I think my love and hate are the same thing . I love the warmth and the ability to be outside with family , but hate the warmth inside , the closeness and inability to sleep . Oh to live by the sea !

My favourite thing about Summer?
When the schools finish, and the only timetables we have are filled with lazy days, fun days and doing what we want days!

My least favourite thing about Summer?
The feeling you have when you know the school holidays are coming to an end, and you all have to get back into the morning routine!!

of course I love the sunny weather when we have it, and I hate the rain in summertime.

The best thing is being able to spend time outside, eating, drinking, chatting we sit out for hours with no tv just chatting. Worst thing is summer doesnt last long enough.

My least favourite thing is hayfever. I love summer and I hate being allergic to seasonal pollen! I am finding that increasing my vitamin c intake helps a little bit, but I don't go a day without sneezing!

My favourite thing is the food - all the fresh fruit that is in season which tastes so much better than out of season fruit and which makes it much easier to make healthy choices, and also barbecue food which is not the healthiest choice but delicious!

The best thing about summer is spending sunny days with my grandchildren walking along the local riverbank. The worst thing is hayfever - pass me a tissue

When I was a child, my favourite thing was escaping from our small and overcrowded house to explore the garden, meadows and streams of the countryside. A myriad shades of green with bright jewels of flowers. My least favourite things were scratched knees ( no jeans back then!) and coming home to have face, neck and knees scrubbed by the kitchen sink and hair roughly untangled! When my children were young my favourite memory was of camping in France – turquoise sea, hot sand and the smell of Mediterranean wild herbs. The least favourite was overtired children with sunburn! When my grandchildren were young, I have fond memories of them racing round the garden, with such energy, enthusiasm and life!
Now I am old. I look forward to the sun and light evenings, only to find I sit in the shade, the sun is too hot – and I run out of energy long before dusk! All those summers, where have they gone? Just memories, but there are still things to I look forward to. I love to see the house martins wheeling across the summer sky and I can escape to new worlds through the books by my chair.

Worst thing: bugs. Bugs everywhere

live7 Sat 23-Jun-18 14:32:08

favourite: more relaxing lifesyle of wandering around - in the garden and countryside, enjoying the warmth.
Least favourite: the muggy humid days that mean you feel like doing nothing and can't sleep.

Susangilley Sat 23-Jun-18 16:11:45

grannybiker Sat 23-Jun-18 21:46:19

The best thing has to be spending more time outdoors.
The worst is traffic jams when it's hot

chrissie4 Sat 23-Jun-18 22:28:02

I love the light nights long days but I hate the hot stuffy nights when it is so hard to sleep

lolarabbit Sun 24-Jun-18 10:58:38

Favourite: picking blackberries from the hedgerows on summer walks
Least favourite: being a magnet for all biting insects!

Purpledaffodil Sun 24-Jun-18 11:38:44

Favourite thing is wearing light summer clothes in bright colours. Since these seem to get less wear than warm clothes, my summer wardrobe always seems much bigger and more exciting.
Least favourite has to be hot, sticky but mercifully short nights!

marijo1951 Sun 24-Jun-18 11:49:58

Best thing: Delicious fresh fruit

Worst thing: High pollen count

Wizzyh Sun 24-Jun-18 12:52:02

The worst thing is hay fever! Seems particularly bad this year. The best thing is the energy and optimism that long sunny days provide!

Sharonhirst1 Sun 24-Jun-18 13:39:23

Love the longer days and lighter nights, but hate when it's too hot especially at night and sleeping is difficult

Genka Sun 24-Jun-18 15:49:38

The best is the travelling and holiday trips. The worst is that it is so hot!
