I’m sure there are some beautiful trees out there, trees which tell a story with decorations gathered over the years, elegant trees, big tree, little trees, real trees, artificial trees- well I thought it might be nice to put them all together on one thread!
Here’s my tiny tree - a far cry from the 6 footers we used to have when the children lived at home.
But also safely out of reach of dogs- I have an abiding memory of Jock, my first (and only boy) greyhound who took one glance at our floor standing (big) tree, and clearly thought” Oh good, indoor plumbing” 😱😱😱
So bring out your trees tchsmile

Mine hasn’t been delivered yet.

Love your colour scheme Sago.
Beautiful trees Usedtobeblonde and please note I have binned the bottle bush this year!
Hard to pick a favourite, all lovely.
FGT I love the simplicity of your tree and felt emotional at the poignancy of your words.

LauraNorderr
😔 I shall never live that down but I love your new one,.
Does the glitter come off on your hands?

LauraNorderr Sun 14-Dec-25 13:21:01

No Utb, it’s a better quality this year, no glitter on my hands.

Jaxjacky Sun 14-Dec-25 13:23:12

I’m not at home, this is my daughters.

LauraNorderr Sun 14-Dec-25 13:25:55

That’s a beauty Jax. I had read that you won’t be doing the hippy hippy shake shake at this years Christmas party.
Get well soon.

Sadly we have no room for a tree. We have an enormous monstera in the living room. I could decorate that I suppose.

We have a monster Monstera, too! It’s been in the bay window for nearly 40 years, and evidently likes it there. The other day I had to perform fairly drastic surgery on it, since it was sprawling all over the place, and taking up room we’ll be needing for the 🎄.
Every few years I’ve taken even more drastic action - taken a few massive cuttings, complete with any aerial roots, and started again, with fresh compost.
Believe it or not, hardly any of the 3+ foot cuttings have ever failed. I usually keep them (with roots) in a bucket of water for 24 hours before planting, so they will have had a good drink.

Here’s ours - post surgery. We actually call it the Hippo Tree!

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Dec-25 13:34:01

I have one similar Laura but obviously inferior to yours.
By the time I got to the till I had glitter on my face and hands.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Dec-25 13:35:27

Those Monsteras are gorgeous though, I have a baby.

J52 Sun 14-Dec-25 14:30:20

Thought I’d add the dining room one. I like a little bit of Christmas in there as well. Not too much as it can interfere the Boxing Day Mob! 😂

Kate1949 Sun 14-Dec-25 14:48:38

Our old fashioned crowded one, complete with tinsel and c

Kate1949 Sun 14-Dec-25 14:50:03

Oops complete with tinsel and chocolates.

kittylester Sun 14-Dec-25 15:11:52

Ours. The easy way. No more vast trees dropping needles and requiring water but a prelit slot together. I miss the real ones but more what it represented. Decorating it with the children on the half day at the end of term having bought fish and chips for lunch to give us strength.

Gingster Sun 14-Dec-25 15:12:15

My two trees.

Gingster Sun 14-Dec-25 15:26:53

The other one

Here’s mine, cobbled together this afternoon. DH always did a wonderful job, but he’d be pleased I’ve made the effort.

LauraNorderr Sun 14-Dec-25 17:01:59

Every single one has lifted my spirits, some very colourful, some very subtle, some simplicity itself and others raise a smile.
Thanks for a superb thread. Much enjoyed.

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 14-Dec-25 17:05:16

This is mine. I've added a silver star on top since

Nandalot Sun 14-Dec-25 17:09:30

I did post this once but it didn’t appear. ( May appear twice now. ). Decorated by twin teen DGC. Not themed. Ornaments added to over the years.

CocoPops Sun 14-Dec-25 21:03:33

Thanks for this lovely thread. Merry Christmas everyone.

Usedtobeblonde Sun 14-Dec-25 21:35:32

Everyone has made such an effort and done it brilliantly.
Thankyou all so much for posting.
It is very cheerful.

rubysong Sun 14-Dec-25 22:51:40

4 foot artificial table top here, which suits us these days. As you can see the monster monstera has put a chair out of action! Thank you Witzend for giving me the confidence to try and chop the top off to make a cutting. I'll tackle it in the New Year, (or should I wait for spring)? I recently tried to rehome it to the local hospital but no joy.

NotSpaghetti Sun 14-Dec-25 23:51:17

Nandalot that's exactly my sort of tree!
I love it!
