Pavlova is delicious and easy if you buy a pavlova shell. Decorate with whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries etc.

Our go to dessert and very moreish πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Oven-heated fig roll biscuits with custard poured over.
Very quick and handy.

Are my expectations too high on Christmas morning? I have an old friend staying and she arrived yesterday afternoon. We had a lovely time catching up and then she and DH went to the carol service across the road whilst I prepared a festive supper. All in all, very lovely. But this morning (it’s now nearly 11am) she is still in bed. DH is preparing lunch and somewhat grumpy despite offers of help so I’m alone in the bedroom reading Gransnet!! It’s not quite how I expected Christmas morning to be. I do wish people would just make a little effort. Am I being unreasonable?

Maybe she is scrolling Gransnet herself and will think oops thats me and will be encouraged to get up. Make her a cup of tea and say lunch is at whatever time amd we plan a walk or whatever before. If she doesnt want to join in then just carry on. Do whatever you would normally do and let her join in with that...or not.

How long is she stayi g.

Sorry it looks as though Flick and I have barged into the wrong thread.
