They are going to be available in some Supermarkets,
Good Idea or not ?

Negligentmother Mon 05-Nov-18 14:11:14

@gmelon hahahahaha!!!

Just back from supermarket, Delhaize, there is an area just inside the door where they do post office services, batteries, Lotto and condoms etc. I say etc because there is quite a variety of 'aids', two styles of vibrators, different gels and creams and lots of styles of condoms.
At least you do not have to take them to the check out but I think it would be a wee bit embarrassing anyway. There is nearly always a small queue.

Will supermarkets offer their own basic own brand versions I wonder? So many innuendo jokes from this, I await jml's next advert as to what is available at 'various supermarket names' hilarious!!!

Often idle the queue time away looking at what other customers have in their baskets at the checkout
Often reminds me what I've forgotten!

Me too Cherrytree !

Subliminal messaging, I just realised I bought nice fat sausages for my dinner tonight.
I had intended to buy a pork chop !!!!!!!!

SueDonim Mon 05-Nov-18 14:59:58

Why not all supermarkets? I don't see why those of us who live in more remote areas should miss out!

Though who needs a vibrator anyway? On a recent trip away Dh heard a strange sound coming from one of the suitcases. He opened it to find that the electric toothbrush had switched itself on, likely when i drove over one of the many potholes in our roads. grin

Smileless2012 Mon 05-Nov-18 15:00:37

felicegrinhope you'll still be able to enjoy tonight's dinner. Which supermarket do you use? Just curious you understand.

NanKate Mon 05-Nov-18 15:04:34

You could say they are dual purpose and produce a very nice egg omelette when put on high speed. I assume there are levels of vibration from just a jiggle upto earthquake mode ?

felice Mon 05-Nov-18 15:04:36

Delhaize, Smileless2012, one quite close to me in Brussels.

Auntieflo Mon 05-Nov-18 15:08:32

The self scanning checkouts will be very popular

Bridgeit Mon 05-Nov-18 15:11:36

GN , Will Suedomin’s electric toothbrush do??

HootyMcOwlface Mon 05-Nov-18 15:12:33

Imagine taking it back to Customer Services if it doesn’t work! ?

Bridgeit Mon 05-Nov-18 15:14:39

Especially if you had to demonstrate it was faulty Hooty!?

downtoearth Mon 05-Nov-18 15:40:48

Read that it was Sainsburys that where having them

Riverwalk Mon 05-Nov-18 15:47:43

I wonder if Waitrose will have them in their Essential range. hmm

MeltingMacaron Mon 05-Nov-18 15:49:00

This is not new. Asda's have been selling vibrators for a couple of years and many pounds shops sell them. It's just Sainbury's jumping on the bandwagon and a bit of hype to see how sales go. Most news coverage said the trial ended yesterday. Far better to go to Ann Summers or Love Honey for more choice and reliability.

oldbatty Mon 05-Nov-18 16:22:12

Every little helps.

bikergran Mon 05-Nov-18 17:03:48

Well!! I never!! I have worked at Asda for 2 yrs now..never sold a toy I'm sure we don't sell them..but It will be my first line of inquiry on my next shift...or should I just follow the "titters" down the isle grin

A few (!!) years ago now I took my elderly mother shopping in her wheelchair with shopping trolley fixed in front of her chair. Discreetly popping a packet of Durex in amongst my weekly shopping, my heart sank when whilst waiting in the checkout queue I noticed my mothers beady (but not working great) eyes alighting on the packet peeping out from under the bag of potatoes! Quick as a flash she picks them up, peers at them, waves them about and says loudly "What are these dear?" I of course reply in a very quiet voice - not a good idea as her ears didn't work very well either!1 She didn't hear, resulting in a shouted "Pardon? What are you whispering for?" conversation ...and so on ...you get the picture!! In the end I held them up, said "Durex Mum! remember those!" ...at which point she says "Shhh! Anyway we didn't have disposable ones!" All of this, to the great amusement of the others in the queue! grin
We did have a good giggle about it though on our way home!

Madgran77 Mon 05-Nov-18 17:27:14

Er "Electric Toothbrush" ...WHAT? Have I missed something?

Madgran77 Mon 05-Nov-18 17:28:43

...sorry ...just seen SueDonims post

Jalima1108 Mon 05-Nov-18 17:30:54

We've asked some local supermarkets for raffle prizes for a charity dinner - I hope they don't donate one!

NfkDumpling Mon 05-Nov-18 17:37:34

Our nearest Sainsbury’s is several miles away. Do they sell them in Happy Shopper?
