I love to get handmade birthday and Christmas cards. My grandchildren are nearly grown up now but my great grandson is carrying on the tradition.

"I love you grandma" accompanied by a big hug. Priceless.

His whole being! His smile and the twinkle in his eyes. Melts my heart.

the softest skin ever from lips, a cheek or a hand slipped into yours and to hear "Nannie, come and see what I've done".

My six year old grandson recently wrote an illustrated story. I was so impressed with the vocabulary he had used and his correct use of spelling and punctuation, that I offered to type it up on my laptop and scan his illustrations in order to 'publish' his first novel for him. He even wrote a 'blurb' for the back page.

The delight on his face when he saw the finished booklet was well worth it. I now have a regular job to do as his 'publisher' as he has decided that he wants to be a famous author!

Huggles from my gorgeous wee grandson, really treasure them now as he has started full time nursery and we don't see him as often and we now they are time limited as he gets older.

Firstly, having the time to enjoy them and secondly, when they rush out of school, beaming and radiant, and straight into your arms!

I have 2 amazing grand babies & there's nothing like a big cwtch to chase any blues away. After I was told I'd never be able to have children & then being blessed with 2 : seeing grandchildren is an extra blessing. ?

The little chats they want to have when we all share what we've done that say. Also the little questions about the olden days, the latest being about how people used to have great big CDs - vinyl records!!

I love seeing the joy on their faces when they are happy and it's even better when they greet me with big smiles and cuddles

I love EVERYTHING about being a grandmother-from the oldest grandchildren to the youngest- ITS THE BEST!

To hear those words "LOOK Grandma, look" when she wants to share whatever it is she is doing. My heart just melts.

Watching the future unfold, in the grandtribes development and dreams! Love trying to keep up!

Playing 'make believe' with my little grandson is just the best. We act things out together and his performance is wonderful to watch!
When he asks if my knees are getting better and am I still taking the cod liver oils it just fills me with joy!

When my little granddaughter aged 5 said, “I’m glad I’m the cousin who got grandma to live with her”

Reading them stories - think it's a bit of a lost treat these days. They love it, just like their Mummy used to!

When an older GS tells me I'm one of the happiest people he knows. I'm not so I blink back a tear, return his hug and strive to live up to his impression of me. ?

Enjoying their delightful company and then, when they have gone home sitting down to relax - once we’ve tidied up!
