I think it was Cinderella, it was magical, funny, a little bit cruel and in the end the best girl won! If only life was the same!!

I loved Beauty and the Beast, such a beautiful book with fantastic characters.

Any Hans Christian Andersen story, mainly The Ugly Duckling - I thought I was the ugly child and dreamt of growing into a "Swan" - I certainly grew into something but not sure if I would have been classified as a "Swan"!

There was no particular one, but I loved the Andrew Lang "colour" fairy books - I had quite a collection of them. But most of the books I read as a small child weren't actual fairy stories - they were things like Enid Blyton's books.

Angella Wed 18-Sept-19 12:17:59

Sleeping Beauty because the Prince awakens the sleeping Beauty with a kiss after she pricks her finger on a needle and it’s so romantic!

The Princess And The Pea. The fact that the Princess was so special & delicate that she could feel the pea even through all those mattresses.....I love this story.

scarlettsbay Wed 18-Sept-19 13:35:17

Snow White; I imagined having amazing adventures in the forest?

SheenaBatey123 Wed 18-Sept-19 13:45:22

Beauty and the Beast as I thought it was so romantic to love a damaged soul with a kind heart and look beyond the surface. Of course you would be rewarded with a handsome prince in the end too.

CompGirl23 Wed 18-Sept-19 14:10:41

Cinderella was my favourite because as a little girl wearing a beautiful dress and meeting my prince was my perfect fairy story with a happy ever after ending.

lollee Wed 18-Sept-19 14:12:38

Absolutely adored Danny Kay when I was young and never forgot him acting out the Ugly Duckling to an enthralled group of youngsters in the film about Hans Christian Andersen. I imagined I was sitting amongst them too and loved all the others songs he sang too.

Hansel and Gretel - my friends and I played in a wood that had a mysterious house in it. We would picnic in wood and leave trail of crumbs to follow home

Pamaga Wed 18-Sept-19 15:04:44

The Magic Porridge Pot

Goldnotold Wed 18-Sept-19 15:16:41

Cinderella was my favourite childhood story and still is today. I enjoy seeing Cinderella in pantomimes at Christmas with my grandaughter. I loved reliving my childhood dream of dressing up in a ballgown like Cinderella many moons ago on my wedding day when I married my very own Prince Charming. Fairytales can come true after all and we have been living happily ever after for 27 years so far so there are some happy endings .
