Well I shouldn't be discriminated against from entering this comp as I haven't got a partner. But everything I have is mine and everything I enjoy is by my choice, except work and I never get interrupted. So although lonely at times it's lovely.

I spend a long time biting my tongue ?

gulliver12 Mon 04-May-20 12:14:28

One wonders why but suppresses ignoble and cynical ideas.

What happens when your partner gets involved in something you consider to be yours? He doesn't, he gets involved in as little as possible!!

inishowen Mon 04-May-20 12:20:05

Sometimes I ask for a bit of help with my computer and he takes much longer than necessary. I suspect he's reading my emails but cant object as I asked for help. I've nothing to hide, just like my bit of privacy.

Go to it man, get the job done, give me a break !

Blueberrygran Mon 04-May-20 12:21:14

I don't mind at all if my Husband shares in activities I enjoy. Just so long as he doesn't try to take over by claiming to be a lay expert in things he obviously knows nothing about (isn't this just a typical male trait, though)?

cumnock2 Mon 04-May-20 12:32:30

He sort of knows and backs off.

The kitchen is my domain as it is me who prepares and cooks everything. It is a small kitchen so storage areas have to be used carefully.I like to put everything away after shopping etc so that I know just where to lay my hands on things. Now and again my partner will move things around in cupboards, fridge and freezer. No idea why he does it but it infuriates me !

GrAnne2 Mon 04-May-20 12:37:37

Nothing, really - i don’t ‘own’ my interests!

Authoress Mon 04-May-20 12:58:43

A reason not to have a partner?

daphne81 Mon 04-May-20 13:01:29

My husband only gets involved if he hears me open a bottle of wine!!!

teepee55 Mon 04-May-20 13:01:38

It’s great to have shared interests to have good times together

Desta1 Mon 04-May-20 13:02:40

this would be such a great prize to win as me and my wife do everything together in lock down

Greciangirl Mon 04-May-20 13:16:17

He would never do that anyway.
We both respect our spaces.
Of course, we sometimes have difference of opinions.

But generally, very respectful if each other.

Doreen5 Mon 04-May-20 13:31:08

When my husband tries to get involved with 'my things' it's really funny because he tries to play the piano with me and it ends up sounding like the cat playing a chopsticks duet!

TigerIOM Mon 04-May-20 13:46:42

I have no problem with sharing

Breeze81 Mon 04-May-20 13:50:55

I'm thrilled when my partner takes an interest in any of my hobbies. It brings us closer together.

collins210 Mon 04-May-20 13:57:32

There isn't anything I consider to be 'mine'. Most things are 'ours'. I suppose I could say that my music is mine but there isn't the slightest chance of him wanting to get involved in that as he doesn't have a musical bone in his body and he's tone deaf!!!!!smile

deskline Mon 04-May-20 14:08:41

we like to do things together but my yoga class is 'me' time and I like it that way!

tinysidsmum Mon 04-May-20 14:22:25

Not a problem, we share everything

Rowsie Mon 04-May-20 14:26:05

I do not have a partner at the moment but in past relationships I have been quite territorial about things I want to do on my own...which is maybe why I am on my own now!

Wenz Mon 04-May-20 14:26:09

My husband and I have been married 40 years and he knows if I am doing something and he feels he can help, he asks and vice versa. We share most things, even chocolate!! It is no good getting upset and being precious, life is too short.

Wilsa Mon 04-May-20 15:13:25

Don't really mind as long as he doesn't try to take over.

Happyhound Mon 04-May-20 15:23:30

My husband rarely gets involved in 'my' things as we have different interests and different skills. However, I have known him pick up my book and start reading it - sometimes it's annoying but usually I just find another book and wait till he's finished.
