as my 13 year-old son will be away for Christmas this year. My mom is cooking a turkey and I picked up a spiral cut ham today.

Leftovers! But, my leftovers are not the traditional stuff. I make a lasagna for Christmas Eve, and Chicken Cordon Bleu for Christmas Day.

Rosiesmaw excellent poem.

I will divvy up anything left over after Boxing Day, with our daughters, no turkey thank goodness and I’ve been quite frugal with the sizes of meat that we are having. Mainly because DD and I don’t eat meat.
Then after Christmas I need to plan meals around what’s in the freezer, both freezers are full and I need to work my way to the bottom. Ditto the kitchen cupboards. In theory I should only need fresh veg and milk for about a month
We shall see.
