So many good thrillers but if I had to name one I have read recently it would be Just Before I Died by S.K. Tremayne.

I love a thriller because they take you on a thrilling ride of twist and turns that have you totally gripped and wanting to keep turning the page.

My favourite crime book would be any of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books. If I had to choose one it’d be One For The Money because that one introduced me to this great series. I like that they are fast paced and funny.
I love crime novels that keep me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next.

I love Ann Swinfen’s series of crime novels set in Medieval Oxford. They give a real insight into Oxford at that time as well as being a good crime novel. It’s nice to read something a little bit different.

Darkside by Belinda Bauer is very good.

I love the Kay Scarpetta series of crime thrillers by Patricia Cornwell. I think it's the problem solving aspects of crime thrillers that I like, and with this series, the use of forensic techniques is fascinating, along with multiple other plot lines.

One of my favorites at the moment is Martina Cole. I've discovered her late, I'm enjoying The Jump at the moment. I love the suspense involved in a good thriller, getting to know the characters. It's like a film playing out in your head, magic escapism at its best!

Love any of the books written by Kathy Reichs and serialised on tv as Bones . Great scene setting writing from the ‘ macabre’ depths of forensic medicine and historical cases of murder. Not my usual type of books but a great introduction to these that has now led to them being one of my all time favourites

Love crime thrillers can’t possibly choose just the one, so many great authors Peter James, Simon Kernick, James Patterson etc etc love the suspense and get totally lost in these books

I enjoyed The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides it kept me gripped to the end. I love the journey of a good thriller with twists and turns and the guessing of the ending which I usually get wrong!

brightonseagull Wed 12-May-21 08:39:07

I read a lot of crime thrillers, what I particularly like about Peter James and the Roy Grace series of books is the drama and suspense. I like to try to figure out what is going on. As they are set in my home town of Brighton I can imagine them more vividly. Reading a good crime thriller takes you to another place. I believe Peter James books are the new classic's to savour and enjoy. I loved the tv series but you cant beet reading the book and immersing yourself into the characters. Some books can be life changing which I beleive applies to crime thrillers.
