I would like to win an iPad because because...... an Apple a day keeps the grandchildren from being far away

I would like to win an iPad, it would make me happy and glad
Because I miss my Grandchildren, which makes me rather Sad
They like to smile and chatter and share some fun on Skype
And lots of lovely messages to me they like to type.
Now if we had an iPad this fun could happen around the world
As I sail into the wilderness, my love could still be heard.
So with an iPad in our grasp we’d have the perfect way.
To share the love and happiness and all we want to say.
As the oceans span between no distance would be to great
With an ipad we’d have a connection not leave it up to fate.
Although our lives are miles apart the distance would seem quite small
With an ipad in my rucksack we could really have a ball.
Each child a precious treasure as daily they do grow
To see them make this journey is what I’d like to know.

And for family oh so cherished and let these precious moments be shared

My children and grandchildren all use iPads but I have a Windows/Nokia system and they think I'm still in the dark ages! I do miss so many opportunities to share their worlds, I would particularly like to be able to facetime my daughter who lives abroad at the moment.
An iPad Christmas would be fantastic!

I would like to win an ipad because my husband refuses to use the desktop computer but is very interested in our daughters' ipad and has lessons on it from our six year old granddaughter !! If he had his own I would be able to spend less time on the computer, freeing me up to do other things !!

Why would I like to win and iPad? Well, my Grandparents lived nearby when I was young and I didn't need to take a bus, train or plane - I spent time with them nearly every day. Gingersnap sounds like it is the modern day version of 'just popping round to play at Gran's'.
How wonderful that technology like this is bringing all generations closer together - regardless of their miles apart.

I would like to win an iPad because life would be better if granddad could FaceTime our distant grandchildren, not just listen to them.

Having an iPad would show everyone I'm not past-it yet

I would like to win an Ipad because, memory, identity and place are deeply connected to our sense of person (who we are) and personal history/heritage (where we came from); an Ipad for my grandparents would help us grandchildren help facilitate their; recalling and sharing their memories and also visiting places/friends virtually that they are no longer able to visit due to ill health/disability or the availability of suitable transport/help, therefore regaining some of their independence. Activities we would do together are; accessing local archives so my grandparents could see photographs of their places they experienced as it was in their youth, or places they took holiday's, or using web cameras to talk to friends/relatives far away, or virtual tours of places they have always wanted to visit, or used to visit every day that they can no longer do (walking in the park for instance). Technology is all around us and has so much potential to connect the past, the present and future, however, it can seem frightening/intimidating to the unfamiliar and exacerbate a sense of isolation from the outside world. Therefore, I would like, in this instance, for technology to help reduce the sense/feelings of isolation my grandparents encounter, and with the aid of an Ipad and us grandchildren as their 'Tech guides', help them escape the confines of their health, and with their 'virtual' eyes/ears/legs be more independent and free to; share/re-live memories, participate in simple daily activities we take for granted (travelling), fulfill their dreams of visiting places, and continue to have new experiences of their choice, whenever they choose to and without limits.

I would love to win an iPad because my android tablet will no longer charge it's battery.

I look after my 3 and 5 year old grandchildren each afternoon and we have lots of fun playing board games, hide and seek, making models, baking, singing, gardening and reading books. But the one thing I can't share with them is technology as my computer is quite old and it takes a long time to load up any programmes, so an i pad would be brilliant. My 5 year old grand daughter tells me they do lots of fun things at school on the i pads and I would love to share in the fun.

Up until recently I thought a tablet was something the doctor gave you or that you got from the chemist!
