My DS3 was with us over Christmas. He's a real scupperguts and so there were practically no leftovers by the time he left on Monday. Just enough chicken meat to make a meal for us last night.
I love that word 'scupperguts'!
I couldn't be bothered to cook tonight.
Is it just me eating this bizarre combination or anyone else having a dash around the fridge & cupboards?.....
....round of smoked salmon sandwiches, a dish of random olives, 4 mini sausage rolls, 1 cold stuffing ball, a dollop of coleslaw, a handful of cherry tomatoes and a spring onion.
Followed by a tiny (wasn't worth not eating) slice of chocolate gateau, a spoonful of cream, a satsuma and 3 dates.

I have fads on preferred foods
I wonder if your body tells you that it wants something .
At the moment I've longing for smoked salmon with fresh white bread and capers plus thinly sliced gherkins .
So that's my supper .
As long as my supper doesn't involve minced meat -I'm fine!
The other day I wanted Cumberland sausage with buttery baked potatoes.
This evening DH and I are going to share a box of mini quiches which need eating up. Probably with bread and a slice of ham. We haven’t had Christmas pudding yet so I might do that. Or perhaps mince pies.
I promised myself a good rest this Christmas, and now all the busyness is over I’m having one. I go back to work on Monday so I’m trying to please myself a little while I can!

OP sounds rather good to me!
Sounds pretty normal for us!
So what's it to be tonight Gransnetters after my picky bits dinner last night - Indian or Chinese? Can't make up my mind.
Got to do it as it means two nights on the trot with no cooking - absolute bliss.
I’m clearing out the fridge so “ dinner” tonight is leftover Spanish hams, Greek hummus and olives, Turkish bread, French and English cheeses and my homemade plum and tomato chutneys. Add a bowl of crisps and peanuts and we’re good to go….yummy.

Ooh I'd ditch my takeaway for that. Can I come please
Last night was leftover gammon from Christmas, leftover Paris Mash from the previous day’s beef cheeks and leftover sauce from the beef cheeks. A little like the Stovies DM made when I was a child. Oh, and mustn’t forget the 3 leftover nutty chocolates (in the gold foil). Tonight’s will be a defrosted leftover slightly spicy vegetable pasta dish DS1 made last month. And leftover red wine. Cheers!
Well, that's a weird combination alright, but it probably covers all your vitamin and mineral requirements.
My sil is French so we had his traditional Christmas dinner of ribs and shrimp though by overwhelming demand we still had pigs in blankets.
I’ve just had a currant scone, followed by crackers and pate .And then Christmas cake with cheese.
Then I’ll wonder why Ive got indigestion when I go to bed! 🥴
ferry23 Sounds good to me! 😂 my diet is very similar!

Baked potato with spiced red cabbage and feta cheese anyone?
inspirational, might do that tomorrow. Today I had avocado with camembert, French dressing, mango and orange slices. really lovely, all in the same bowl. I have plenty more avocados but they are getting very ripe, though not yet brown, any suggestions. Left to use up is spicy red cabbage, peppers, Jacket Potatoes, stewed apples, uncooked cauliflower. Plenty of various cheeses and oranges. Once used up I shall go shopping although I have loads of ready meals in the freezer. Really need to eat all that too and have a complete clear out. Why do we buy so much I live by myself!!
Living pretty much on chocolate. But tonight beetroot chips, coleslaw and salmon and Baileys
2 slices of ham, the penultimate pickled walnut, some baguette with Stilton on it, a small bag of cheesy biscuits and the last of a trifle we had this lunchtime, when DS2 and family came for our second mini Christmas.
I often do things like that sd I'm more of a picker....
Very common tyoe of meal in my house when the fridge needs clearing and sorting, we just call it 'mix up'
sometimes start with a straight vodka shot if items are on the cusp of their use by date.. ...
My brother in law told me, "you girls have the tastebuds of reptiles!" due to the fact we eat anything. I wasn't brought up to waste food, I told him. (We werent, single mum, 4 girls, you ate what was On your plate or did without!) He, on the other hand is a fussy eater, my sister will purposely give him mash potato, he says it makes him gag, if he annoys her, mash potato for tea! If he won't eat it, she fries it up for his breakfast and hides his porridge.

Picky food is my favourite. Easy to prepare, no washing up and looks like a party.
Me too. always. If I go out for a rare meal I'm likely to have 3 starters as the main course.
My fridge is just about empty, I calculated well, Just hoping Friday isnt too crowded a shopping day at the supermarket, meanwhile its freezer raiding.
Like another above, I live alone so never had lots of stuff "left over".
The only thing that lasted was my posh Christmas pud from M n S, I bought one for 4 as I like it so much, but it has long been and gone.
Twixmas was full of leftovers. very nice but repetitive. I did stirfrys of leftover veg and potatoes to eat with my leftover veggie wreath. Christmas was at DD's so she cooked.
I was so glad to have a baked potato with coleslaw and cheese last night.
Today veggie DD is visiting so am making roast mediteranaen veg lasagne. She is bringing pud so that will be a nice surprise.
I bought a few crisps and dips for grazing and there has to be chocolate sometime .....

Oh, I love little impromptu ’buffet’ type meals like this, using things that need to be used up!
I always buy Elmlea, once opened it keeps far longer in the fridge
Fridge provided me with a lunch of a bit of leftover smoked salmon and it was enough to put on 3 TUC crackers with cream cheese spread,
and hummus with about 6 Pringles.
Odd - yes, but I enjoyed it.
I have enjoyed your post Ferry23. It has given me a few ideas for future picky teas,
Tonight I am going to reheat some leftover roasted root veg in the air fryer, topped with grated cheese and maybe a fried egg on the side. I don’t have any leftover meat to clear up and haven’t taken anything out of the freezer.
