It's that time of year again - and the launch of our Best reads for Christmas. Over £500 of fantastic books, fiction and non-fiction, great gift ideas for family and friends (and yourself - goes without saying)

Aaaaand - one very lucky person can win all the books featured on the page. To enter simply tell us what's on your Christmas wish list (it can be absolutely anything)

We will be picking a winner at random on 14 December - more details on the page

To see an easier path ahead for everyone is struggling. Warmth for those who are cold and food for those who are hungry. Light for those who are in darkness and love for those who lack it.
And books for all!

I don't have a Christmas wish list but if I did it would consist of a list of books. So much to read, so little time. smile

That my daughters and their families are happy and content, that we have a wonderful time together on Christmas day and that our next grandchild arrives safe and well

I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want, is for my DGS to find the right switch that enables him to read and subsequently write. There is a world of knowledge in books just waiting for him ... and the look on his parents faces would be all my Christmases rolled into one smile

Health, love and happiness for my family. I'd wish the same for the world, but feel that may be too big an ask!

And this Christmas I'd like to add a special request for a quick recovery for DGS1 after his planned surgery on 23 December, so that he can enjoy Christmas Day, and a safe arrival for DGC4, due in April smile And maybe a big bottle of Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir, if I've any wishes left!

A good sprinkling of Christmas Fairy Dust over my husband who finds it hard to maintain bonhomie for a full day of family togetherness.
He loves his children and grandchildren but the 'grumpy old man' syndrome kicks in after too long. ;o)

Having all of the family together is enough of a gift to me but if I'm lucky I would love a new NEOM candle.

I wish for Christmas that we could be more kind to each other. For my family a happy and peaceful New Year.

I hope to have a great family christmas with my daughter coming back from her 2 year adventure in Australia, to my grandkids having a wonderful time and a healthly new year.

GeminiJen Thu 17-Nov-16 11:22:17

I'll be spending Christmas with my daughter and grandsons, and we'll be joined by my son, his wife and children. It will be a squeeze! But, at the end of a year that's seen illness, loss, pain and much change, my Christmas wish is simply for us all to spend time together, with lots of love and laughter....and having my glass topped up once the kids are tucked up in bed winegrin

maciv234 Thu 17-Nov-16 11:40:43

a new bike would be amazing

jimsnan Thu 17-Nov-16 12:15:53

Lucylucciano Thu 17-Nov-16 12:28:06

Not much on my christmas list this year. I've been concentrating on getting stuff for everyone else! Saying that though, an experience day might be nice. I've always wanted to go on a bird handling day!

henbane Thu 17-Nov-16 12:53:52

I wish my health holds out so I can keep getting travel insurance! Otherwise. assuming the EHIC card is no longer valid following "hard brexit" I shall never be able to go anywhere warm for Christmas again!

lablass Thu 17-Nov-16 13:36:22

All I really want is for my son's back operation to be successful so he can walk again and play with the grandkids.

ffinnochio Thu 17-Nov-16 13:41:27

Share the love - why just one winner for so many books? Spread the books around ?

bookiemad15 Thu 17-Nov-16 13:50:28

First thing on my Christmas list is always books. Unfortunately my family think I have too many so any book would be most welcome.

otherwiseknownasGrandma Thu 17-Nov-16 13:56:36

I haven't been able to think of anything when my daughters have asked what I want for Christmas but now I know - I would like a huge box of books and a slightly smaller box of dark chocolate truffles. Bliss!

Grannyknot Thu 17-Nov-16 14:12:54

I wonder whether GNHQ read all these posts, or do they just pull a name out of a hat? Please reply if you do.

On my wish list is that you split or share a prize like this large bundle of books and have three Christmas winners grin.

Spread the love.
