I loved Snow White, so magical and I loved the stark imagery of "lips as red as blood, hair as black as night and skin as white as snow".

Stig of the dump was a favourite as it seemed an adventure that was possible to have. I was interested in dinosaurs and fossils and early humans fascinated me, living in caves and hunting for food. I remember how he made windows from glass jars which I now think was the first time I can remember reading about re-cycling!

Goldilocks and the Three Bears - and I still spend my life searching for things that are 'just right'!

The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde. The story reminds me that we can all change and gave me faith.

Rumplestiltskin is my favourite. I first read it in a First Aid in English Reader in primary school. I can still picture the illustrations. Perhaps I was slightly traumatised by the ending. (No spoilers!)

Cinderella. Loved it in every written and visual version. Still do!

The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton was always my favourite as a child and when i met my now husband he too said he loved that book.

My favourite was Snow White although it was through the film. I loved the idea of these little men looking after Snow White and her getting her prince in the end.

I loved Snow White and the seven dwarves because she was so pretty and I liked te idea of her cottage in the woods and looking after the dwarves!

Jack & the beanstalk. I was brilliant at climbing trees as a child and truly believed that if I climbed a tree high enough; I could get that pot of gold. I believed it for years.

Snow White, it was so romantic, your hero waking you up with a kiss

Peter Pan because it is pure escapism and I used to look at each night before bed to see if I could see Tinkerbell or Peter Pan - now read it to my grandaughter who also loves it even more so since seeing the pantomime last year.
