The Treasure Hunters by Enid Blyton because it was the first book I read to myself when I was 9.
I was quite backward at school and when I was 8 we moved and I changed school. On the first day they were going around the class reading and then when it was my turn it became apparent I could not read and the children laughed, but the teacher was amazing, she had me sat next to her every day for months and taught me to read whilst the others got on with their work, so this book is special to me because I actually read it to myself.

There is a book called 'I'm sorry' It is a simple book about two small children who have an argument, it teaches how (in a very child user friendly way) to say 'I'm sorry' without losing face or friendship. I still have the book and remember reading it to my DGD and hopefully, one day in the distant future I will read it to my DGGD.

Dogger by Shirley Hughes I've loved this book even more since my grandchildren were born. There is a page where big sister Bella does something very kind, It actually makes me have a huge lump in my throat when I think about how kind that is for a child to do and the first time I read it years ago I cried a little, it's bought alive with wonderful illustrations.
